I cannot give more than a few stars for the lack of inches of toppings and the poor prep. Of the 14 inch large we ordered, there was 2.5 inches (5 in) of crust all the way around with no toppings. The 14 inch diameter became 9 inches. This was essentially 2 larges When I called I was on hold for 30 minutes- a lot of inexperience with poor leadership, bad training has lead to poor service and mass customer exodus! I love our neighborhood Papa John's on Warrior Drive in Stephens City, VA. It is consistently friendly and clean, with fast service, and of course pizzas are always just right! The owner is an asset to our community and helps support local activities. One of my favorite summertime activities is to hang out at the pool with the kids - we always order delivery from Papa John's and they include plates, napkins, cups and deliver soft drinks too. If you order from this place, watch your receipt! They overcharged me more than $5 for a pizza. We called and were told we'd get a credit on our next order. The next time we went they jacked up the price of our $11 pizza to more than $23, then discounted that, so they were going to charge me over $13 for a pizza that should have been only $11 to begin with, then with a credit for the overcharge, should have been $5 and change. The manager couldn't understand why I wasn't happy with the "discount" he was giving me. Overcharging a customer once is an oversight. I have never been disappointed with the food from this pizza place. I think it is interesting that the two other commercial pizza businesses closer to Middletown do not deliver. Pizza Hut stopped coming to Middletown after years of delivering. Papa Johns pizza has a good flavorful sauce, fresh toppings and a great crust. Some suggestions: add more diet soda i.e..diet Orange Crush, diet Dr. Pepper...etc. Those of you that are stopping in Stephen City for they night would do well to get pizza from Papa Johns. I've moved around quite a few times, and this papa's location is great. They're polite, never mess up an order, and always cooked by the book. This location definitely has their stuff together. We were ordering from Domino's in Stephens city, but they are terrible! Seriously SC Domino's is the worst location ever. Papa's FTW! read more
