I like the food here considering the few choices from a small town. Sometimes I get something different just to see. I got bolognese sauce. It was a good sauce, but really it was just tomato sauce with meat. The breadsticks and toasted cheese ravi were satisfying. I will eat here again, but will order a sure thing. read more

Although the pizza is good the toppings are very thin, $37 and almost no sausage and so far, four anchovies. won't order from there again due to let's say "very non-generous" amounts of toppings for the money. I just did pizza at this location. I was with my wife and she wanted the meat lovers pizza, 14". When they brought the pizza out, I was quite frankly shocked by what I was looking at! In all the years of eating pizza, I never have seen a more sorry looking pizza! The edges were burnt, the crust was soggy from all the grease from the thickest pepperoni on a pizza I ever seen. Very little tasteless sauce and way too much cheese that added to the pepperoni grease. I only ate a little as I was very hungry.My wife expressed similar thoughts. It's all my fault, I bought into LEDOs hype of the square pizza and not cutting corners. Terrible location, poor staffing by unsupervised kids. Manager was a piece of work. ordered a pizza online. when I arrived they said they didn't get an order. I placed an order a was told 15 minutes. after 15 minutes I seen the girl at the counter tell the manager the pizza was not done. she went in the kitchen were I overheard the kitchen people had not made it. After 45 minutes the pizza arrived. the kitchen staff were unkepted and didn't look like they should even be making food, I am sure healthcode violations. The manager was a smart ass. Wow, for my first Ledo's experience, this was terrible. I've had better gas station or frozen pizza (as far as the deluxe style) pizza goes. The pizza just had no unique flavor other than grease. The pepperoni on the deluxe was not even fully cooked. The real kick in the pants came from the white pizza. That was just the worst thing I've ever had from a pizza place in my life. It was so thin, no thickness at all, it was hard and crunchy. A saltine cracker tasted better than that abomination. I actually created this account to warn people not to get the white Italian pizza. Went to leado's for lunch but A foul smell and buzzing sound made it unable for us to enjoy lunch there. Side note the food there is normally good, the staff is friendly and they recently renovated. Best cauliflower crust I've had hands down. At 9.99 for cauliflower crust you can't beat it. If u want to eat the whole thing like I always do and not feel bloated and gross rest of day cauliflower is way to go and low on carbs for those who count. Recently moved to the area and decided to try them despite some lackluster reviews. I got a really great pizza, much better than I expected and as good as any I've had. I was so impressed I tried them again a few weeks later and once again, got a great pizza. I most recently stopped by for lunch and had a very good steak and cheese sub, with excellent service. I was told it has recently changed hands and under this management, in my opinion, it is very good place for pizza and subs. I recommend re-visiting if you haven't tried them in a while. I really like Ledo. I'm giving 3 stars based on service of 1/29/12. I know Ledo Pizza well. Friends of mine went to U of M and would bring some back and we'd eat on campus. Later in life, I worked for a Ledo for a few months. I have eaten at this location several times, both in the restaurant and carry out orders. This past Sunday, we went in for lunch. We selected a table near the back and sat down. Silverware was already on the table and the server came by promptly. After we did place our order, I feel like we were forgotten. As far as I could see, there were only two servers and the servers were also running the front counter. The restaurant was quickly filling up with dine-in customers. We had ordered an appetizer (breadsticks and Ledo sauce). I had to get up and go ask the server about our appetizer and she said that it would be out in a moment. The sauce was cold. Well, it was't ** COLD **, but it wasn't even room temperature. It could have been heated up. Also, the server did not clear our used plates right away, even after bringing our order to the table. I'll go back again, but the Front Royal Ledo needs to improve, especially for the dine-in experience. read more

Ledo has pizza, subs, and a smattering of pasta. The pizza has a thin crust and zesty tomato sauce. They have a variety of toppings available. The pepperoni is somewhat spicy, but I do not recommend the sausage as it is always damp and blanched. They do offer chorizo as a topping, which is tasty unto itself, but does not seem to mesh well with the pizza or pasta. The pasta has a slightly thin sauce, but does come with a good portion of meat or vegetables, your choice. The subs range from good to excellent; it varies enough that it may depend on the chef. The last time we went, the bread was perfect. Tender, slightly crisp outside, fluffy. I like the turkey club, or steak and cheese. Hubby likes the chicken parmesan. Fries can be ordered, but at an additional cost. I do note that the fried raviolis are a good appetizer, slightly zesty as well. The desserts also look delicious when they float past, but I have yet to order one. The service can be lacking. Some of the regular waitresses take too many smoke breaks. They stand at the door in the back of the restaurant and prop it open while they get their fix. During the course of one meal, our waitress took four smoke breaks. It seems that they lack focus and management, and it is also unpleasant for the waitress to leave a pungent trail as she gads about. Was in this weekend with a group and everyone enjoyed the food. We ordered several orders of Garlic Bread which were very good and several types of pizza. Two large Meat Lovers, one large Ham/Pineapple and one large Sweet/Spicy. All were very popular with the Sweet/Spicy being the least favorite. The service was very good as well. Will definitely be back. I went back recently and left very disappointed. The service was terrible and the food worse. I got the hot wings and these were likely the worse I've ever had. Ledo doesn't taste bad, but it is a bit crispy for my usual taste. Every now and then I get a hankering for it, because they have very nice, fresh toppings, the aauce has an extra zing of spice, and it is out of the ordinary. But there is a reason NY is famous for its slices of pizza, and MD is not known for its squares of imitation pizza product. Reviews mentioning too much grease are spot on. Usually the cardboard beneath is stained (STAINED!) with absorbed grease. Of course, many will object all pizza is greasy. Yes, that is why you fold it in half like a civilized human being, and let the fold channel out the undesirable oil. I love Ledo's I really do. Unfortunately I have never been able to get an accurate order from this location. I just ordered a pizza with extra cheese, pepperoni, mushrooms, and meatballs. I was told 15-20 minutes. I showed up after ten and told my order was ready. I was shown a bowl of sauce and asked if that was enough sauce. I said sure before asking what the sauce was for. (I LOVE their sauce so I am fine with a side of sauce but figured something was wrong). Apparently my order was for pasta - NO I said, I definitely ordered a pizza. Oh wait, my order is correct it will be just a minute. Another fifteen minutes later, my pizza is done, with two of the four toppings correct. Now clearly my order was not ready, they had prepared pasta and made the pizza when I got there and found the mistake. I'm personally not a fan of thin crust pizza, but oh my goshhhhh this crust melts in your mouth. It's so light and so crunchy and so flavorful. I highly recommend Ledo Pizza! As a long-time fan of Ledo pizza, married to someone who has been a Ledo's connisueur since the 60's, I was pleased to find that this location (a franchise) is clean, pleasant, and well managed. The pizza was up to par (although the franchises are never QUITE as good as the old location in Adelphi, MD, which closed a few years ago), the service cheerful and efficient, and everything nice and clean. (I always check out bathrooms as a barometer for how clean a restaurant kitchen may be. If the bathrooms aren't, the kitchen is likely a disaster area.) We had pepperoni pizza and a Pop Pie pizza -- a terrible pun on the fact that it is a white pizza with some spinach (Pop Pie = Popeye, get it? No? Neither did any of us). Truth is, the Pop Pie has tomato and basil, too, so the name Pizza Capprese (like the tomato/basil salad capprese) might be a better option. Ledo pepperoni is thicker-cut and more flavorful than ANY other pizza's, with delightful little puddles of melted fat in the center of each pepp slice. You will not find a better pepperoni pizza. A bad Ledo's is better than a great anything else. The Pop Pie pizza was a much lighter experience, and that touch of basil was a delightful plus. This may be my new Ledo favorite from here on. If you're not familiar with Ledo's (founded in 1955), you should know that their pizzas are SQUARE (actually rectangular, for you geometry finatics) and a medium fits on one tray/box, while a large is twice that size. Get the large: the leftovers are fabulous right out of the fridge. They nuke nicely too. Ledo's crust is thin, not quite like pie crust (certainly not flaky), but not bready or voluminous. When I first tried it in the late 80's, I wasn't sold immediately (having been a fan of Armand's deep-dish pizza, which was almost like a 1" tall loaf of bread with things on top), but I soon came around to the idea of a thin, light pizza that was much more flavorful than deep-dish. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out on part of living in this region. Give it a try -- and order a $3.99 house salad (the balsamic vinegrette is excellent) to round out the meal. It's one of the nicest, and cheapest, side salads around. read more

When making yearly visits to family in the DC area, Ledo Pizza is a must-stop on the way back home. Conveniently located off I66 (just before I81), this location provides the same quality as the others I've tried in the DC/MD area. Ledo pizza is a square pizza, but not like the square pizza you remembered from the cafeteria in elementary school. It's baked upon a very thin, flaky crust. We always get just cheese, but I've tried some others they offer. I really like their white pizza but found the pepperoni pizza overly greasy. The sauce is slightly sweet, so I always heap on the crushed red pepper to give it some spice to counteract the sweetness. We are big pizza fans in my family and I have found no other chain that provides the consistent quality, great taste and uniqueness as Ledo. read more
