The Saturday Morning Waffle. Those little squares are Cinnamon Toast Crunch!

We came to the Whistling Duck for Sunday lunch at 11am. Service was very friendly. The atmosphere was pleasant, clean, and quiet. We started our meal with tasty fried tomatoes. They had a light, crispy crust and was accompanied by a tangy sauce and a sort of pickled relish. For our entrees I had fish and chips. The fish was a lightly breaded haddock that was delicious accompanied by a tangy tartar sauce and coleslaw. Mt wife had a Saturday Morning Waffle. It was good, but very sweet. She thought that the cooked apples that were served atop the waffle would have been better served on the side. Unlike other reviews that I've seen for the WD, the time from ordering to being served was no longer than average. No complaints there. Another plus was that the server and the manager who stopped by our table made us feel welcome and valued. We recommend the Whistling Duck.

This was our first time into the new restaurant at OTOW that replaced "The Club at Candler Hills". We were greeted promptly by staff and seated in the (new) comfortable chairs! Nice change from the old ones! The staff was 100% on tonight (10/30) and took great care of us. Food came out in a timely manner and there was an appropriate pause between courses. All the food we ordered came out hot and very tasty. Looking forward to our return to try out the other menu options!

We had a great meal at the newly refurbished Whistling Duck at On Top of The World this evening. The service was on point and the new meals were delicious. We started out with the Pretzel (no pics as were starving and thus we dug right in). In came with a cheese sauce and a mustard sauce for dipping. Next was a cheese burger that was huge and my wife had to cut it half to bring the rest home. It was accompanied with skinny fries. I had the BLT, where the B was pecan smoked bacon, the T was a green fried tomato and I also added a fried egg. This was a very delicious sandwich and I paired it with the duck fat fries. They had a slice of apple pie had took one home for later to enjoy! The improvements made are a welcome change and the ambiance is upscale, but approachable. They are planning on making more changes to the menu in the near future and I am looking forward to what they entail. If you haven't been in a while, it is worth a taste.

We have been to the new Whistling Duck twice in the last two weeks. Both times we have had excellent service and the food was outstanding! The first time we had the fish and chips and the bacon wrapped meatloaf that came with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Both meals were excellent as was the portion size and price. Tonight we both had the smashed burgers and one had fries and the other a side salad. The burgers were excellent, and came out from the kitchen very quickly. The side salad was extremely fresh and crisp. Each time we have had excellent drinks from the bar and it's hard to beat these drink prices these days. The first evening we sat inside and tonight we had warmer weather allowing us to sit outside, which was very nice as well. As OTOW residents we will definitely be going back again!

I love this place. It is so nice to have a dependable and reasonable restaurant/bar near by. Menu is solid and cocktails are great.

Service was terrible and that's being kind. Food was cold. They were not busy at 6:15 pm Wednesday.

Everything I've had at Elevation has been great and the prices fair, well as fair for what you get. Food tastes fresh. I'd rather go to a locally owned restaurant like Elevation that cooks your food there, than a chain restaurant where food is prepared in a factory and then reheated. Recently saw they were now serving Breaded Pork Loin sandwiches and had those when visiting friends in Indiana and loved it, so had to try it. Elevation did it great! Though I neglected to ask for more yellow mustard and pickles. I've had two of their mixed drinks and they're too good. One is all I can handle, but they taste so good, you want more.

One of the highlights is the excellent view of the runway, where you can watch small airplanes take off and land while enjoying your meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the food was good overall. We both ordered rice bowls with stir-fried vegetables and our choice of protein--one with chicken and the other with shrimp. The flavors were enjoyable; however, both bowls seemed noticeably watery. We're not sure if the extra liquid came from the vegetables or the rice preparation, but it was enough to be noticeable and took away from the overall enjoyment of the dish. Menu prices appear to range from around $10 into the $40s, offering options for a variety of budgets. One disappointment was that Elevation 89 is listed online, including on web searches and Yelp, as offering a Sunday Brunch. We specifically chose this location because we meet once a month to try a new brunch spot. Unfortunately, upon arrival we learned there is no Sunday Brunch currently being offered. We were disappointed by the inaccurate information and hope the online listings are updated so future guests can plan accordingly. Despite that issue, we enjoyed the clean environment, good service, and especially the unique runway views and watching the small aircraft come and go.

We started with the seafood trio appetizer, which had a nice mix of fried calamari, shark bite shrimp, and a cold crab dip that was served with five pieces of warm bread. The shark bite shrimp had a little bit of spice to it, but not overly spicy. The crab dip had a great flavor of Old Bay, but not overwhelming. Then we moved onto the seafood tower which was a variety of cold seafood. The oysters were my favorite. The clams were my least favorite. The oysters were shucked perfectly and were super fresh. While the shrimp was delicious... I do wish they were deveined and shelled. Thee server was nice and pretty quick. We sat outside on their patio area that is basically in front of the parking lot area but it was still nice to be outside. Overall the food was good and I would go back and try a few new things. But I would absolutely get the oysters again.

I really liked that they have this big drop down screen that converts the bar area into a sort of covered patio area that lets the breeze in while the fans do their thing. It turns this sports vibe type place into a more at home type backyard bbq with friends type feel. I really liked that. It felt like a tgifridays at first but the patio-ish area makes it stand out from other chains like that. Maybe it was the fact that I had been traveling all day and had barely eaten, or that I had a killer blood-sugar dropping headache, but I thought the food was killer. I ordered the steak and dozen fried shrimp combo which came with 20 shrimp. Awesome! I ordered the broccoli and mashed potatoes with gravy and everything was awesome. I loved the butter on the steak, made everything just taste rich and delicious because you had better believe I do not cook with that much butter at my house. But for a special treat while traveling, it was delicious. The shrimp were perfectly fried and some of them were rubbing up against the butter so thy were delicious too. I ate them first so they didn't have time to get soggy. The mashed potatoes were red potatoes with just the perfect amount of skin still on and chunks still in it and I loved the gravy. And the broccoli was also delicious, also cooked with butter and not just boring and bland. Definitely not the healthiest of meals considering, but not the worst option either. Definitely couldn't eat here all the time without my waist complaining, but I was very happy and so was my belly and head. The service was pretty nice too, the people were all lovely. I will definitely be back when I have been really good and deserve a cheat day, there is a ton more stuff on the menu I want to try.

It was a late lunch so the place wasn't full...although the bar area looked busy. When we walked in, there was no host to greet/seat us. Waited a couple of minutes then I walked towards the kitchen to get someone's attention. A minute or so later what looked like the manager came over to seat us in a booth. After checking out the menu and mindful to avoid ordering fried items based on reviews that they're overly greasy, my wife ordered the The Ricky ($13.50 + $1.00 up charge - Cuban roast pork on Cuban bread) with sweet potato waffle fries and I ordered The Pepin ($16 - Cuban roast pork served with red beans and rice and fried sweet plantains). We just had water with our meals. My wife thought the bread was fresh but thought the roast pork was just OK. The sandwich paired well with the honey mustard but not so much with the mojo au jus. My dish started out good, with my first taste of the roast pork being good and flavorful then just went meh after that. The sweet plantains are always good for me. Ambience was cool and upbeat. Portions were generous and it had decent value...but we thought the flavors of the roast pork were muted and fell well short of the pernil flavor we've come accustomed to. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just over $39.
