I wanted to love this small diner l, but we tried this today and likely won't return for a second trip. The ambience was fun, definitely a community feel and many people were teachers at some point in the Robbinsdale area. Yes, we talked with everyone in the room we were eating. There are a some tables and bar stools up front and more tables and booths in the back room. Service was good and the staff was very friendly. The food was "okay" nothing special. I really wanted to have a better review because it had a fun diner vibe, but just can't suggest eating there. The Papa's Benedict seemed safe, but the English muffins had burnt edges and were rubbery inside. Ham was good, eggs were cooked correctly, sauce was separated. The good news is that it's totally safe to eat a broken or curdled sauce, as they pose no food safety issues. The bad news is that curdled sauces may be so off-putting that you, your family, or your guests, lose all interest in eating them. Hash browns were clumpy and difficult to separate. Not sure how that happened, I poked around on them but couldn't determine why they were so sticky. The raspberry pancakes looked good but were a bit on the doughy side and they had a metallic or chemical raspberry flavor. Sausage was good, but couldn't have been cooked a bit more. The meal and tip for the two of us was $40.

Still one of the most solid diners I've been to. Always good service and always good food! Quite inexpensive as well and we've never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a table. Classic diner feel so nothing fancy, but it's cozy.

Always have a great fufilling breakfast here. Small dining area ,always packed but quick to get seated. Small parking lot but they have extra parking behind. Typical diner type food and ambiance and kind friendly staff. No fancy frills place but very friendly tasty

So. Much. Food. This place is such a great little "dingy" diner. Don't worry, it isn't actually dirty, just very, very casual - and I love it. When you walk in the main room is very diner style with just a few booths and a counter to sit at, but there's additional seating the backroom that looks like standard tables and metal chairs. When we went, the place was full, but we were seated pretty quickly. They have an extensive all-American menu and specials. The portion sizes are huge, the price is very reasonable, and the fried potatoes and pancakes are amazing! Food came out fast and fresh, and our sever was friendly. Parking is kind of slim pickings but the food makes it worth it.

The blueberry pancakes are the best I've ever had. Papas is now my favorite breakfast place in the Twin Cities. Hidden gem!

For breakfast, I ordered two slices of their cinnamon French toast, served with two eggs and bacon. To drink, I treated myself to a delicious, beautifully layered tiramisu latte. Another thing I absolutely love is their grab-and-go bakery case. It is so rare and refreshing to see so many clearly labeled GF treats, like their Lemon Bars and Almond Cheesecake. We couldn't resist taking some goodies to go, so we went home with a lemon bar and one of their GF Fruity Pebbles bars. If you're looking for a delicious, incredibly gluten-free friendly brunch spot with a great atmosphere, you have to check this place out!

They also had a delicious iced banana bread latte on their special menu...the banana bread cold fold was so, so good. The second time I stopped in, I was with a coworker and they tried the avocado coffee...which was interested. It was similar to a smoothie consistency, but was definitely not my cup of tea. Overall, great service, quick meal and really delicious food.

This time our family tried the 5th Avenue Minneapolis location right across from Twins Stadium. Quick tip, park in the garage facing the restaurant on the left side. It's an easy elevator ride up and the signage makes it simple. Matt was our server and did an outstanding job. Great service always makes a difference. Beverage options were excellent too, stuff for everyone, mimosas, specialty coffee drinks, and really solid drip coffee. The menu has a great balance of savory and sweet, so naturally we tried both. We had the breakfast sandwich with sausage, a BLT on a croissant, biscuits and gravy, pancakes with fruit, and a croissant-waffle fusion with lemon and sweet cream. Honestly, everything was delicious. What I appreciate most is the atmosphere. These restaurants just feel comfortable, welcoming, and easy to enjoy with family or friends. I'm excited they're coming to Maple Grove, but I'll still keep visiting the St. Paul, St. Louis Park, and Minneapolis locations too because I want to see our cities and local businesses thrive.
