Small shop worth yelping. This shop has been here for years. Great specifically for D&D and Pokémon packs. This place is quaint, and when I popped in it was pretty busy with a small tournament and it had a positive atmosphere even though that's not my thing. The place was pretty full, and consists of a comic/inventory wall, a countertop, a couple of stands, and a bunch of foIding tables. I would guess it is ideal for Dungeon and Dragons fans for supplies and tournaments and not much beyond except a small inventory of graphic novels that are reasonably priced. This shop does not have a lot of things such as a vast array of comics, or a wide variety of titles, but for a guy, this is worth a pop in, but keep expectations low. The giant man behind the counter was courteous but a bit peculiar too, but I kept it moving. The place isn't flashy, but rather seems sort of a "industrial suite" that wasn't completed, and was filled with comics, and is sort of empty and isn't really for kids but rather man-children/nerds/enthusiasts, and I would ESPECIALLY AVOID THE BATHROOM if you're a FEMALE. You've been warned. Got my son some comics and my daughter some Pokémon cards here, and will likely return. read more

I typically read all of my comics online via the DC infinite or Marvel ultimate apps however, there are certain comics and special releases that you have to go and buy paperback, which is fine. I love comic shops however, every time I come to visit paper, heroes the gentleman behind the counter is passive, aggressive, and rude. I don't quite understand it. He also seems to try to out nerd you with his knowledge I find it odd I'm here to spend money and buy comics because clearly I read comics too. read more

They open the hit boxes and sell all the dead boxes. Leaves people stranded thinking they'll pull out the good stuff. It's scummy practice and not true to the people's expectations. It's a money grubbing store. read more

Poor business etiquette, was looking at singles, saw the price of the card on the iPad. Checked the condition on a card and the worker noticed the card was mislabeled and priced incorrectly and updated the price while being interested. Some hyped singles are above avg price. Not up to negations or offers for some products. Might be the first and last for me. read more

Service is day to day depending on mood of whoever is behind the counter but it's cool. Wish there were more comics but just happy to still have a store who still gets weekly comic books. So I've been coming here for almost 2 years, it's the closest shop to my house. I will now make the further drive to Tapped Out Gaming than come here again mainly because of the older man who works the counter. I assume the owner. Always an unwarranted passive aggressive attitude, defensive with every little thing. For example, one of the first times I came here was for a deck list, he put it together and while ringing me up I tried a little bit of small talk " So do you guys ever go to Card show events and do any vending?" And in a cold tone, not even looking at me, he says "No they're a waste of time" It wasn't what he said that bugged me it was his tone and total lack of effort to the HUMAN BEING trying to talk to him (shop was empty too, not like he had a lot going on). The only reason why I don't give it 1 star is because of the other younger employees who have a better attitude and know how to treat people with decent respect. Best Comic and Game Store in Santa Clarita. Been going to this store since they opened about a decade ago. Magic singles, Yugioh, Pokémon singles, comics, Warhammer, DND, board games, they have it all! Every Friday they host Commander/EDH nights, great fun. Last Friday every month is free to play, the rest is a FNM tournament. Kirk and his son Nick are both super cool people, nice, and knowledgeable when it comes to collectible values. read more

Honestly, there was a younger worker here with glasses I wish I remembered his name and he was such a great guy and even did his job with ease but then I come here recently and then the owner I believe, is always there now after "renovations" and it's been twice where I try to buy a card that I ordered online and he tries giving the cheaper variant and still charging the same. I have to say something. So I do and just feel the vibes and energy get worse than they were. At least hire or get a volunteer who enjoys doing this. All you need to do is nod or say no. But hey I'm just a TCG nerd who spends thousands a year, what do I know about buy/selling/trading trading cards. read more

Do not come here for newly released tcg cards. They sell them 3X more than any other store on release day. They sold the Pokémon etb for $145 when other retailers are selling them at $60. Don't waste your time. The owner just wants to charge more to make more off these products. If you're buying cards for your child go somewhere else. They also delete any negative comments for their establishment. read more

I recently started collecting Yu-Gi-Oh cards and found about this gem of a place. So far, I have been interacting with Nicholas who is extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and doesn't beat around the bush. I have been coming here to sell mid-price YGO cards and they have been AMAZING with this, offering 60% TCG for cash and 70% for store credit. I will also say their booster box prices are extremey fair, as is their collection of single cards. I will definitely be a regular here, and stop purchasing from Amazon and other online retailers. Honestly, I loved this comic shop for a long time. The truth is that she shop prices comics fine butt definitely rip people off in regards to cards. Everything they sell is on the higher end of TCGplayer and eBay. Most other shops I know sell cards in the lower end. That is how you sell cards. I literally witnessed them buying some poor guys childhood Pokémon card collection for barely anything at all. They bought a $200 card for $40 and then tried to turn around and sell it for $300 a day later. Their prices on sealed product is also a major rip off too. I don't know if their distributor is selling them product at an insane mark up but never ever go here for sealed product. Go to other shops like King Fandom or We can be heroes. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 just because I have good memories with them from around 10 years ago. read more

Came around to look for TMNT Last Ronin for pre order. The guy who was there yesteday Monday he was a great guy and was trying to help even though I was window shoping and see what kind of books they have. He was really helpful. The comic book store atmosphere is pretty small. Not a lot of comic books I look for. Im more of a DC fan most of them are Marvel which is fine I understand. Sadly, this is an example of the comic book store most people think about when they think of comic book stores, dark, kind of dingy, and populated by creepy people. It wasn't that way the first time I went in a few months ago... The guy behind the counter was friendly, polite and engaging. While the store itself was still dark and kind of dingy, the space is very well organized and utilized for maximum product placement. I'd gone in to buy some Magic: The Gathering cards, and they had some good stuff, so I spent some money. This last time, I went in looking specifically for my latest obsession, Funkos. If you've never seen one, I can't describe them to you...but I'm addicted. I went in, and there was four people in the store. A worker, a customer, and two people sitting at a table eating. As I'm looking at their meager Funko selection, one of the two eaters lets loose a large belch. SERIOUSLY? While I have no problem with belching (do it pretty frequently myself, if I'm being honest), there's a time and a place...and that time and place is not with a customer in the damn store! For that alone, I will never go back to Paper Hero's. Show some class, and stop making those of us that love to collect and read comics look bad, would ya? read more

I am very pleased that this store is my neighborhood comic book store. I have frequented this shop since its opening and have seen it grow drastically as a business since that day. They offer a variety of events for all the major card games, and they even have a table set up in the back where you and your friends can play table top games such as the games in the Warhammer series. The people who frequent the shop are some of the kindest people you will ever meet, and are always willing to play a game with you or help you get started on a new one. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and will order any merchandise you ask for an get it to you in a timely manner. Overall, this shop is great and I highly recommend it. read more

Went there with my kids hoping to get some insight on what comics would be good to get my kids so they might get into collecting and reading some cool stories. The guys in front really didn't help at all. They were like, comic book snobs that didn't want to waste their time on people who didn't know much about comics. I would never buy any thing for this business now. I'll go across town to the award winning shop, Brave New World, and spend my money there. They could have started my kids off on their first real comics and had lifelong collectors who would go back to their shop over and over again, just because it was their home comic shop. Bad business. I feel sorry for the owners that have these kinds of kids running their shop. If that kid was the owner, he needs to learn some social skills. Thumbs down. read more

First off most card shops are willing to give good prices to their community, not Paper Hero's. One of their other coworkers even told me recently the long haired kid "Pokémon Expert" was terrible at pricing cards and he absolutely is. He prices cards at $5 to like $100 more then they should be, don't even get me started on their Charizard prices. The long haired kid told me they price cards based on TCG and when he realized I knew the TCG value he hit me with a "I don't care, we have an automatic pricing system" yeah okay maybe to automatically price stuff way higher then it should be, funny how prices change based on who's there. Go to King Fandom, Tapped Out, or Toys Of The Universe they are actually good people and they are willing to work with you on prices. read more

Not a terrible shop, but by no means the best around either. The selection of current comics is average, though it seems that they often underorder what one would think would be a big release. Their back issue selection is fairly good for the area. You won't find much in the way of "high end" comics, but these days that's to be expected. eBay is the place for those. Where they suffer the most is that they have virtually no trades or hardcovers at all. I buy those as much as I do comics these days, and not being able to find those makes me much less interested in coming here. They also have a lot of tabletop gaming stuff, and often one will find games in progress. Not my thing so I won't comment on if prices or selection are good, as I wouldn't know. Edited to add a star. These guys are pretty cool. The staff is really friendly and much more knowledgable than most card stores. The only issue is a lot of the regulars are pretty pompous, but that's not really the store's fault. Still, it keeps me from coming back. I would have to start by saying my impressions of this store have changed over the past few years. I have started frequenting paper hero's recently due to it is the only store(comic) in the scv that actually sells board games(tabletop). When I first started going here the store felt disorganized and the staff seemed very standoff-ish. With that being said they really have turned the place around. It is more organized and they now offer an even more impressive selection of games. Also, if they do not have a game you are looking for they will order it for you. The staff is much more friendly now and the place looks a lot better. I do play the X-wing miniatures game at this location, there is a great group of locals who are very welcoming and friendly. The owner has kept the store open late to let us all finish our games and has no problem with it. I would check them and give them a chance. read more

Easily the best comic book shop in Santa Clarita as far as gaming is concerned. They hold frequent tournaments and drafts for several games including MTG, Clix, 40K, etc... There are also plenty of people there to play games with who are knowledgeable and willing to help one another out. Most of the people I have met there are friendly and easily approachable.
