I feel compelled to update my very negative previous review. I have to eat my words. The pizza here is definitely the best that I have tried in the area including some very highly rated pizza restaurants. We now regularly order delivery pizza and wings and thoroughly enjoy the meal. I have again recommended Italian Delight to many of my neighbors. Another tip to share... The pizza is even better when you dine in. Our friends insisted we "must" try Italian Delight. Italian Delight is a quintessential Americanized-Italian restaurant situated in a neighborhood shopping-center. They are doing a great job of representing in this space. We showed up at 2:15 on a Friday afternoon and expectedly there weren't many others dining at the time. These are the kinds of times when it's easy for the workers to miss the mark on food and service because there's no external pressure to keep the flow going. But not this time. They met us right away sat us in a nice clean booth and treated us very well. Of all the many menu choices we settled for a small calzone and a small Italian hoagie. There are some things on the menu that are good. The fat boys are good, especially with the marinara sauce to dip them in. The steak sub is good. Otherwise, it's just eh. The pizza is just ok. A lot of it tastes like it's prepackaged or something. Definitely not fresh. If you want Italian-ish style food, it's an ok place to eat. If you're looking for authentic Italian food, freshly made, this is not the place. If you've only eaten at cracker barrel your whole life, this place will feel exotic. Was passing through town while traveling, got to our hotel about 10 and was looking for something other than fast food to eat. Pizza sounded good so we ordered from here since it was open late. Ordering online through website, was really easy. Said it would be ready in 20 minutes, arrived at store in 15 and it was ready. Friendly staff, was in and out quick. Pizza was really good, got half cheese, half pepperoni. Good thin NY style pizza, fed three of us and had a couple slices to eat cold for breakfast! A brand new italian restaurant that offers the traditional dishes and pizzaria favorites that will soon be a favorite in the area. It competes very well against the others in the area. I had the eggplant rolatini, tuna salad, and cheesecake and was extremely satisfied. The sauce is robust and flavorful. Large portions of eggplant hand battered and stuffed with spinach and cheese. The salad had ample tuna that wasn't soggy at all nor full of mayonnaise. The cheesecake was light and seemed homemade. I can't wait to try the cheese steaks, molten lava cake, cannoli, calzone, and pizzas! Delivery was within 30 mins and the gentleman was very pleasant as well as the staff taking the order and the chef explaining how he preps the meal (a big help in that I didn't want pre-made or frozen food). I would check your credit card statements or pay cash only. Their credit card database was hacked and cards were compromised, but they told my boyfriend that the hackers were caught. Impossible within a short time frame especially in a small town where cyber theft is not exactly the main priority here. Read the not recommended reviews for more info. Cash only for future orders which makes it more complicated to take time to get money just to order when I can pick up instead. Also, my card was getting Marriott and gasoline charges in Peru this past summer by a "swiped" plastic card. My card company alerted me and also are tracing it. The businesses could do their part by securing client information to employees or reporting compromise to authorities. This has now changed how I call in ANY ORDER to places that employ illegals. We have tried the Salads, Pizza, subs and Spaghetti. The service is good. The portions are generous. The food can be bland. Their antipasta salad is the best and quite large. I don't care for passing sub rolls as the "bread". My preference would be Itslian bread. read more

Absolutely love this place! We travel often to this area, and practically live off of this food! Before I tell you my favs, I must say that the people who work here are the best! Fat boy with everything is bangin'! I thought you were supposed to share these, but I usually only get 1 piece . My son is very persnickety about food, but Italian Delight is accommodating to the customer. He loves a cheesesteak with bacon and BBQ. Vodka al Brereton is another favorite, tortellini with vodka sauce, red peppers and chicken We add mushrooms too. I love that the sauce is just as tasty as the food, I could eat just the sauce! I've ordered several times from this establishment and typically the food experience has been very good, which is the reason why they're getting 2 stars instead of 1. However today after spending $50 on wings the food was not up to the "typical" Italian Delight standards. So I call back and get transferred to the "manager" in which I explained to her that the order of wingdings I ordered were supposed to have bbq sauce on the wings instead of on the side like they sent me, it even shows sauce "on" wings on the receipt. Typically this would not be a big deal however the amount of bbq sauce was hardly enough to cover 3 wings let alone 10. The second problem was that the 2 orders of mild buffalo wings I ordered barely had any buffalo sauce on them. My main problem is that when I expressed my concerns to the "manager" she immediately went into defensive mode and tone, and said "what is it you want us to do about it?" Instead of apologizing and looking for meaningful "great customer service" solutions. I never asked for my money back I just wanted to get the issues fixed, and in return got talked to as if I was lying to her. Well You can look at the pictures for yourself. Your establishment is not judged for doing things the right way because thats what your supposed to do when people pay for your services. My husband, father, and father in law went here after an exhausting four days of moving all our things cross country. They are in a close location to our house so they decided to try it out! They loved it so much they took me as soon as I flew in! It was delicious and lived up to the hype. So fun to get free garlic knots -- very unique! The menu was full of things I wanted to try but ended up with the thin crust Philly cheesesteak pizza! It was HUGE!! My family has been ordering from Italian Delight about once a month for at least two years. We try to eat local/support local. This place gets three stars because they have good sauce, seem to use decent ingredients, and half the orders turn out well. When they are having a "good night", their pizza is my favorite in this county and the fat boys are amazing. This places loses two stars because they don't get the order right 25% of the time. They are VERY inconsistent. And they do not take criticism well. If the manager gives you a credit, it's actually fake as well and they will deny its existence when you try to use it. When you order you never know if they are on point that day or not. Awful experience with the management. I've been a loyal and frequent customer at this restaurant since they first opened, over 15 years ago. During my last visit, which was over three months ago, a manager refused to do her job by talking to another customer about her SCREAMING child. I don't mean being loud, yelling or crying. But literally screaming for at least 40 minutes - and perhaps since they entered the restaurant - before I arrived. I sat at my booth for roughly 15-20 minutes before my lunch was served. Long story short, despite my obvious outward signs of being frustrated and being noticed by at least three staff members, including the manager on duty, absolutely nothing was done to remedy the situation. They literally stood there watching the parent and the child. I stood up and politely but firmly asked the parent to control her child. At this moment the manager decided to get involved - and ordered me to sit down or take my food to go. I stated that no one should have to endure this kind of nonsense during their meal with a child relentlessly screaming and disrupting other customers. I finished my meal and left. I'm used to children. I know they have their "moments". In the past I was a foster parent for several years and was admired by Social Services for how well I handled children. A few days later, I visited the restaurant to speak with another manager regarding this incident, only to be admonished yet again. Her remarks included, "When I'm working I give the child a piece of paper and a pencil to keep him busy". This manager admitted to me that the manager on duty that day stated that, "Yes, this child was exceptionally loud the day Steve was here". Despite this, this second manager also continued to reprimand me for speaking up, irregardless of the fact that the manager on duty that day did absolutely nothing to correct the problem. Did anyone apologize to me for the manager not doing her job? No. Did the owner, who I've known for over fifteen years get involved? No. I was the bad guy. I was humiliated - twice - once by each manager. No one deserves this treatment. Especially a frequent and loyal customer. Obviously, the only thing that matters to this restaurant is the almighty $$$. read more

I knock down my review to 3 stars for 3 reasons. 1.) Reviews here have indicated this place has been implicated for a credit card scheme earlier this year. While I haven't heard of anyone recently being victimized by this, I do know people who were affected by it in the area. Since the incident, I will no longer be using a credit card with them, only cash. 2.) It lately seems that they cannot get an order right. I have ordered with them on several occasions, and I feel I'm always repeating myself because their computer always crashes whenever I place a pick up order. And then, after bringing the order back, either I'll find they gave me somebody else's food or my order is completely wrong. 3.) Their service is slow. I've gone there and waited a good half hour just for pick up. I understand that Italian food can take a while to make, but that's way too long, and especially since they back up too quickly. The place is small, and I know they want to expand, but I've waited and 3.5) Their sauce is extremely rich. Always order it light, because otherwise it can run right through you. And even then, when I ask for light sauce, they still give me the regular amount, which is already heavy as it is. I would still go there, but bring cash and order very carefully. read more

Being from northern New Jersey where "mom and pa" Italian restaurants are the norm and you can get a good pizza or pasta without paying more than $7-15, I'm always on the look out for good locally owned Italian places. Italian Delight meets that criteria. The food is good basic Italian-American; don't expect fancy or complicated. The portions are generous and a good value; you'll walk out full without having paid $20 an entree. The service is okay, not bad but not incredible either. The waitresses I've had have been friendly but also have disappeared for periods, sometimes chatting with employees or guests. You'll hear more Spanish (sometimes loudly) from the kitchen than Italian, but the food isn't from Tuscany either so that's okay. As we were getting ready to leave last visit, a manager or perhaps an owner stopped us to make sure everything was okay, which is a nice touch. The space is clean and the seating comfortable, but you can feel close to your fellow guests and the last two times I've been there we were pestered by flies (just a few, but persistent). read more

Always come with my parents when I visit them! Have been several times and food is always delicious with a homey feel! Today I went with my family for my moms birthday! Our waitress greeted my parents (who regularly visit) with the drinks they always get. Our server was very personable. I got the calzone lunch special! Yummy! The best calzone I have received in A LONG TIME! Every time I go it's amazing. I am from Charlotte, NC and only get to come 4 times a year but every time I go it's delicious! Had a really bad experience on yesterday. The customer service has never been the greatest, but the worst was on yesterday, as my daughter stated below. Overall, the food is not bad at all; but I've been there on a a few occasions and saw the employees mopping and using their hands to mop the bathroom and store floors and use cleaning supplies, then go straight to the register and start waiting on customers. It was my favorite place but last visited disappointed me and my husband. We decided to try something new. I usually get their salads. I order new in menu "salmon alla Jack". it wasn't bad but they forget to put spinach to it. It doesn't taste the same after it wasn't together. Anyway they alway start with their garlic sticks bread. This time it's wasnt fresh at all, you can tell it was just kept warm for a while. All these facts seem unprofessional done. After checking on a friend's chickens, cows, and horses (farm sitting), we headed over to Italian Delight for lunch. The service was friendly at first crack of the door "how we doing today?!?" then we got a bonus of two servers keeping watchful eye over everything. They serve hot rolls with nuclear marinara complimentary--who needs chips and salsa today? Not me. So we ordered a pizza which was tops, an antipasta salad that was fresh and came with an excellent homemade vinaigrette, and a philly done right except the green peppers were a little off tasting. I went here with a friend and got a small Calzone. It was still huge for not even being the large size. It was excellent and I would say it was one of the best I have ever had. I ate lunch here today. I thought I would give them a second chance because so many people I know just love their food. When I would talk to them to ask what they like they always talked about their hoagies. Today, I ordered their Philly Cheese Steak...loaded. My friends were right. Their hoagies are great! I also ordered a side of onion rings. The onion rings were done perfectly. The batter was crispy and golden brown. The onions were sweet, tender, and very good. The service is excellent. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. They still only get three stars because they need to work on their other dishes. Their marinara sauce needs some serious work. It's all tomato and no seasoning. It needs garlic...and lots of it. It also needs oregano, basil, Italian seasoning, parsley; it needs that pop of flavor. It's just too bland. They put this sauce in almost all their other pasta dishes that I have ordered. Their pizza is too greasy. Their crust is excellent. Adding some herbs (GARLIC) to the crust or their sauce would take their pizza to the next level. They need to work on the cheese recipe so its not so greasy. Now it gets so greasy that it soaks through the crust and even the box. Personally, I don't like that. I will definitely go here again. I HIGHLY recommend their hoagies and sides. If they follow my recommendations, they have the potential to blow the other restaurants in this area out of the park and earn five stars. TERRIBLE customer service. My mother ordered a lasagna for pick up. As I go inside to get it, the order hadn't even been put it. Returned home and my mother called and the manager (Dr. Jekyll) said that the lasagna would be delivered to us and it was on the house. As the delivery man came to the door he told us that his manager (Mr. Hyde) said that the order needed to be paid for. We call and ask to speak to the manager and a little girl gets on the line pretending to be a manager. When we ask for the male who we spoke to earlier she says that he is busy but he says that the order must be paid for. We told her that we want to speak to him and she then says that he is busy. We say we will wait and the little girl continues to stay on the line. My husband and I have been ordering from Italian delight for about a year and I would say one in three experiences is bad. Three months ago I literally threw an entire large pizza in the trash because it was so cold and soggy it was inedible and yet the next time I ordered from them, about three weeks later, the cheesesteaks were great. Last week I placed an order and again it was not good. The food was cold, soggy, and the hot wings looked like they have been microwaved two or three times over. I think my main problem with Italian delight is that they are so inconsistent and you never know what you're going to get. Every time I order from them it seems to cost $50 or $60 and that is a lot of money to throw down the drain on food that you do not eat.
