    Gluten-free tea tower

Tea service is one of my favorite things to do, especially for my birthday. When planning my birthday trip to Montreal, I saw paparmane and knew I had to go. They offer gluten-free options, as well as vegetarian and regular. I made reservations for four, and provided information as to the need for two gluten-free services and that it was my birthday. I was sooo excited to spend my birthday eating delicious finger foods and drinking tea. The area is one large room, so the noise level got to be quite loud and a little difficult to hear the servers at times. The food and tea were enjoyed by all four of us in my party. I was a little sad that they didn't do anything special to recognize my birthday. Maybe they got too busy? Who knows. The price is what you'd expect for a higher end tea service.

Love this place so much!! We made reservations for 50cad per person for 12 ladies! And they were very accommodating! Everyone was able to order their choice of tea and teatime dietary preference and they even replaced the egg dish for thise who didn't like eggs. Everything was delicious and also so pretty!! They place is just so gorgeously decorated with so many small details we are all in awe! It's literally every girls dream tea time place! Would definitely recommend! Was definetlybkne of the highlights of our bachelorette trip to Montreal!

Anywhere I go I try to find a place for afternoon tea. Reservations were easy to make ahead of time online. The location was easy to find. Inside is a little cramped but decorated super cute and whimsical. Service was good but a little slow. Cocktails were nice to sip on while we waited for our tea. The tea was fantastic. So many good quality options and you can also buy some of your favorites to take home from front check out area. The afternoon tea food items were high quality and tasted good.

Jean Luc Cavalier and team have done it again!! After the continued success of Regine and Janine, they now present us Paparmane for an elegant high tea experience in a beautifully expressed venue. The inspiration for the decor and design comes in part from Cavalier's love for travel. Consistent with their brand, the level of service is always 100%. The staff was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Their high tea menu is offered in classic, vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan versions. We had the classic but I would be curious to try the other versions! Everything was absolutely delightful from the sandwiches to the desserts. The only dessert that I didn't really "get" was the camomile cream shooter. I loved the caramel popcorn and the pear but perhaps not with the camomile cream. I was recommended the Orchid Oolong Hualala (it's an extra $5) but totally worth it. It's a delicately floral milk Oolong. I even bought a 20g pouch of the tea leaves at the front counter. If you fill out the feedback card, you'll get 10% off your purchase. I've been a fan since I discovered Regine almost a decade ago, then Janine and now Paparmane.

I love this tea room! The staff was friendly and inviting. The restaurant was also very clean and chic. They had an excellent variety of tea, and I enjoyed the unconventional take on the savory items. The sandwiches were not your typical tea sandwiches. I would definitely return.

    Lovely Ambiance!

The highlight for me is the tasting table. There's six tables you can walk in and sit at, and the menu has one item per type of tea (white, green, etc). Each order comes with two contrasting teas within the category (Chinese vs Japanese green), for you to enjoy head-to-head. I hear they rotate the teas, see pic for example of the menu! The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with my many questions. As a tea shop they have a massive selection of teas in an easily understood menu, and many quite nice teaware pieces that are reasonably priced and designed specifically by/for Camellia Sinensis. They also sell tea drinks to go! Limited selection vs tasting table, but a good variety of different tea types. There is no food. Note this is a marked difference from the tasting room/mini restaurant that existed here pre-covid, and is described by many older reviews.

Whenever it was possible I looked forward to showing friends and family this very special place. I suppose now my experiences will remain a memory; As I have returned to Montreal with hopes of visiting and sharing this tea house once again only to walk in and find that they no longer serve any tea. You can still purchase loose tea and some beautiful tea sets but I am sadden that the experience is just not the same.

There are about 4 wooden tables available where you can sit and order from the expansive tea menu. It really is an experience like no other. We ordered the jasmine flower and green tea sets, as well some steamed buns. The couple who owns the establishment are very kind and eager to show you the art of tea drinking. The owner arrives at your table with your super cool tea drinking set, and proceeds to pour the hot water into a cup containing the tea leaves. This is then poured into a sieve and finally, you pour it into the drinking cup. The tea itself was very aromatic and light. I've never felt so tranquil and at ease. Sitting in front of a view of Old Montreal and sipping warm and fresh tea was one unforgettable experience.
