Went to Blaze Pizza (wood fired) for lunch as I have heard about this place from others but haven't been able to try it myself. I informed the staff that it was my first time here and they were very awesome walking me through the ordering process. Talking to another customer in the store she recommended to order online as it shows all the customization options, rather than ordering in person. I believe that you can do unlimited toppings and it's no extra cost. The restaurant was clean and had a welcoming vibe. I ordered a Cesar salad & pick 2 meal (1/2 Pizza + Garlic Cheese Bread). Anyways I ordered a byo with the spicy red sauce which I love because if I can get it hot why not! I did online order and it was ready in 10! Picked it up and also got their house made blood orange lemonade which was tasty but a bit on the sweet end. Driving home to eat was hard because the whole car smelled so good and I was already starving! I opened the box and for some reason I was expecting a bit more stuff on my pizza so wasn't sure how I'll like it. Had some char around the outside edge. The bottom didn't look too burnt. I read many reviews and didn't see any talk about a tough crust. Many times we have order blaze to go, and not been able to eat at blaze pizza. Today we had that opportunity. They are great food for take, and even better at the actual restaurants. It is a fast fired pizza place that has excellent quality in there ingredients, and their original pizza sauce can go on anything, whether it is the pizza or if it is the cheese bread that is a fantastic use of crust they use. I can get my basic cheese pizza for under $6 (the Simple Pie) and my boyfriend can load his up with as much as he wants for under $10 (he always goes for a build your own). We both love it because at most pizza places, even a plain cheese can be a little pricey, and once the toppings start going on it REALLY adds up (since most places charge extra per topping). Blaze also offers tons of ways to customize (different crusts, sauces, cheeses, toppings and finishers) so there's literally something for everyone. They also have vegan, low-carb, and gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions or lifestyle preferences. Flavor-wise, Blaze is far better quality than any other pizza chain I've been to. The fire oven cooks the pizzas up just right and their ingredients are always fresh and delicious! This is the only location I've been to and for the most part service is good. When I started going a couple years ago a lot of the employees seemed disinterested, disengaged, and bothered when you went up to order, but I think service has greatly improved. Employees have been a lot friendlier and responsive. I haven't been inside to place an order since COVID-19 so I can't say how things are at the present moment but curbside and delivery have been great (delivery is through Doordash so that is separate from Blaze itself). Overall my favorite thing about Blaze is the fact that they offer personal sized pizzas and customizing what you want is very easy and affordable. It was kind of gross, I didn't end up eating the last two pieces which is saying a lot because I'm part of the clean plate club. After your pizza is done you can top it with barbecue sauce, hot sauce or a few others. They also offer specialty pizzas. The process is pretty quick, with 3 people in front of me in line it took maybe 10 minutes for me to get my pizza. The pizza overall is good! They a lot of different drink options, I even seen some surly! The staff were okay. They were pretty quiet all around, as in they didn't really greet me or anything, and only communicated about the order, even amongst each other they didn't really talk to each other. One bite everybody knows the rules: For a chain pizza place it's definitely has its advantages and disadvantages. Advantages are speed and convenience, and you could argue healthier pizza which seems hard to put those two together. For example, to the Green Stripe (pesto drizzle over grilled chicken, roasted red peppers, chopped garlic, mozzarella and arugula) I'll add feta cheese and kalamata olives. To the Link In (Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, sauteed onions, mozzarella and red sauce) I might add jalapenos and mushrooms. BTW, if you're not judicious, you could overload your pizza and wind up with a pie that doesn't bake properly. They may caution you and it's not because they're trying to reduce cost. Trust them to know what combinations work and what do not. They want you to like your pizza. All in all, Blaze remains a great addition to Knollwood Mall. read more

I see this as a great build-your-own thin crust pizza place. Delicious and inexpensive. A lot of slightly "upscale" restaurants will easily charge $15-25 for a pizza like this, but you can get a build-your-own pizza with unlimited toppings for ~$10, AND they often have deals to get this for $5. What I love is that they have sauces other than your traditional red sauce - they have pesto, white cream sauce, BBQ, etc. They also have fresh toppings like arugula, basil, spinach, and seasonal vegetables (they had Brussels sprouts when I went). I came in for their Pi day special (you could get a pizza with unlimited toppings for $3.14) - needless to say, the line was out the door, but all of the employees were super nice and efficient. What a lucky day! While running errands in an unfamiliar area, I saw a long line snaking out the door. Never one to miss out, I hopped in line with everyone and asked what the fuss was all about. Turns out it's Pi day! $3.14 pizza, just because it's March 14. How could I have missed out on the existence of this place? Hot, tasty pizzas assembled Chipotle style (but tastes way better). I got the Link In, with sausage, red peppers, onions on thin crust- delicious! And a mushroom and arugula on high-rise dough ($2 extra). They are very generous with the sauce and toppings (unlike Punch, which has a lovely artisan crust, but boy are they stingy). Despite the heavy load of toppings and generally bubbling, juicy appearance of a Blaze pizza, the crust stayed perfectly crisp and never drooped (compared to Punch's delicious, but often soggy, crust). The employees are amazingly efficient. First guy quickly takes your order. Second guy puts on whatever toppings you like as you pass by. Third guy sticks it in the oven, and the last girl packs it up before you can blink. She must average at least 100 pizzas per hour. If you get a chocolate chip cookie (and you should), they toss it on the edge of the oven so it gets all warm and melty. I will definitely be back, even when it's not Pi day! read more

Wow DIY pizza is freaking amazing. This is no papa Murphy's or any par baked stuff. This is the real deal. I would watch the video on their site first. Fixings were very generous (except the pepperoni). Do use lots of the flour they give you to make the pizza slide off easily. Following their instructions our hand tossed crusts were fantastic. The past few and only times I've been here, the pizza has been good, but my last experience was awful and the response was awful, so I feel the need to share. I ordered two large pizzas for pickup 45 minutes early. I arrived on time and they had my pizzas waiting for me. I drove back home (10-15) minutes and opened the boxes and both pizzas were charred on top. They were so thin, in spots you could see through the crust with the top toppings. I'm not sure what happened, but it was so tough to try to eat. 3/4 of the pizza was tossed out it. I decided to email blaze to hopefully be refunded and the response I got back was to ..."feel free to ask for more toppings at my next visit". I'm not sure at all how that fixes my poor experience, by being charged more to make sure they make the pizza correctly.
