My original intent was to go to Jupiter Donuts in this small plaza on US 1 in North Palm. Then I saw a coffee shop right next to it that blew my mind and decided to enjoy breakfast there instead. Papa Kwan's was the right decision. The Polynesian-inspired interiors radiates chill and relaxing vibes as you nosh on your breakfast goodies and wash it down with iced cold brew. The people behind the counter and delivering the food are delightful and super friendly. I received my breakfast special of eggs, bacon, and cheese on a croissant and a pain au chocolat that brought me much glee and happiness. Freshly made and sooooo, soooo good. The sandwich and the croissants themselves were magical. They flavors were laughing and dancing on my palate. This is a really cute place. Lots of choices for breakfast and yummy bakery treats. I had the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon. It was delicious. Lots of bacon made it special. The bowl itself was fine -- certainly nothing worth writing home about, but the service was the true standout, offering a level of rudeness SO refined it almost felt intentional. I was polite, pleasant, and apparently punished for it. The woman at the counter delivered curt, icy service with the kind of practiced disdain one usually reserves for telemarketers. If this is the standard here, then I'm genuinely impressed the reviews are as glowing as they are. I can only assume everyone else caught them on a dramatically better day. I loved that I was able to customize it to my liking (with plenty of fun toppings!) for a set price. Service was great! The person working the register was very friendly and helpful to first-time visitor. The tiki decor was super cute as well! This edition of Papa Kwan's is located right next to Jupiter Donuts. Pretty brave for a place that is doing breakfasts. They do some great breakfast sandwiches. The ham egg and cheese bagel is perfect. I'm generally not a big fan of breakfast sandwiches, but the quality of the ingredients and the balance of them is well done. Service is excellent. The Hawaiian ambiance is being marred by a clutter fest. Too many display cases, especially the pastry case, which actually now makes the pastries look worse, not better. It could also use a little Hawaiian music for charm. Anywhere other than in this strip mall, this place would be packed. I seldom come in and see more than a person or two in it, while there is a line out the door at Jupiter, next door. What a shame! read more

I tried this place while visiting my friend in Palm Beach this weekend. We stopped by for a late breakfast. I tried their breakfast sandwich which was good, but could've had a little bit more flavor/seasoning. I LOVED my iced latte. They use coffee cubes here which makes the coffee even better! I enjoyed every sip. You can tell the people who work here are super passionate about what they do. I was greeted with a smile by everyone. The place is decorated like a tiki bar and it's super cute! Not sure how to feel about this place. For two years there has, apparently, been _another_ Papa Kwans just a few miles down the road from the original. The food seems every bit as good as the original. The coffee is almost up to standard, but no doubt they'll get there once the staffing situation regularizes. From the consumer's point of view, there may not be any real reason for this second location to exist (the ambience and the vibe at the original location is more lively--this one is somewhat quieter if a quieter Papa Kwans was something you needed), except now there is more Papa Kwans. Or perhaps useful if you happen to need a coffee and this location is marginally closer to where you live or work. read more

Coffee is really good here and the açai bowls. But the customer service is horrible if you are OK with waiting 30 minutes minimum to receive a coffee or food then not bad. I've been coming here since they first opened and I went yesterday. I ordered a iced latte online. I go to pick it up 25 minutes later and it's still not ready. The manager lady comes up to me and hand me a $10 bill and tells me don't come back. What kind of customer service is that all I want is my coffee I ordered 25 minutes in advance and it's still not ready and after being a loyal customer since they open, she tells me not to come back. Great customer service keep it up. I will not be back to this location. Juno Beach location is way smoother and everything is better north Palm is a nightmare. I understand it's the busiest month of the year. I am in the industry as well but I try to be friendly with her and she's like no we're not understaffed. We're good we can handle it and I was like OK. It's the same Short Spanish lady that works every day but Wednesday so usually I go on Wednesdays. I've been ordering online there because it takes so long just to get a cup of coffee and I'll even pay for a latte and be nice about it and just be like give me a cold brew black it's fine and every time I come in there she's still rude to me. I can't believe that no one has mentioned the acai bowls from Papa Kwan's! Truly the best! I am from Michigan and can't get enough of these bowls every time I visit. Brimming with fresh fruit and toppings of your choice.... Perfection. I order mine with açaí and mango, and topped with Greek yogurt, overnight oats, almonds, coconut, and chia.
