We stopped on Valentine's Day for a late lunch which turned into an early dinner based on the wait time for a table. Over an hour plus for a first available (inside or outside). The hostess warned us there was a wait but we chose to stick it out. Our server Jillian also warned us the kitchen was backed up, too, so we ordered some chips and salsa to fight back on the hunger. There is a fairly large seating area inside and a large area outside along Kings Bay to enjoy the water. We couldn't hear it seated inside, but there was also a live band outside, too. After reading many mixed reviews we were hesitant to attend this restaurant. It was very crowded at 4pm on Saturday. Waited about 5 minutes. Food was excellent and the service was attentive. Grouper sandwich was the best I've had this trip in Florida. It's a Michigan bar but I won't hold that against them since I'm a Buckeye fan. I guess you don't always follow the reviews. Was super happy to eat lunch at Crackers today. My family was excited to bring me and we had a great meal. The location is right near the water. Full disclosure, I live in the desert, so being by the water is pretty exciting for me. We were on the patio, during the afternoon and it was almost packed when we walked out. One thing I know, when I'm Rome, if the restaurant is packed and getting even busier, it's going to be great. Our waitress was amazing. The management checked in on us, and I saw patrons approaching staff member at will, so I am confident thinking they were able to answer questions on the fly with comfort. Again, I really can't express how wonderful of a location it is. Open air patio with decks leading directly to the water and the dock for boats that pull in from the river. The location is generally an outdoor location where we sat with wooden tables, floors, and chairs. read more

Ordered takeout while poolside with the kiddos. Opted for the combo platter of oysters and scallops. The husband had the cracker club. The food was fine. Maybe better in house as opposed to take out. Nothing exceptional but we did eat it. The Restaurant is absolutely huge tons of seating inside and outside. They have a tiki hut bar in The back overlooking the water. It is located right next door to the Paddle Tail hotel and is very popular spot. Service was hard to judge because it was soooooo busy. I was on hold for over 13 minutes to order so ended up walking over to place an order at the bar. Servers seemed stressed and shouting at each other but were friendly when they approached. The New England chowder was so yummy and our server Morgan went above and beyond! So glad we chose to stop here for lunch.

We probably come here about 12 times a year on average for lunch. We go around 11:30 to avoid the rush. Can get very busy on the the weekend afternoons. The food is mostly very good. The Redfish sandwich is my go to. When its fresh, it's off the charts good. About 1/3 of the time it's not fresh. Why do i keep ordering it, because when its fresh, there's nothing better. Overall i'm giving 5 stars because most of the time the food and service are good to excellent. read more

Great place to stop when you are touring the West Coast of Florida and craving their fish spread and Wisconsin cheese curds. Staff at the bar are very entertaining, especially Edith. However, Victoria wins the most congenial award. Awesome job ladies! Ambiance: Could use a little updating and soften the acoustics with plants, divider partitions, themed local art. Exterior deck overlooking the marina? A restauranteur can never go wrong with that. Enough about what I would design and have if it were mine. However, this is a local family favorite with that Southern hospitality feel which I am sure is what the owner wanted. We will be back many more times on our coastal tour getaways. read more

The food staff make the chicken salad and tuna salad themselves each day. I found the combination served in a giant bowl of greens to be refreshing, delicious, and a great value for the price. We've been coming to this place since 2018 when some friends told us about it. It's not a too long of a drive and enjoy the scenic views. We had to wait for about 20-25 minutes but it was worth it. Our waitress was as Victoria and she's like Speedy Gonzales and awesome. My husband had the fried catfish with fried zucchini sticks and fried sweet potato fries. I had a he shrimp tacos with potato salad. I on Victoria's recommendation on the potato salad, which was delicious. We also had the coconut shrimp for an appetizer. All was delicious and had to bring some leftovers home. After our late lunch we walked out back and met Henry, the local orange and white kitty, took a few photos then receded to head back to Ocala. read more

It was around 9p by the time we got to Crackers. The ambiance was good, they had Christmas music playing and was decorated for Christmas. The restaurant was very clean also. Our waitress was a nice, polite young lady. She did an excellent job. Now let's talk about the food, I had a hamburger, fries, and slaw. The hamburger was hard on the out side but it was ok, I did eat most of it. The slaw was sweet and had celery in it which I didn't like but I'm sure a lot of people like it. Now my husband had fried grouper and fried gator. The fried gator was kind of tough, which is over cooked but he did eat some of it. The salad was good and the baked potato was good. Now let's talk about the grouper, it had sooooooooo much of a fish smell when you ate it that one bite and my husband was done. You could smell it and it was so strong that it made your stomach turn. After eating one bite of the grouper he didn't eat anything else. Yes yes we understand that it's fish but let me say we have had grouper at other places and it wasn't fishy at all and was great. Will we go back and spend $60 again (including tip) NO we will not because neither of us feel like the food was great or for that matter even good.
