I didn't realize how difficult it was to construct a pizza correctly and it was delivered cold the two times I ordered. (Typically, cheese goes under the toppings for future reference..) If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Firstly, we waited an hour for 2 pizzas we ordered. The driver was extremely nice, delivered our pizzas. We got inside opened the box WITH A QUALITY SEAL and it was empty!!! Secondly The manager JASMINE made it clear she wasn't able to get the pizza over to us AND apply a credit. Her excuse was "she wasn't cutting/boxing the pizzas". If this is a company standard then maybe she should do her job. So now we will have to wait another hour for our second pizza to be delivered. You work in the service industry during hard times and she wasn't worried about satisfaction of her customers. She was rude and very unprofessional. Her attitude was unbelievable. Lastly when we asked for her to correct this mistake she said she was unable to do both. I will NEVER use papa John's Pizza again. We order from them for all of our get togethers, but with this horrible customer service is unforgettable. I was in this industry for 13 years and I have never witnessed such crappy customer satisfaction. She obviously doesn't value her customers or her quality of business. Terrible service! I usually go in and out without much interaction, but this time they took forever to get to me and provide me my carry out order. I stepped to the rack with my order sitting there and they yelled at me like I was a thief! Threatening to call the cops for a prepaid order! I ordered Nov. 2 at 10am to have it delivered Nov. 7th at 11am because her lunch is at 11:35 and parents we all know these kids have a set lunch time and then need to continue class. I called the store and pressed the option for manager and a lady answers "papa johns were closed", i said um ok what time you close, she said were opening at 3pm today. i said ok i placed an order last week why am i getting an email just now that it is cancelled this is for my kids birthday part with her class who has a scheduled lunch at 1135. she said well it mustve not been here because i would have called yesterday to cancel it. i said no i have the email right here with the cancellation with your address. she said again i dont see anything here so it must be the wrong store because i have no record of it. i said thats not possible the confirmation and the cancellation receipt both have #1296 and this address. she said well i dont have anything i would have given you notice yesterday. I said fine bye, she responded mmhm and i hung up. how unprofessional is it to give someone a 20 min heads up that you are cancelling an order. an order placed last week, days in advanced. like my kids is expecting food. her class its at a set time and then they have to continue class. this was so inconsiderate and the lady had no sympathy and was rude. i placed an online order with days in advanced so things like this dont happen and i paid online so it was taken care of. For the longest time I had a great memory of this pizza and likely due to the garlic dipping sauce. So for the first time in a loooong time I ordered from this pjohns spot. Severely disappointed. Tomato sauce way too sweet, the breading bottom of the pizza super dense and stale. So just that everyone know, I don't particularly pride myself on being able to discern ingredient quality, however, this pizza tasted like the meat topping that was used in my high school cafeteria way back when... "Canadian bacon" was ham rods!!!! What is that?!! I'm super sad I wasted money here... the one thing I have good to say about this place was that the crust dipped into the garlic dipping sauce was at least good. Still... I went into the store because the application was giving my phone errors. I went in to make an order. They said I would have to make the order online to get my discount, which I understood. As I went into the corner to make the order online, the cashier told me to leave the store as they do not like people waiting in the lobby. She told me that the manager does not like people waiting. I got 2 orders of garlic knots delivered. When I called in the delivery I was told that the total was $16.51 including the delivery fee and asked if I had any special delivery instructions. I work overnights & requested that the driver calls me instead of ringing the door bell. I did not receive a phone call and was greeted by a young man who rang the door bell. The total was 18.68 and he did not have a pen. I had to run to go & find a pen all while the dog was barking the whole time. Which is exactly what I was trying to avoid in the first place. This location is trash. I ordered two pizzas a few weeks ago. Both came completely demolished like the boxes where thrown in a dryer (has to eat it with a fork). Tried to call, no one answered the whole day. Used the online customer service. They contacted me and said they would place credit on my account. We order pizza from here all the time. Recently, & especially this time, the pizza is seriously lacking. It's so awful & tasteless, dry & does not really taste fresh. I've tried to contact the local store @ William Cannon, but didn't get a response. Last time I spoke with a "manager" he wasn't even a manager & told me they'd add a free 2-liter next time! I'd probably stay away from this location. I will say that the delivery drivers are really nice, though. Ordered a pizza for lunch. My half was supposed to be spinach, onions, tomatoes, and bell pepper. One slice was bell pepper only, two slices had 2 pieces of tomatoes with a couple of strips of bell pepper and nothing else, one slice was perfect, ONLY ONE SLICE! I called this in and asked for the manager. There was silence for a few seconds then said I am the manager. Mind you, when she answered, said, "Thank you for calling Papa John's" but NEVER IDENTIFIED HERSELF. I had to ask her name. I don't believe I was speaking with a manager. I understand why this location has poor reviews. The manager here said it wasn't possible to run my gift card with just the card # and PIN, he'd need the physical card which I didn't have on me. So I called the Oltorf location and the manager there said it's indeed possible to run the card # without the physical card, they do it all the time. He even called over to the Wm. Cannon location for me to try to talk some sense into the Wm. Cannon manager (to no avail, the Wm. Cannon manager still said he couldn't process without the physical card). I tried my card # at the Oltorf location and of course they were able to run it with no problems. read more

When it comes to providing the service of delivery for consumers logistics is a big part of providing that service. This wasn't the case for our family during our last visit at the 500 W. William Cannon Drive location. The day before Valentine's Day my wife ordered 5 large Pizza's for our sons 1st grade Valentine's Day class party, the restaurant was well aware that the pizza's were for students at an elementary school. The pizza's were to arrive at noon for the party, but my wife would receive a call from our sons teacher at 12:30pm, not from the restaurant, explaining the pizza's had not been delivered. My wife called the restaurant with concern that the pizza's had not been delivered, to be given the excuse by the manager that the driver's car had broken down and conveyed another excuse that it was Valentine's Day and they were busy. The pizza's arrived a little after 1pm to the school and the children were content, however, these are elementary school children who are consistently on a schedule, a concern this location seem to not understand. I've read another review a year ago tethered to the same issue to time and delivery issues; it's understandable that things happen, however, the excused did not give confidence to us, the consumer, who rely that a service would be fulfilled, and that a business is able to meet the demands of holidays and unforeseen moments that would prevent a large order of pizza's from arriving 1 hour late for a trip that is calculated to take 5 minutes in distance. read more

Not sure what's going on at this store but the last two times I've ordered here, the pizza has been really, really thin (didn't order thin crust or NY style), dry and just overall terrible. It was like they made the pizza a couple hours prior and just sat it under a heat lamp. Pizza definitely wasn't freshly made and they definitely cheaped out on the amount of dough. So I ordered their wings and a 7 topping medium pizza, ended up being like $28... so 6$ for the wings and w.e. for the pizza. The wings turned out alright but that wasnt the problem. The pizza, the first time, came and had all of the 7 toppings "plopped" onto the center of the pizza in about a 2-3" diameter clump with the remainder of the pizza being cheese. I showed it to the delivery guy and he took it back to be remade. I was ASSURED by the fact that the GM herself was going to be the one making the pizza and he was going to finish his delivery and swing around. So he gets the new pizza to me, fully topped, but the pizza is about 70% cooked. I couldnt even pull a piece out without the entire slice stretching and dropping to pieces. I will order wings from here still. But pizza from your locations in south austin... I am done and suggest the same for others looking for pizza. read more

Was in the mood for Mexican food so I asked my friend to pick some up for us. He said no. He said since we had it yesterday he wasn't in the mood for it again. He knew I was helpless because I'd hurt my ankle the night before so I was stuck in bed icing and elevating. After a little "back and forth", a medium spicy Italian and chocolate chip cookie shows up about an hour later. In protest I refused to eat. Yes, I can be a stubborn brat that way. After a few hours I was starving. The cup of coffee had hit my stomach and I was going insane. I hobbled into the kitchen to the box. The remaining 3 pieces were pretty. Piled with meat and cheese. Plopped one along with a slice of the dense cookie (yeah, its cut like a pizza) onto a plate nuked them skeptically for 1 minute together. Hobbled back into the bedroom being sure that my friend noticed the side eye I gave then settled back intobd. Wasn't in the mood for what was in front of me but I'm never in the mood to starve. With as much diva attitude as Mariah I bit into the pizza and the stringy gooey cheese penetrated my uptight attitude. The crust was just the perfect combination crisp and tender. Along with the pepperoncini and garlic butter sauce I devoured the slice faster than I realized I could eat! My animal hunger still not quenched I turned to the cookie slice. I wasnt sure if it would be good. It was a bit darker around the edges than I like my cookies. Plus its pretty dense so I was prepared for a hard outside and an underdone inside. I was wrong. The outside was spot on crispy. And once you penetrated the exterior you're met by a moist cookie. Its like eating a perfectly homemade cookie! Also, there's a lot chocolate crammed in each slice. It reminded me of the cookies I make. I devoured it. I called my friend into the bedroom and told him he was a terrible person for not getting me what I really wanted. That he should be ashamed for being so selfish and buying pizza that I DID NOT want or enjoy. But that he should go warm up the remaining 2 pieces of pizza as well as 2 more slices of cookie for me since I was attempting to recuperate and needed sustenance to bounce back from such a serious injury. He didn't even give me the dignity of a side eye, he looked at me with irritation full on. But he took the plate to give me a re-up. Laying back I decided I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing that my desire for gooey cheese accompanied by savory flavors was being satisfied by his food choice. What can I say? It's Papa Johns. Whenever I'm feeling that hankering for pizza and wings, I order from here. Their site is super easy to use and I always order online. You can redeem promo codes and online shop their menu. If you sign up for it, you get one point for every $5 you spend and once you reach 25 points, you get a free pizza! But I think this special ends February 28th. If you sign up with them, they'll email you promo codes every now and then that are pretty significant. Always wait for a good deal before buying pizza because there always is one if you just wait a little bit. The detail that went into ordering from their online menu is amazing. You can specifically choose if you want ingredients on the whole pizza or just on the left or the right side. Snazzy. Their pizza is tasty and their buffalo wings are ridiculously good (best I've had in Austin, which seems weird to say..) I can't speak for the other locations, but this location is superb. They always have the pizzas ready on time and the employees that check me out are friendly and knowledgeable. Never had any problems with my order being wrong and it only takes me a couple minutes to go in and out. read more

PJ is my favorite fast food pizza anyway. Something happened where the discount didn't ring in right and I said something and the guy took half off the bill. When I went home I discovered my wife had done it right and I went back just to show him that I wasn't ripping him off. He wasn't there but his manager was, who after I told him everything was fine gave me a free pizza. Always fresh and the workers are always friendly. I was really sad about this place today because I've always ordered from here and never really had a problem. Yet today I just ordered the cheese sticks and when I came to pick it up, I had to wait an extra 15-20 minutes to get checked out. There was only 1 register running and the person at the register was taking an order over the phone. Then after waiting for awhile, the employee didn't even have the decency to apologize for having me wait that long to get checked out. I ordered pizza from here this past weekend. The pizza arrived and was cold. The delivery had taken forever so my guess is this is why it was cold. I called and wanted a refund but was given an option for them to resend the pizza or give me a store credit. Attention: Multiple reviews are saying the same thing about soggy, under cooked pizza. It baffles me that the standard is so low for this brand here in Texas. I've ordered here three times now and every single time two things happened; half of the pizza taste like though, it's chewy and uncut. And the pizza has an once arrived within the estimated time frame. I understand that it's an estimate but when it's consistently 20 or more minutes behind, it's probably time to update the estimate a time frames. On my most recent order specifically, I learned from my last two mistakes and asked that it be cooked well done and this one probably taste the most like though, it's an edible without putting it in my own oven first and re-cooking it, which completely defeats the purpose of ordering it if I have to cook it myself. read more
