    Pistachio Cannoli

Overall: 3.8/5 [take out] We ordered a box of Pistachio Cannoli ($5.99 each) for a Sicilian themed dinner party. While I waited for my order it was cool to watch them make pizza right in front of me and the smell was wonderful. The cannoli were huge and each couple ended up sharing one and we still had leftovers. The cream filling was really light and subtly sweet while the pastry shell was on the softer side for a fried shell. It was different from what I was expecting but an interesting dessert to try.

Wow, wow! What can I say about this place? I give it a 10! Coming from Houston, I still have yet to find a pizza place that will top this one! We ordered the Margherita D.O.P. and were so happy with that choice; the pizza was spectacular! We loved every single bite of it and ended up ordering another one of it, but 16 inches this time to go. We also got the Pistachio Cannoli and Triple Chocolate Cannoli, and although I'm not a big fan of cannolis, my husband likes them a lot, and he said they were one of the best ones he had tried. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for something delicious and extremely fast! Will definitely come back here

Such a delicious spot both items ordered were delicious but the meatballs for me took the cake! Served steaming hot the meatball itself was flavorful, juicy & tender. The sauce tasted very fresh to me and also full of flavor. My only critique would maybe be adding a bit more fresh herb/basil to the meatball itself. The pizza also was served piping hot & was delicious, the pepperoni and sauce were perfectly rationed and the crust alone was crispy yet soft. It is kinda a small joint but big in flavor :-) the establishment was clean & staff was friendly and attentive. overall very flavorful and definitely worth trying out!

I was craving a delicious stone fired pizza and decided to walk to this place! Truly hit the mark in every way! they had a wide variety of Italian drinks, food, and snacks! This made it feel authentic and enjoyable. Service was quick and courteous.

Amazing wood-burning oven pizza Venue: order and pick up style. Few small tables. Service: not a full service type of place as you order and pick up but everyone here were very friendly. All I can say is "wow" - what a craft pizza. The dough was perfect - crispy outside and chewy. I got hot honey pepperoni which I thought I was being bold ordering something unusual but I had a taste profile in my head which will go and uniquely and I am so glad I ordered it because it was beyond my expectations of how delicious hot honey pepperoni pizza. It was perfectly Sweet and salty. Margarita pizza was amazing too- perfect portions which rich in flavor. I'm glad we stopped by here while we are in DT Austin. Highly recommend to stop by for an amazing pie! Price: reasonable

We were in Texas for the Thanksgiving holiday, and decided to take a road-trip up to Austin. We stayed in the city center and hit up several of the bars in downtown. We wanted a late dinner on a Sunday, and most restaurants were closed. DeSano was the only thing open, and it had great reviews. Well it did not disappoint! We were there just shy of 9PM on a Sunday as they were about to close. We walked in and the whole staff warmly greeted us, and explained their menu. They were friendly and patient with us. We love spice, and we had to try the Pizza Specialita Diavola. This pie is a red sauce pizza with buffalo & scamorza mozzarellas, soppressata, pepperoni, garlic, pecorino and Calabrian peppers. I was not familiar with scamorza mozzarella which happens to be a drier, firmer, sometimes smoky, with a more concentrated flavor of mozzarella cheese. The flavors were all on point. The sauce was just the right amount, the cheeses were gooey and stretchy, and the spice level was just enough to remind me I was eating a specialty pizza with an extra kick. The decor was industrial farm-modern. Very clean and inviting at the same time. We were the only patrons ordering the last pie for the night, so I cannot comment on the general ambiance or vibe from patrons. We took the pie back to the hotel an enjoyed as we saw our last day in Texas come to a close. When I got back to California, I researched the place, and realized it's a chain. It definitely did not give me that vibe, which is a huge compliment. They are definitely doing it right.

Good pizza for sure! Let me say that the staff here was amazing. The food was decent as well. I thought it was good not amazing. A little on the pricey side a 12" pie cost me $30 bucks. I would definitely go back if for no reason other than the service. Crust was amazing I could have used a pinch of sugar in my dough but good nonetheless.

We ordered this pizza for delivery and really enjoyed it! The thin woodfired crust is my favorite. I want to go to the actual restaurant to order it next time. We randomly ordered it on doordash when we had a gift card and a long work day. I had heard about this place from someone at run club and remembered it. We ordered 2 pizzas and it was pretty expensive which is why we chose to order it when we had a gift card. Now that we know how good it is we will definitely visit in person for the full experience soon. Yum! I got the verdura: spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic, scamorza (cheese), mozzarella di bufalo (the best part), pecorino romano and olive oil. Delicious!

We came here on a weeknight after our bat tour and the staff was very friendly and kind as it was our first time trying the pizza. My husband who is from NY enjoyed the pizza and said both the sauce and the crust was on point. The pizza came out very fast -- within 10 minutes and had so much flavor. Our salad came after the pizza, so we got it to-go. They have a sign saying they don't sell ranch, but they sell a rich butter to dip your pizza in. And it was pretty good you just shouldn't think about how it's butter when you dip your pizza into it. Definitely would recommend the pizza for anyone craving some good NY style pizza! They have a few tables inside and then one large table in a separate room in the front if you're feeling a little self-conscious about all the food you're ordering.

you want a good Neapolitan pizza? DeSano is the spot!!! Fluffy crust, quality cheese, the perfect amount of tomato base, perfection on a pizza! This location is very small and we had to share tables with others but I liked the atmosphere! It was cozy, people were nice, and service was quick! No complaints at all, ready to go back and try more of their pizzas!

Favorite pizza place in town! Over-the-counter service, and hole-in-the-wall ambiance that gives it a New York vibe. Go go go.

    ROASTED GARLIC & SAUSAGE PIE

First time that I've eaten inside, rather than doing takeout. My pizza was the Roasted Garlic & Sausage with San Marzano tomato sauce, scamorza, oregano, Italian sausage, roasted garlic and pecorini romano. It was delicious, had plenty of sauce and other ingredients. Definitely worth getting again.

    Diavolo pizza
    Rick K.

The pizza was very good. We got the diavolo which had great flavor and the right amount of spice. Crust was right balance of crispiness and douginess. It was a touch overcooked giving the crust a bunch of blackened burnt areas. A nice selection of wine that hits a range of price points. Counter service was pleasant and we sat in the dough room surrounded by equipment which was kinda fun. If they can reduce the burnt parts, I'd be back often. If the blackening is part of their offering then I'll probably pass.

I've spent my life chasing the perfect crust, comparing everything from the legendary pie shops in Manhattan to the pristine corner slices in Pittsburgh. I didn't think Austin could pull off truly authentic pizza. I was dead wrong. Baldinucci is absolute sorcery. The moment I took a bite of their Roman-style pizza, I was instantly thrown back to the tiny, narrow pizzerias I stumbled into in Italy. It has that exact, hyper-specific airy crunch that is so incredibly hard to replicate outside of Europe. The dough is clearly fermented with patience. It's light, shatteringly crisp on the bottom, and has those beautiful, irregular air pockets that give it a pillowy structure without ever feeling heavy. Let's talk about the sauce, because that's where most places fail. It isn't that sugary, paste-heavy stuff you find at standard joints. It is vibrant, bright, and tastes intensely of sun-ripened tomatoes and clean olive oil. It is remarkably fresco; striking that perfect balance where the acidity cuts through the richness of the cheese without overwhelming the palate. The vibe inside the West Lake spot is casual and unpretentious, but they take their craft seriously. Food service is streamlined and efficient; you order at the counter, and they pop the slices back into the oven so they land at your table screaming hot. The staff is genuinely proud of what they're slinging, and they should be. If you are an East Coast transplant drowning in a sea of mediocre pies, do yourself a favor and get over to West Lake.
