We came in here for lunch. We've driven by here many times going to and from Costco. We were looking for an Italian beef sandwich and discovered that they have it here! Lots of peppers, nice crunch to the toasted bread, and it comes with a small cup of au jus. Also got the Nick's Viva Chicken Panini. That was very good too. Fries were good but a little too much salt on mine. Friendly service and a good spot for a quick lunch.

This review has been long over due... I think I delayed writing this review because I wanted to kept this place a secret haha But.... BEST SANDWICH SHOP IN SCRIPPS RANCH! I typically come here before every Costco run, so once per week. They've got one of the best Philly cheesesteaks in San Diego! I also like to get their breakfast sandwiches Their breakfast sandwiches are nice change when you're wanting something delicious but don't want sit down at a restaurant for a whole meal They are also known for their pizzas. They have a really good reputation in Scripps Ranch for delicious pizza. If you're also wanting to switch up your pizza game, give this place a try. They are currently only open for breakfast and lunch, but potentially may open for dinner at some point.

Papa Duke's is a real cut above! Ron the owner is proud of everything that he serves and it really shines through. I've been here four times now and every time has been great. My favorite is the Mama Duke's Veggie Sandwich -- Provolone, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, arugula, roasted red peppers, marinated artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomato and a drizzle of balsamic glaze all on a baguette. Incredible! My friends who have them both rave about the Papa Duke's Hero, and so am I. There really is something for everyone on the menu -- pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, salads and even desserts. Eat in or take out. Inside, the mood is that of a classic New York-style sandwich shop with lots of fun NY memorabilia to add to the charm. You absolutely must go if you want food of quality made with love. Papa Dukes up there in my list of go to places!

Went here on a whim, we were driving though the area looking for sandwiches and always try to choose smaller restaurants vs chains. Papa Dukes is a deli mixed in with industrial buildings, so the competition is low which is why I imagine they have such a high review. The food was good. I ordered a hot pastrami and my bf ordered a BLT add chicken. We had our pup with us but the gentleman at the counter said we couldn't bring him inside to order. He is a service animal, so I thought that was strange. When I proceeded to order it was an interesting interaction, but we got what we needed. The space is large, much larger than I would think they need, but maybe the weekday lunch rush is crazy.

Cute little deli located in Poway with great, sandwiches, salads and plates. It has indoor and outdoor seating with daily specials on their menu. We tried their Mediterranean style salad and a chicken mozzarella sandwich. The bread was fresh but just a bit too hard. The salad was fantastic. I want to try other hot sandwiches in the future. The staff was very friendly and nice. We loved it here.

Wanted a sandwich and remembered Papa Duke's near where I was shopping and decided to stop by go try, and now it's my new fave local sandwich place!! So glad I decided to try it as I have been hunting for a good sandwich place. Owner was super friendly and welcoming even though he was getting ready to close in about an hour. Ordered the Turkey Ranch on rye and added in mustard, red onion and pepperhouse mayo. Came with a pickle spear. I think it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, and I love sandwiches. It was made with perfect ratios of all ingredients as you can see from pic. Can get for here or to go as they have tables inside and out. Classic local sandwich shop vibes that I love. I got it to go and got home around 1 hr later and it was so delicious. Very reasonably priced and stuffed. I eyed about 5 different items on the menu so will be coming back soon to try the other items. There is parking but limited amount.

Boy let me tell you Papa Dukes absolutely one of the best deli and grills in San Diego! Ron who is the owner treats every person who comes in here like family and give you top shelf service. Thank you Ron! Now let's get to the food having a BLT today my buddy from work is having a tuna melt absolutely delicious and you can't go wrong as you're sitting down eating watching old time'70s Shows. Very impressed!

Nice mom an pop shop, my order was taken by a young caterer! They have menu on outside and larger one the side Decently clean, they care here and are trying there best I see a young man rushing around but he knows his stuff Theres chairs inside and outside Loved the new york and sportsy decoration They have a customer bathroom, tv and I got to hear some silly cup problems chatter in the back, but it was a chill atmosphere about people who really cared to do their best. Would visit again great food hugeeee burger and greasy but tasty cheese pizza food

Short and sweet review. For what it is, a hidden business park deli, it's darn good. Every time we come here (which is often), I tell myself I'll try something new. Then inevitably cave and get the same italian beef sub I always get. The spicy peppers are HAAWWTT but so flavorful, it gives the sub some edge. The "jus" comes out piping hot and full of flavor, it could be sold as a soup. And the portions are big, I end up destroying the sub in a sitting and then not eating anything for the remainder of the day. The cashier guy with the mustache is so friendly and humble. You frequently see him cleaning tables, taking in trays, tidying up the place when no one is in line to order. He's got a smile on his face and greets everyone who comes in. The interior screams typical deli. They've got the game on, there are random framed photos, posters, and images scattered around the walls. Be warned though, they can be pricey. But for a once in a while lunch treat, this is a great spot.

" from a gentleman behind the register and a " Hi honey, what can I help you with? " from the woman behind another register in the deli. It's a pretty decent menu and prices are good too. It was extremely laid back and friendly. Good music on the radio and a huge selection. I ordered the Poway wrap, it was delicious. The food came out quick and wasn't cooked in a microwave. I gotta say, I'll definitely go back.

I didn't even read the reviews. When I pulled up, I almost drove right past it because it's tucked inside a liquor store. But hidden gems are usually called hidden for a reason. I walked in and asked what their most popular sandwich was. The guy recommended the California Club, which happens to be one of my go to sandwiches anywhere, so I told him to make that and add pickles because let's be honest, you gotta have pickles. Now I'm not gonna sugarcoat it, the guy making the sandwich took a sweet time. I mean almost a solid almost 10 minutes, and at one point I caught myself thinking, "This thing better be incredible." Well... it was incredible. Absolutely worth the wait. Fresh bread, stacked, flavorful, tactical, and one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you immediately stop caring how long it took. In fact, after the baseball game I went back a second time and grabbed a Cobb salad for my wife. Of course I had a few bites as a delivery tax. That thing was tremendous too. When I picture a really good Cobb salad, this is exactly what I want. Packed with egg, bacon, avocado, and just the right amount of blue cheese. Not skimpy at all. The salad also took longer than expected, but honestly I'd much rather wait a few extra minutes for food that's made right instead of rushed garbage. Well done. Easy five stars.

I was in Poway and somehow this place caught my eye when I was looking on Google maps in the area…read moreso decided to give this place a try! I love going to supermarkets and especially ones that I am not familiar with and like to explore and discover new things to try. This market is fairly small and it had basically two aisles but its filled from floor to ceiling with Russian and Eastern European goods. The front deli case has all the smoked fish you want and also plenty of different kinds of sausages too. And since its the holidays, there are also plenty of fun chocolates and gift items! I chose to buy some rusk bread crisps (salmon and cheese flavored) and Russian style egg salad. Both were good! I didnt know what to expect with Russian style egg salad as it has cheese and fresh garlic in it, so I was a little worried if I didnt like it, but good thing is that I definitely liked it and can definitely pair them with some Carr crackers as a snack! Almost everyone in here was speaking Russian and I definitely felt like a weirdo in there but everyone was nice to me and welcoming. My only gripe is that the rusk crisp was labeled as $1.99 and I was charged $2.50. Id come back here again and try other things too next time.
