I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the Papa Murphy's experience. Don't get me wrong- I went to this location at the recommendation of family local to Rio Linda, as we were looking for some tasty nearby pizza. I did actually enjoy it! First things first - Papa Murphy's prepares the pizza for you (frozen) and you bring it home to be popped in the oven. I didn't expect that, but like I said, I kinda went into this experience totally clueless. Hah! I will say though... personally, I could appreciate more signage and clarity explaining that it's kind of a DIY/take-home experience. I'm from LA, new to Sacramento, and have never really seen this kind of thing before anywhere. Now the food itself is actually quite good. We were given an insanely cheesy pizza and some delectable cheese bread. We also had a coupon for a free cinnamon wheel - though we haven't eaten it yet, I'm looking forward to it. The service is quite fast and the staff are very helpful. The girls working there on the evening of 9/4 were very kind! The locals who stopped by for their dinner were also very chatty, friendly, and welcoming. I forget how nice folks can be in smaller towns! If I could change anything about this one, it would really mostly just be a better stocked drink selection. Being a take home place I imagine that having different drinks in different sizes would be a good idea, perhaps even some other handheld delicacies like desserts. Also like I mentioned before perhaps some outdoor signage explaining that it is a take-home kind of deal would be really helpful. Altogether though this place is definitely worth a try if you have the time. I know most folks prefer a fresh pizza, but for what it's worth this place is actually quite good. read more

So let me just start off by saying I really usually like Papa Murphy's. But the guy who is working in this location now is not friendly and he acts weird. He is a bigger white dude. He doesn't even look happy to be at work. He doesn't even look happy to be there. I came in on Sunday at. 7:30 PM, 30 minutes before they close. He already had a irritated look on his face because he was making pizzas for somebody else. He proceeded to tell me it's going to be a minute and I need to wait. I already said I had an online order a few times. I walked into the register. He proceeded to have me sit there and wait while he was making a whole extra pizza. This was after I already told him that I had an online order. He then proceeded to make me wait five minutes to make that pizza and then when he was done, walked up to me at the register and just stood there like a fucking idiot. He didn't even walk up to me and asked me if I wanted to place an order. What would I like to order? If I knew what I wanted to order he did not say anything like that to me. I then again had to remind him once again that I ordered online he proceeded to tell me he didn't have an online order and then said oh wait and looked behind him and my pizza was on the shelf. I understand people have long hard days sometimes but working in places like this. You need to have good customer service. read more

First, I would like to tell the management that the two young ladies that were working there tonight when I picked up my pizza we're literally the only two employees in the establishment. They were keeping it together and processing the orders and doing the best they could. Please get them some help! I called and ordered my pizza at 5:40. The young lady said that my pizza will be ready in 15 minutes. I got there a little bit after 6 and then she tells me that they're backlogged and would have my pizza ready in 15 minutes. There was already a guy standing there waiting for his three pizzas. And another guy just walked in. Ordered a pizza and paid for it and then the young lady told him that his pizza would be ready in 15 minutes because they were severely backlogged, he didn't like that so he got his money back and left. One of the workers name was Brookland there was a blonde and brunette. The brunette was Brooklyn, called her self Ariana on the telephone, however, these two young ladies just busted their butts to get these pizzas out. I don't wish for this location to be closed but every time I've gone in there they're always very short staffed , I'm surprised management hasn't hired any extra people. Wow, we've been going to this place since they opened in Rio Linda, last night 10/6/2025 @ 7:43 pm I've never witnessed the worst treatment of a customer ever!!!! My husband is fighting cancer, he has finished 33 rounds of radiation and 5 rounds of chemo after a 17 hour surgery that almost killed him. Anyhow due to the radiation treatment on his head, face, neck he can't taste mist things, but he can and has been surviving on the salads at papa murphys in rio linda. For a few months now, he's in there almost everyday. Last night he was exhausted and took a nap woke up at 7:30 wanting a salad so I drove him over there which is less than a 10 min drive our home. We get there at 7:43 pm, they close at 8 pm so perfect we made it on time, right, with 17 mins tp spare. We'll although it says on the windows they are open until 8 pm the close sign was on and door was locked. The two workers inside shook their head as my husband tapped his wrist as to indicate time, so after he begged the best he could through the window to let him in, they would not budge. So my husband took out his phone and took pictures that are time stamped several mins before 8 pm of the close sign on door locked and the sign that has their hours, as he was doing that the one worker with pink/blonde hair took out her phone and started video taping my husband and laughing at him. What absolute disgusting behavior. Someone didn't raise their child properly, and if that's the way she treats customers she shouldn't be working in customer service period. I'm so pissed that some little punk kids basically treated my husband that way. So that place has lost our business. I will be posting this in local fb pages. The other girl sat there and laughed and went along with the pink hair girl, I just can't believe after all these years we've given them our business this is the treatment given. My wife and I have been coming to this location for 3 years now. And lately there's been this one employee who is VERY RUDE. She has bad customer service, and a bad attitude. This is not the first occasion this has happened. Last night 05/12/25 my wife went in at 7:30 pm ( 30 mins before the store closes. And the employee asked " Did you order online or over the phone" and my wife said No just wanted to do walk in. The employee continued to tell her how, " Well the insides closed, my manager said I can close early I've been here for 10 hours and I'm closing SORRY" and she was so rude with attitude and tone. This is not cool customer service, and it's sad that you can't even go get a pizza without someone being nasty to you. I went in to ask to speak with the manager but he's not until tomorrow. I'm giving this place five stars solely because of Angelina, mostly because she was the only one in the building today. Her "coworkers" (people that the manager hires and puts on the schedule) left her high and dry, but she killed it. There were people infront and behind us in line. We ordered a bunch of pizzas and she had them ready in five minutes! She should get paid the wages for everyone that was supposed to be there today! We were really impressed. I called the North Highlands location (same owner) and was told the owner would call me back, and I'm still waiting. I'll be disputing the charges, and will not give them any more of my business. I come here here every Friday and maybe a few times out the week, and whenever it's these three ladies, my experience is always excellent! Mariah, Kelly and Angelina are super fast and makes THE amazing pizzas. Everytime I come in, kelly always ask how my family is doing and genuinely cares and remembered every one of my dogs names. Horrible service. Employees are so backed up and they advised the owner only schedules 2 employees on a Saturday. Placed my order online and it took over an hour to get my pizza even though they suggested 30 minutes. The owner sucks and I feel bad for the employees. They advised he won't hire more people or put people on the schedule cause he doesn't want to pay insurance costs. You suck as an owner cause you put your employees through bad service for being under staffed so your pocket gets more money while they get paid $13 an hour. Do better. read more

I literally never leave reviews, but my experience just now was ridiculous. Shortly after 4:30 I placed my order. The cashier was picking at her scalp and adjusting her hair which is pretty gross in itself but whatever. I'm thinking, she's not touching my food so not a huge deal. Until she goes to make my pizza, WITHOUT washing her hands. I don't usually like to speak up about things but I literally had to. We are in the middle of a pandemic and she was touching the register and equipment and then my food? So I very politely said, I'm so sorry, but can I ask you to wash your hands? She just looked at me with a blank face. I said, you know, because you were touching your hair and stuff. She gave me a weird look, said okaaaaaayy, washed her hands and proceeded to take out her anger on my pizza. She seriously manhandled it. While she was making it I was looking back in the kitchen and noticing what a mess it was, boxes all over the place, garbage overflowing, two employees just messing around on their phones and not giving af. Like, I get it, you work in food service, so did I for 10 years, but people are trusting you enough to eat the things you're making, so take some pride in what you're doing and protect the people eating your food! I honestly would've just asked for a refund except I had promised my kid we would have pizza so I didn't feel like I really had another option. And I think with my food service experience I can reconstruct this pizza into something that doesn't look like it was punched. But I won't be spending my money here again. read more

I was happy when Papa Murphy's opened...so close to home. The last three of my five visits were terrible. One visit the store did not have two ingredients for a pizza on the menu and I wasn't told until they were making my pizza. I wouldn't have ordered a pizza. The next visit...I ordered a thin crust. Got home baked the pizza and it wasn't a thin crust. The next visit was great. The last visit was terrible. I got home baked the pizza and it wasn't thin crust again. This time I returned the cooked pizza and demanded the pizza I ordered. The person behind the counter smarted off about the problem. She said, "You needed more sauce." I told her if the pizza had been what I ordered the amount of sauce would have been fine. The other issue is you have to watch as the pizza is being prepared and make sure the toppings are not all in the middle of the pizza. This has happened more than five visits. The pizza is to moist in the middle if all the toppings are in the center. Recently, the counters have been slimed and unsanitary. If the employees would be less interested in visiting with customers they know and more interested in providing service to all customers distractions would be minimized (less mistakes, cleaner food prep areas). It does not take two or three employees to entertain one customer.The friendliness is appreciated but not at the expense of throwing out pizza due to the lack of fulfilling orders correctly and paying attention to preparation. read more
