    This was $18 dollars.

I got a take out order and went to my car to look at the food since it was the first time coming here and I was disappointed in the portion size. I went back inside to see if there was a mistake and the lady at the bar/take out station said that the manager made my order. I told her I was surprised at how expensive the portion size was and the employee said everything is expensive and walked away. The plate was $18 and to me it looks like a side dish.

The food was good for the price, I enjoyed the chicken. The waiter wasn't as friendly as we would have liked but she was still trying. I like the look of the restaurant everything is very clean.

Usually I love it here but I ordered the "Baked goat cheese" no goat cheese in it, all red sauce :( would not recommend. I do like the Demi red wine & butternut squash ravioli

When my family entered, the atmosphere was very inviting. It felt very warm and cozy to fit the nature of Italian food. When we were immediately sat upon entering we were greeted by our server, we ordered the cheesy garlic bread it's solid. It's not great but definitely not bad. My meal was a 7/10, I got the chicken parm with Lasagna. For a long day on family vacation full of activities, I would hope to expect than a cold piece of lasagna and spaghetti with a little dap of spaghetti. The chicken part of the chicken parm was solid, no complaints there. However I wouldn't say this place is a two star rating because of the the great service Belinda and the atmosphere. But the food was a 5/10, service and atmosphere was a 8-9/10. That's why is a 3 out of 5.

I love that Papa Vino's is in our community. It has a large menu with something for everyone and has a family atmosphere. If you're looking for a classic Americana Italian night- this will absolutely hit the spot! I'm not expecting authentic Italian by any means, but I did grow up on the east coast and wish some of their dishes were closer to their Jersey Diner origins (looking at your eggplant parm! You're so close!) Their house salad has blue cheese and bacon, so immediately eliminates a whole bunch of folks who would otherwise like a salad. The complimentary bread is excellent. Recommended restaurant for certain.

Food was pretty surprisingly delicious. Prices were so reasonable that we were expecting subpar. Had a super friendly waiter and the atmosphere was pleasing. Not too fancy but definitely not an Olive Garden. Next time we pass through St Joe MI, we will eat here again.

My husband got me obsessed with doordash which has been helpful. It's helpful because it means when I'm home while he is at work I can get food because I currently have no car and I only have to pay for me, making once expensive restaurants seem not so bad. I decided to get Papa Vinos on January 2nd. I got the Manicotti and garlic bread, which came out to under $20 (only went over because of a tip). My delivery came and I was ready to dig in as soon as I opened my door to the smell of tomato sauce and cheese. Something I thought was nice is that they give you complimentary bread with an oil based dip when you come in to sit down, and they included it in my take out order. I get it's free, but often in take out orders restaurants don't include what they give you for free when you eat in. It was a nice added bonus because I haven't been to the restaurant in years and remember loving it. The garlic bread and complimentary bread were both delicious and was glad I bought the garlic bread even though I ended up getting the other free bread. I'll be bloated later, but at least I got to happily carbo load. I don't normally order Manicotti because spaghetti is my favorite food with ravioli coming in a close second but on that day I decided to change it up a little. It was good, but I probably will go back to my favorite next time. I am glad I went with trying something new though because it was good and it allows to me to give better recommendations if I dont stick to only 1 or 2 menu items. I didn't hate it or love it, which was sad but it was good enough to encourage me to be willing to come back and try something different. It also didn't photograph well. Having not eaten Papa Vinos food in over a decade, I was kicking myself for not coming back sooner. I will be coming back soon with my husband because he has been talking about wanting to try it. Thank you Papa Vinos for a tasty meal that made my tummy happy.

It was unclear what they meant but she seemed unwilling to put us on the list when we called at about 5:00. So, we decided to take our chances and stopped by about 6:15 and immediately got seated.....probably helped it was just the 2 of us as they were very busy. Our server, Zoe was very good, well versed on the menu and was attentive but not overly so....excellent at her job. The highlight however (for me) was watching the entire hard working staff work together. It was like a finely orchestrated ballet. Mostly young people who worked extremely hard and never seemed to miss a beat! The owner or manager stopped by to check on us (seems rare these days) and was very friendly. The food was good, not out of this world good but very satisfying and we were happy.

Good from far but Far From Good!…read more We had high expectations yet reservations. Good Italian food in SW Michigan? What are the odds? The reviews were mixed but they had been around since 1939 so they must be doing something right. We decided to give it a try on a Saturday night towards the end of summer. As instructed on their website, we called ahead and the hostess said it would be 30 - 45 minutes from when we called at 6:30. We arrived a little before 7:00 to a crowded parking lot (valet only) and people waiting. It looked like what you would expect from an old school Italian restaurant - lots of lions and other statues, a cool outdoor dining area with a screened in area, a wood burning pizza oven, a lively bar and multiple rooms for dining. So far so good. We get to the hostess and she says that they recently got busy (hard to believe) and that it would be 30 or so minutes or 7:30 ish until our table. We grab a drink, listen to the entertainment in the bar and people watch. Around 7:30 we check in and are told it would be a few minutes. We should have left at that point. A few minutes turned into another 30 minutes and we finally sat down at 8:00. Ordered promptly with a frazzled waitress - gluten free pizza (they have a pizza oven in the middle of the room where we were dining), a chicken dish and gluten free pasta. Everything came with soup or salad as well - our waitress said that the minestrone tastes good with cheese and pepper (it was more like a pasta e fagioli in consistency). The pizza comes out and it was clearly undercooked and as we couldn't find out waitress and were hungry, we choked down a few of the pieces (and tasted the undercooked pizza it well into the night). The soup arrived and as accurately described was tasteless and more like porridge but the cheese and pepper helped. Main dishes - chicken that gave airline chicken a run for it's money, with some pasta in an Alfredo or some kind of white sauce and a half an ear of corn (the best thing on the plate). The GF pasta was way overcooked at it was evident after one bite. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she said that we would take it off the bill and asked if I wanted something else. As it was 9:30 and we had a 2 hour ride in front of us, I just said to take if off the bill and to get us our check. The check comes and only 25% of the cost of the pasta is taken off the bill (how does 2 bites of inedible pasta equal 25% off and not 100% off?). I ask the waitress and she said that she spoke to the owner and she said to only take 25% off of the bill. By this point, my wife has called and texted twice as the valet has the car and people are waiting for their cars. I pay the bill and leave, never to return. On the positive side, at least the guy with the oxygen tank got seated before us. Then again, he was waiting when we got there before 7:00... Moral of the story, leave the Italian food to people that know how to make it and respect their customers and waitstaff.

It was wonderful that they were able to accommodate us, as we were a party of 10 in peak season without a reservation. Our server was pleasant, but didn't seem to really understand the needs of the group at various times during the meal, and also appeared a bit overwhelmed in her section. Request had to be made several times, she didn't know the offerings or what was available, and it was often hard to get her attention. I looked at the photos before getting there and saw a lot of items I simply couldn't order, like the pizzas, which appeared to be made on a premade crust, and the chicken parm that featured a frozen breaded chicken patty vs a hand breaded cutlet. In fact, one member of our party ordered that and had to send it back. What did win were the breadsticks and marinara sauce. Both OBVIOUSLY made in-house and incredibly delicious. I ordered the lasagna and enjoyed it well enough. It was rich, hearty, and cheesy, but I wish it had more of the sausage filling and that the noodles weren't cooked so far that they were a bit mushy. The wine here was super affordable though, so if you're a fan of chianti, they've got a house bottle that's $23 while dining. The root beer menu was very fun too, but our server wasn't up on what was in stock and what wasn't, so we had to get up and check the cooler in between her visits because she seemed to keep forgetting, and then when the bottles requested did arrive, one was wrong. All in all, this experience wasn't great, but maybe I ordered wrong.
