Wow... what an experience. We ordered 3 large pizzas and 3 appetizers for my husband's birthday dinner. When placing the order, we asked for a supreme with two additional toppings. The lady taking the order only rang in the two toppings, not the supreme. When my husband arrived to pick everything up, she told him they could either remake the pizza or give a credit. We chose the remake, and she said it would be 12 minutes. Well past those 12 minutes, our other food was already sitting in boxes getting soggy. I called and spoke with Monica, who was just as unfriendly as she was when taking my original order. I asked her to please check the appetizers since we had just spent $100 and didn't want to bring home soggy mozzarella sticks, gator bites, and calamari. Her response? While I was on the phone with my husband, she said, "I was going to give you a credit, but since we're having to remake your appetizers, I'm not. You can have the pizza that was a mistake." None of this was our fault. The order was entered incorrectly, and instead of owning the mistake, they acted like we were asking for something unreasonable by wanting hot, fresh food. Wow another awesome Local place. Definitely do not judge this place by the curb appeal Or lack there of. Looks like a biker bar but is a great lunch spot. Stopped in for a business lunch. Ben had the country fried steak. Holy cow it was huge. The mashed potatoes looked awesome also. I had the chef salad with grilled shrimp with house dressing. Our server had no personality we kind of were bothering her. The grouper lunch sandwich was 16.99 and the grouper patty was very small & you couldn't even taste it on the bun. The fries weren't great either - how can fries not be at least just ok. My potato skins were pretty good. There were 4 med size and they were hot & decent which is the ONLY reason for the 2 star review. The place is pretty clean - bathrooms not so much. I'm "new" to the area, 3 years ago. I've heard of this dive bar from several people in my community, so we gave it a try after 3 years of "thinking" about stopping by.... We will not be going back. Slow service, over 1 hour to get our apps, plus an additional 20 mins to get tacos, which was their special for the day. The restaurant was only 25% full. Ordered shrimp tacos, which had chopped up shrimp, enough to make one taco, definitely not three tacos! I ordered beef tacos on hard shells which arrived with soft flour, one of which they tried to make it "hard" by deep frying, they burned it. Worst food I've ever had. The good news is that our waitress told us that dinner was on them. I tipped her $20, since it wasn't her fault that our experience was so bad. We've been going back ever since but lately the food takes forever personnel keeps switching. First and foremost, it's a dive bar. As long as you know this you will completely enjoy every moment. The cook cares about the bar food he serves. We came in at 10:30pm on a Thursday during karaoke and our expectations were low. Wow were we wrong, it was great. Wings were good. Alfredo was good, chicken tenders were really good. RIGHT UP FRONT, I gotta say THE most impressive part of our FIRST visit was the incredible bartender, Señora de Abigail! SHE is a real treasure! A truly RARE find. A woman as unique as she is VALUABLE. Her value to Papa Willies is immeasurable. Her beauty behind the bar was only exceeded by her brilliant banter! I have ordered take out from here multiple times. I admit- I've only ordered the seafood platter. Why? BECAUSE ITS DELICIOUS! I've chosen the catfish and shrimp or catfish and clams. The fried catfish is out of this world. Properly fried without being greasy. The same for the shrimp and clams- perfectly fried. The platter comes with 2 sides. The mustard greens are cooked to my liking- not cooked to death. I don't care for their coleslaw as it's too bland for me. Fries and fries okra don't travel well so I usually get double greens. The negative- they don't have printed menus for take out. The menu is on line but I like a printed menu in which to make notes about what was good and what we didn't care for. Went for the first time last night, some friends had been there about a year ago and didn't like it. Our overall impression was pretty good. They have really great drink prices and food is reasonable too. Hubby had meatloaf dinner and really liked it. I had clam strips and sweet potato fries, both were just ok.
