Came here for dinner with a friend and we had a great time! We came on a Wednesday night and it was pretty empty for awhile which felt a little awkward but our server was super nice and the food was great! Very cute spot and decent happy hour prices.
Wrap was like half the size as last time I got it. I'll pay $20 for a sizable wrap but for one this tiny is crazy. Also, like 3 croutons in the whole thing. Whack.
If you come here I would not recommend adding any additional toppings. I added the stracciatella, sausage, and bell peppers and the bill came out to almost $50 for a 16 inch pizza. I thought the mozzarella would be the buffala mozzarella but it's just the regular string mozzarella. For the amount of peppers they put on the pizza, it should've been a free side. There wasn't much vodka sauce so the pizza was quite bland. I would def not recommend getting the vodka one - not sure why it's so popular. I should've just ordered from dominos or anywhere else for almost half the price. I wouldn't mind the price if the taste was actually incredible.
We came for Monday all night happy hour $5 off bill when you order appetizer + pizza together and some drink specials too I tried the frozen hibiscus margarita- delicious!! We also tried the arancini- also really good and are quite large too! Def enough for two people to share - probably best with 3/4 people We also did the vodka pizza with pepperoni added and it was amazing! Great pizza - really nice crust and sauce had a super nice flavor Service is good and everything came out in less than 20/30 minutes! A little more dark moody vibe inside the dining room especially after 7, and they have a small lot behind the building for parking too.

Then had their vodka pizza and added meat and onions - massive size which makes it worth the price. Very tasty pizza! Definitely will be back to try the others! Parking seems like it's just street parking so FYI on that on a busy night.

Went to La Volta on a date, and the vibes were there in full swing. It was evening date, so the restaurant was engulfed with a moody red ambience. The servers were ready to pair wines and cocktails with the food of our choice. The food was excellent, with cheese being imported from Italy. For starters, we got the Arancini Al Cacio e Pepe and they were soft, fluffy, gooey and delicious. Then we got the Vodka pie, and it was also exceeding our expectations. I could see myself coming back with a group of gal pals to enjoy a sultry, yet still casual, dinner!

It feels like one of those ranch style homes that got converted into a restaurant It was a bit hard to tell who the employees were since there are no uniforms, but someone eventually came up to us and had us seated. The menu is pretty small. There's a select few you can choose from, but they all seemed delicious. We had the Vodka Pizza, and the Peso Alla Genovese. We also ordered a bottle of wine since it was half off. I'm from NYC so I'm very picky about pizza, but this place brought me back to the city. The pizza isn't too thick or too thin. It's nice and soft on top with the crunchy base. The pasta was also incredibly delicious. The sauce is so creamy and flavorful that we dipped our pizza crust in the Pesto sauce Great place for either a casual meal, or a sweet date night. Will definitely come back

The pastas were okay! The pesto same thing was way too salty and the beef was nothing special. Overall for the price we wouldn't come back here again. You'd end up with a way more decent and delicious meal at home.

The bold red decor adds a unique, moody touch that makes the whole experience feel extra special. They also have a great happy hour Tuesday through Friday from 5-7 PM--definitely worth hitting up! It's a tiny place, so be sure to make a reservation.

The atmosphere is fun and casual while also having a cool vibe that feels kinda fancy. I think it was the red lights idk. Service was fantastic everyone was very knowledgeable. The food was incredible. We were blown away by the stracciatella pie. The white pie was also delicious. We got the desear salad as well to share and it made me understand why there are so many people with Caesar salad as their favorite food. The meatballs were also fantastic. Drinks were delicious. Good cocktails and the wine list wasn't overwhelming which I appreciate. Loved this place. Had so much fun. It's a lil spendy but I think that's definitely the kinda vibe of this place overall. Makes a good date night spot.

La Volta is the best!! Their pastas are to die for but their pizza is almost better! Such good portions so definitly go with a group... or you may have amazing leftovers! Service is always really quick and it's really cute at night when they turn on the dark red lights for a darker look. Have been back multiple times and it's great every time! read more
Date night here was delish! I loved the drinks and the pizza was so good that we were silent for a good amount of time just focused on devouring vodka pizza. Service was good; I must say that the music is a bit loud lol but still had a great time read more
Where do I start? La Volta reminds me of pizza shops in Italy with the white linen table cloths and of course style of pizza. It's a nice resaurant with pretty decor, excellent lighting and ambiance making it a special pie vibe indeed. Friendly service and most importantly, delicious food. The pizza and arancini balls are incredible. I mean who doesn't love Sicilian street food (the balls)? I know I do. The pizza crust is thin and cooked properly. I hate a rubbery thin crust. Won't get that here. Fresh & high quality ingredients. The sauce on the pies reminds me of Venice (Italy) pizza. read more

La Volta is such a great date night experience! The lights are red which really set a great vibe for a date. We got the meatballs, a Caesar salad, and spicy vodka pizza. I got a margarita and my date got an old fashioned. The service was nice but the only critique I have is to turn the TV off cause it wasn't super aesthetic. Would give it a 4.5 if I could! Amazing small pizza shop in downtown Austin! Located in a cute little house, the vibes are immaculate and the pizza was even better. My husband & I shared the vodka pie + added pepperoni and pepperoncini and a Caesar salad and both were outstanding. Service was also very good! The only reason I'm taking off a star is because of the added fee for credit card payments + the mixed beverage tax that is additional, I think both of these things are just a cost of doing business especially in a higher end restaurant. Went here last night for Valentine's Day & was extremely impressed by all our dishes! We got the beef meatballs (the most tender meatballs I've ever had), caesar salad (also the best caesar I've ever had), & the classic pie. I also got a sparkling lemonade which is nonalcoholic & it was delicious! We got seated in the back room which was nice as there weren't many tables, I think 4-5, so it was a bit quiter. The lights were nice & dimmed for a romantic vibe & our server was just the sweetest. My one note/suggestion - if you plan to go during a busy time or on a holiday, go early as they do run out of menu items! I kinda like that though, a business not just buying an over abundance of things & things going to waste. Our server said they were absolutely slammed the entire day, so again if you're going at a peak time, just keep in mind options may be a bit limited. They have a smaller menu which I appreciate as well, because everywhere just has way too many options.. La Volta definitely knows what they're doing!! 10/10 experience & highly recommend, we'll definitely be back. read more

Simple menu, quality ingredients. Also had the easy does it cocktail while I waited which was delicious. The vodka pie is not too spicy but has a nice kick. I wasn't a huge fan of the crust because it was kind of bland compared to the yummy goodness of the rest of the slice. Nice outdoor seating in back. read more

I came in expecting pretty good pizza, but was surprised with outstanding service and one of the best pizzas in Austin. The Caesar salad was delicious . Do yourself a favor and add the anchovies. Such a game changer! We opted for the Stracciatella Pie half serrano peppers and half olives. Crust was perfectly crispy and chewy and the tomato sauce had the perfect consistency. Our waitress was so sweet and talkative. Definitely a great choice for a pizza date. read more

So originally we wanted to get Sammataro Pizza because I have never tried it but I think it was closed and we found that this place had a similar menu. I'm still not sure if it's the same or what the connection this place has to Sammataro but I do know that THE PIZZA IS BOMB. We got the original and my husband and I were able to eat the WHOLE pizza by ourselves in a single sitting. It was not because we wanted to, it was because it tasted so good that we could not stop eating even though we were full. It was addicting. So much so that as I write this review I want to go back and buy some more. I HIGHLY recommend adding garlic to your pizza it will not disappoint. The picture I took may look average but this is one of my favorite pizzas by far in Austin. read more

I was in earlier to pick up a spicy chicken Caesar wrap, been wanting to try it for a few weeks and the guys were really nice and asked me to drop a review here so here it is: I'm not going to lie I was a little disappointed. I think the flavors meshed nicely but as soon as I took off the layers of butcher paper it was an oily mess. Not sure where in the process (maybe tossing the chicken in hot oil?) it gets so oily and wet but yeah it was just hard to eat and borderline soggy. Washed my hands twice during the meal. It was decent, but I enjoyed the slice of pizza more. Overall, 6/10 not worth $17. read more
The caesar salad was plain and not special. I wouldn't be surprised if it came from a salad kit because it was very underwhelming. Also, the white pizza came out warm not hot, and overall it didn't feel fresh. The texture of each slice varied tremendously and the flavor was bland and uninteresting. Damn good pizza. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. Add the burata (6 bucks) to your pie for a nice treat. Meatballs (15 bucks) are an under rated star of the show.. wonderful texture in a slightly spicy marinara.. addicted, Only small comment is that it's exceptionally pricey. Last order was 68 dollars for one pizza w a few toppings and side of meatballs, almost 80 with the tip. That said, been there enough to think it's great and I'll be back. read more
Great to see Sammataro now have a brick and mortar open - the space is intimate and comfortable. The music and artistic design make the space fun to dine here. The arancini, meatballs, salad and a pizza are my go to order! The Vodka Pie is a must - get some Calabrian chiles on the side. Service is great and you can grab a drink at the bar while waiting for a table. No reservations. read more

Some of the best pizza I've ever had in Austin. You get a LOT of high quality pizza for the price. They have a small but solid drink menu and their Cesar salad is great. They charge $4 for sides like ranch and chili oil which is a bit outrageous but the pizza doesn't need it. The hostesses are so friendly and kind. Pro tip: they don't make reservations and they only seat full parties, so make sure your friends and family arrive on time! There's street parking around the building. I docked one star for two reasons: the music is SO LOUD. I mean like nightclub level loud. You can barely hear the other members of your party. It doesn't fit the vibe of the restaurant at all and was super obnoxious and frustrating. Also, it is a super light and airy space but there are no blinds on the windows -- so the sun shines directly onto some of the tables and it gets HOT. My friends and I were seated inside up against the window facing the sun (it was around 85-90 degrees outside) and we were SWEATING. Imagine how hot it'll get when it's the dead of summer! So I highly, highly recommend turning down the music and installing some light filtering shades to stave off some of that Texas sun. With those fixes, this restaurant will be practically perfect. read more
