I like Papa Johns quite a bit and it's really convenient because if you are in West Park, especially the bar next-door and the kitchen closes at 10 PM... You can always walk right next-door and order your Papa John's and then go back and finish your drink. This particular review is actually for a specific person on a Friday night a few weeks ago when the World Cup first started. A group of us were in PJ McIntyre's and wanted to grab pizza to go so we walked into the Papa Johns and immediately noticed there was one employee working by himself on a Friday night. This guy was running an entire restaurant answering the phone and picking up tickets and making pizzas all by himself. I really felt for the guy because he didn't seem to be in a bad mood about it and he just kept going forward. My only regret is I did not have cash to tip him or I absolutely would have. I don't know his name, but he was probably in his late 40s to early 50s and I give this guy all the credit in the world. I generally like Papa John's. The gentleman working here was all by himself. I was very impressed. He was pushing out orders quickly. We ordered online. We did have to wait a little longer for our pizza, but I understand why. He was focused and friendly. I would expect someone working by himself to have an attitude, but not him. I had an absolutely terrible experience with Papa John's. I placed an order over the phone for two large cheese pizzas with chicken as a topping. When the pizzas were delivered, there was no chicken on either pizza. I immediately called the store to let them know about the mistake, and instead of trying to help or resolve the issue, the employee told me that I never asked for chicken. That's simply not true. The phone call was recorded, and it would clearly show that I specifically requested chicken on both pizzas. What made the situation even worse was the complete lack of customer service. Rather than listening to my concern or offering any solution, the employee hung up on me while I was trying to explain the problem. Being accused of lying and then having the call ended in my face is completely unacceptable. Mistakes happen, but how a business handles those mistakes says everything about its customer service. Unfortunately, this experience showed a total lack of professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers. I paid for a product I didn't receive and was treated poorly when I called for help. I called the Kamm's corner location to place a delivery order for a large pizza. After getting out of work, I had spoken to my boyfriend on the phone. Him and a friend of his had been working in the front yard cutting and laying cement all day. He said he hadn't eaten since breakfast and was hungry. I had a lot of running around to do. When I called l, Christina(I believe her name was) answered. I ordered a pizza and told her they had been outside working hard all day and was going to surprise him. That the men in the front are the people it's for and don't know it's coming. After the pizza was delivered, I get a thank you text message from him. Following was a picture of the pizza box. I had no idea what she did. Christina wrote "surprise. Enjoy. Kathy" and drew a cute smiley face and hearts. I thought wow. That's awesome! She took the surprise a step further. She didn't have to do it, but did. She went that mile. Not only did the surprise make my boyfriend smile, but that made my day. Not that employees have time do that all the time. But she took the time to go out of her way to do something selfless. From that small action, that tells me that she cares for her customers. She deserves praise for her act of random kindness. The new owner at Papa Johns in Berea at BW college, is rude to his employees degrading them in front of customers. He is all about " culture" his words, when hiring and with that meaning his own culture. New employees do not know the difference between pork, sausage, and pepperoni .. I can not make this up. This is a pizza place in a college area, but I would not recommend it. Manager let go of employees who knew their job for employees that management dresses to impress with all the papa John gear but is not familiar with the American gewey pizza! read more

I rolled my eyes a little when my brother told me that he wanted to order a pizza from Papa John's, because I'm biased against pizza that comes out of a chain big enough to have television commercials. I was so indifferent that I let him order whatever he wanted without my input, and wasn't even sure that I would eat any of it. But when I did, I was pleasantly surprised. He ordered the Tuscan Six Cheese, his favorite, and it was a very enjoyable pizza. Nothing incredible, but it tasted good, wasn't too thick or thin, and wasn't any greasier than I would expect of a pizza made by a chain pizza shop (read: it was a little greasy). For what we were getting, it seemed a little overpriced, but for easy takeout, it worked. read more

Classic example of why I've given up on corporate pizza. Less than quality ingredients at outrageous prices. I ordered a XL half and half customized pizza ( after realizing two medium pizza, one specialty, and a two liter was $45!!! ) The entire thing was supposed to be extra cheese. I ordered a Spinach pizza, garlic cheese knots, and a 2-liter from this store on Easter Sunday, (which I felt guilty about, being a service industry person myself... We know it sucks to work on holidays), but was so glad with the experience. My driver was quick, on top of knowing what I ordered and so friendly and sweet. He made me smile, and seemed to care very much about doing a great job, (which he did). I ordered online, and was able to track my food via their website before it arrived as well. Long story short my buddy and I ordered a pizza and it never came. Don't t waste your time or money on this place.

So I figured I'd give them a chance again. It's been at least six months. Now I remember why. I ordered pizza, cheese sticks and one of the cookie pizzas. I opened the breadsticks and was greeted with flat dough with some cheese. So I decided to try the pizza. Too much cheese and too much sauce. (Not to mention the sauce was yucky). So I scrape all the toppings off the pizza and decide to eat the dough and the garlic dip. It was edible, but not necessarily enjoyable. Ordered delivery via grub hub and received my pizza still very hot less than 30 minutes later. I do love Papa John's pizza, and there are some bad locations out there, but this is not one of them. I called to order a pizza and the guy had me repeat myself 3 times and then hung up on me. I called back and he said he couldn't understand me. Not once did he say it was hard to hear me and so I asked for a manager. The manager came on the phone and was just as rude. I told him how his employee acted and his response was "um ok so what do you want?" I am not one to leave poor reviews but I'm genuinely in shock by how awful the service was here.
