I get pizza pretty often, probably more than I should...but sometimes nothing hits like a good slice. Sure, I could make it at home, but it just doesn't hit the same, you know? I usually rotate between two spots. One is more expensive but has bigger slices and way better flavor (though the crust could be improved). The other place has decent deals, but the slices are small, they never cut the pizza all the way through, and the taste doesn't really compare to something like Papa John's. That said, this one spot I recently tried has been seriously impressive, great pizza every time, and the staff are actually friendly and on point, which makes a big difference. read more

Although the staff and service is usually pretty quick and friendly I feel like the quality of any of their food has gone down so much in the last year. The last time our family ordered from there the pizza was slimy and the crust was beyond tough to try to chew. Papa Johns used to be pretty good pizza. You expected to pay a little bit more, but you get a better pizza. I ordered two medium pizzas today for carry out. One Mediterranean and one chicken Alfredo. The cost was $28.81 AFTER a 25% off coupon. There was no chicken on the chicken Alfredo pizza. Both were thin crust and both were not crispy. The Mediterranean pizza was missing cheese. There are quite a few pizza places to get pizza in Newport. Save your money and get the little Caesar's 5 dollar "pizza pizza" deal, at least you won't pay nearly 30 bucks for terrible quality. I must say that $19.55 was a steep price for a small pepperoni and cheese. The crust was not good and it was burned on the edges. We couldn't eat the whole pizza. So I order from this papa johns often. The past 3 times my order was wrong. I always ask for AND pay for extra peppers and never get them. The last time I got a completely different order. Tried to call back but no one ever answers the phone. Usually doesn't take long to get here and the people are friendly but it's just a random order, very rarely do I get what I actually paid for.
