I was a bit worried about a wait as it looked popular but with two people we were able to get in pretty quick (less than 5 min wait) on a Sunday morning. It was packed though, so there might be a wait. Space is at a premium in this building and despite being a bit crammed in it was still a great experience overall. Honestly everything was wonderful. The server: A+, ambiance: great, food: holy hell it was delicious. I had some sort of benedict that came on cornbread and was paired with some incredible hashbrowns. Chef's kiss. I also ordered a specialty mocha for fun and it also did not disappoint. This place is a slam dunk for breakfast. If you live in the twin cities and you haven't eaten here yet what are you doing!?

I also tried the pork belly biscuit. The biscuit itself was delicious, but the entire dish was absolutely drowning in sauce, and the pork belly was much chewier than I expected. Overall, there were enough things I enjoyed that I would not completely write this place off, but between the uneven food and the rushed feeling created by the seating policy, it was not the relaxing brunch experience I was hoping for.

We have been going to this restaurant weekly since February. We have never been disappointed with any of our meals. It is simply a classic home-town cafe with all of the trappings that go with a non-franchise business. I know that their potato salad and most other offerings are made on-site from scratch. The roast beef and meatloaf sandwiches are excellent. The mashed potatoes are also peeled, cooked, and mashed in their own kitchen. As for the cash-only policy: The costs to maintain a credit card processor for a small business are prohibitive. I pay by cash because it is an honor to support a local business, which is owned by people who live in the neighborhood. Wait staff can be problematic at times, and we have encountered some waitresses there that my wife and I would prefer not having wait on us. We do not let that spoil the meal. The food, again, is excellent. I would encourage people in the neighborhood to come in and try the place. You should make up your own mind, rather than take the advice of someone that whines to Yelp because they probably want to destroy something. My wife and I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. read more

My wife and I bring our two little kids on Saturday mornings for breakfast when we can wrangle them up. Everyone is very friendly. We are always greeted warmly as soon as we come through the door. The menu has several kid options and the staff are very friendly. We have had very good food each time we have been there. I had the Italian hash with eggs and toast last time, but my favorite is the country fried steak. We have been there for lunch once as we'll.
