I thought I would ask on the off chance that they did have some, not expecting it. I asked the gal at the counter, and she told me they had some in back and needed to add the finishing touch. There was chocolate or maple, and a couple others. I got the maple one. It took a little bit of time, but it came out pretty warm and the maple glaze was warm and oozing. It was tasty. If I were to get it again, I think I would ask for the glaze on the side, and dunk the donut in the glaze. Not sure if that's an option..but it should be!

While we were having lunch, he pulled up their website and was delighted to see they do, in fact, offer one! We popped in on a Sunday around 2:00 pm, not expecting much to be left in the case, and were delighted to see a fully stocked case of donut wonders. I presume the owner helped us, based on the glowing reviews here. He was, indeed, warm and friendly. When we got our box of donuts home, I noticed he had put some complimentary donut holes inside, which was a sweet (literal and figurative) surprise. I didn't have a chance to eat my donut until this afternoon. I had put mine on a plate with some plastic wrap, and it was just as fresh and tasty as if I had just picked it up. Ironically, when we lived in the East Bay, CA, our favorite donut place for years was also called Donut King! It feels like the universe is sharing some sweet serendipity with us. I will happily drive 45 minutes to pick up goodies from their store, but I don't even have to! With their weekly mobile pop-ups and advance ordering, I can have my favorites every week. I love (and truly don't understand) how they can make gluten free, vegan (not everything, but they have DONUTS!) treats so incredibly tasty. Over the weekend a friend brought over a cake from Blue Moon Bakery. I almost never get to eat…read moredessert because I am gluten and dairy free, so I was pretty excited to learn this was one cake I could eat! The cake was a coffee cake sort with blueberries. Oh my goodness it was so incredible! It was somehow dense but moist and light all at the same time, with the most satisfying texture... and the flavors! Just the perfect amount of sweetness, and I'm almost certain it had some good pinches of sea salt and cinnamon in it as well. On another impressive note, the cake wasn't crumbly at all, meaning all those delicious bites made it to my mouth:). 2026 #8
