Review Highlights - Papa Murphy's

I have found that one of the best pizzas is to do the Gourmet Vegetarian, but replace the delight crust with the normal crust.

Mothership Pizza Paradise

Despite being newer to the Minneapolis dining scene, Mothership seems like it has been around for a…read morewhile - cozy, loud, and inviting - it gives the feeling of a well frequented neighborhood spot with a robust takeout service. I am not sure why it took me so long to visit, but now that I have, I can see it becoming a frequent rotator on my list of pizza joints. There are no reservations and wait times can be long, but there is a small space with a counter where you can order drinks in the meantime. The bar, situated to the left, and the booths and tables to the right make for an intimate dining space. With one or two TVs, it feels a little more casual, but you can easily choose to not pay attention to the screens. Pear and gorgonzola salad: Would be too small for a meal in my opinion, but a nice starter to share if everyone wants some leafy greens. A light, pear vinaigrette coats mixed greens with equal amounts of walnuts, gorgonzola cheese and mixed root vegetables. If you're looking for a salad with some creativity, try it. Garlic knots: MUST get. It's like the savory version of the inside of a cinnamon roll. So doughy with a cheese crust and doused in butter and garlic, these knots sit on top of a light red sauce that can be used to enhance their flavor even further. They are rich and having one and a half was more plenty. Emma: Crust is so important to me in pizza, along with quality ingredients, and I think Mothership nailed it. The thin, buttery white sauce is not overpowering, and with a blend of cheeses, mushrooms and artichokes making up the bulk of the pizza, the hints of truffle honey, pistachio and basil can still peak through. The base of the pizza is thin with a Rosalia style crust - almost like naan bread - so doughy and soft. I think if you are prepared to wait for a table, it really is worth it. I can't forget the chocolate chip cookies and milk at the end too - I recognize a chocolate chip cookie is a chocolate chip cookie is a chocolate chip cookie - and these are just like the ones your mom makes! Not too thin or thick, packed with chocolate, slightly crisp on the outside with a soft interior and best dunked in whole milk! Highly recommend this spot in Edina.

Pro's: -Free street parking…read more-The frozen tiramisu drink was delicious! -They use real garlic on the garlic parm wings -The crust on the pizza was the perfect about of chewy and crispy! -Everyone we encountered was very nice! They have an excellent staff here! Con's -This place is busy and small! Which could be an argument for the pro side! (Obviously people love this place!) We were quoted 30 minutes but were able to grab a spot at the bar at about minute 15! - We got the Care Bear pizza not realizing how spicy it would be! Would love them to add a spiciness level to their menu! It was still tasty but harder to enjoy! -There really isn't a "lobby" area. So the people waiting to sit down were basically bumping into us while we sat at the bar. Overall, this place is good! It's worth a try, but during times that aren't so busy. Even better, they have an option for take out! Also this is not a good place for a date or a friend meeting where you want to stay for hours. Be respectful and plan no more than an hour, hour twenty at most! -

We came as a large group of 9, but this place would be great as a fun lunch date spot too. Ambiance 5/5 Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Value 4/5 My typical Go To is the Margherita pizza, but not here... I recommend the Salsiccia pizza instead. Feeling a bit adventurous? I was wowed by the Beet Salad. I thought I hated beets, but a friend dared me to try it and I fell in love with the spicy fresh taste of their salad. Salsiccia - 5/5 Margherita - 2/5 Funghi - 4/5 Pepperoni - 3/5 Beet Salad - 5/5

I could eat this twice a week for the rest of my life and never tire of it. Other standouts- the Isaac Becker pizza (raw tuna!) was a great play on the OG tuna pizza from Burch. My mom was prepared to hate it, but ended up loving it. The flavors were bright, it was satisfying while staying light. The Funghi was delicious but heavier and a different vibe. The Funghi was a quintessential cozy-day winter pizza, while the Funghi you could eat on a beach. The Mediterranean gin & tonic was outstanding- herb-forward, balanced, bubbly. The pebble ice made it feel special. The lemon ricotta cake was delicious, if a bit pricey for what it was. I always order lemon ricotta cake when it's on the menu.

We ordered the Porteño (meat pizza) and the Peras (vegetarian) since our son is vegetarian, and both were excellent. Even the leftovers held up wonderfully--reheated in an air fryer, they tasted fantastic. We also tried the churro donuts. On their own they were okay, but with the sauce, they were really good. Highly recommended for pizza lovers, and a great pairing with your favorite beverage--beer, wine, or a non-alcoholic choice

The margherita pizza itself was very tasty, and the cheese-covered crust definitely makes for a striking presentation. That said, the shredded cheese on the crust was a bit overwhelming and took away from actually enjoying the crust itself. Our biggest issue was honestly the customer service and overall flow of the restaurant. As first-time visitors, it was very unclear whether we were supposed to seat ourselves or order at the counter, and we didn't receive much direction when we asked. Everything is very self-serve, including grabbing your own plates and water, which is totally fine once you know the process, but better communication would really improve the experience. Overall, we enjoyed the pizza and appreciated the creative style, though vegetarian options were somewhat limited. We'd likely return and just know what to expect next time.
