Possibly the best comic book store in the Valley. Been going for years, mostly on FCBD in May, and they handle that event really went despite the crowd. They also have a lot of signing events, which is pretty cool! Really appreciate that they have a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff are super helpful and take time to chat with you and give solid recommendations. Been to other stores that feel very judgey and just want you out ASAP. Collector's Paradise is the complete opposite. Layout is nice and spacious giving room to browse. The sections by author took me a while to get used to. Good selection and I love that authors randomly drop in and sign copies (and the store sells them at face value). read more

I went to Collectors Paradise over the weekend and enjoyed all the new comics they had on the shelves. It's rare to see a comic book store that carries a crap load of new comics. Kind of reminded me of my childhood days. They don't carry many back issues, so if you're looking for those, this probably isn't the place. I highly recommend Collectors Paradise, if you're looking for new off-the-shelf comic books. Bad experience with a special order. Employee tried to blame me for their mistake in giving me the wrong cover in my pull list. I ordered the cover variant as a special order before the cutoff date and the employee said it was my fault instead of just saying it was an accident! I visited collectors paradise briefly this week and had a pleasant time. The employee working the counter was plenty helpful and the selection was decent. They don't have everything but considering how local it was to me I considered my visit 100% worth it. The prices for many newer comics is pretty baseline while more classic single issues sell for 3-5 dollars. I enjoyed my visit and would recommend. read more

Store is a disorganized. Popped in for their Black Friday Deals and they wouldn't honor their advertised discounts on books that should have been eligible. Hoping to find a local shop in the valley since I moved too far from my last shop that treated me very well. This ain't it. Responding to the response to the owner. I know what the stipulations of the BF deals were. No comics released within the last two weeks. I tried buying GI Joe #1 and an ancient copy of Detective Comics 1000 and I was denied the deal on both, so they didn't do their job correctly. Joe was released 3 weeks ago. I just recently got into reading comics and when my coworker wouldn't stop raving about Collector's Paradise, I knew I had to check it out. From my very first visit the employees were extremely friendly and ready to answer any of my questions no matter how silly they were. Now I visit Collector's Paradise every Wednesday to pick up my new issues. They even know me by name and even though I always browse the new releases, they still come up to me and hand me everything from my pull list. Nick was super welcoming of me getting into the comic book world years ago, helped with suggestions and was super easy to talk to. I've dealt with snotty comic book readers/employees that thought I was only getting into comics because its "cool" now with the MCU and all that but nick seemed like he really just wanted to share the world that he knew so much about. So please give this man a raise. The store has a really cool subscription service, staff friendly, great deals from time to time and not just looking to make a profit out of everyone (like a particular comic book store on reseda that will kick you out if you curse lol) anywho who. I started collecting comics a couple months back and was lucky enough to come to this shop first based on how other customers felt on Yelp. I was welcomed and given ample advice on how to collect, what comics that would possibly suit my liking, and just having a genuinely good conversation with the associate! Owner is really rad! I've had one of the best experiences here. I visit many lcs's around Los Angeles and by far this shop is the best at customer service. Most old school owners hate new customers and have horrible service. They don't want to talk to you. However, this store is the opposite. Owner tries to put on cool events as well. The employees are so helpful, even if I come to them with completely vague "Well, I want something that's kind of like this, but also has a little of that" -- they'll always provide amazing recommendations. Even though there are comic book shops closer to my house, Collector's Paradise is my spot. I love that the store is clean, well-lit, well-stocked and that the staff is so polite and knowledgeable. I deal most often with Nick and he is a fabulous manager. He is adept at making suggestions regarding titles I might like. This place is just a bundle of good stuff. First there programs. The subscription program is on point, I have never missed a book with them (whereas with other shops I have gotten wrong issues or completely missed out on issues!) They always stress getting the books you asked for and even when a book is very popular they give me, a returning customer, first print of the issue if I subscribe early enough. The subscription service has a feature that the staff will turn off if requested, but it has made dynamite recommendations. The Graphic Book subscription is a nice way to save too, as they take a percentage of your Hardcover and Softcover purchases and credit you that total you've accumulated whenever you choose. It's very much worth it. The staff is very attentive to your likes and dislikes, and often make recommendations tailored to what you have subscribed to. Come to them with a character you know of, but would like to explore more, or an artist or writer you really like and they will give you not one but several books to read, as well as ongoing series that they like. They are super knowledgeable of the comics industry itself, and this keen eye will keep this business afloat through harder times. Collectibles and toys are all well stocked, a very nice selection of statues to peruse, and whole Chess set pieces. Not much more to say here, just cool stuff, and a nice collection of vintage comics kept in good condition. The events they have are simply awesome. It seems almost every month there is a signing at this location. There was one time I was not able to go to a Donny Cates signing, but with the purchase of his new Venom book the staff held my book and made sure that he signed it, simply awesome! Beyond it all, the staff always remember my name. I can only come in once a month because I moved, but I could never see myself going to another shop. read more

This place is wonderful. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful even if you don't know what you're looking for. They have specials and events happening all the time. And they get so many artists to come out and do signings and release events which is a great way to explore new books. Even their emails are full of well written reviews and recommendations!!! Family friendly and great selection. Came for the first time two years ago for their May comic book day. Was overwhelmed with all that was happening in such a small place and walked out with quite a few things. Great selection of comics, graphic novels and collection figurines. Nick- one of their employees has a deep knowledge of comics and can recommend almost anything. Went in search of a YA graphic novel by Kami Garcia and he has recommended 3 more for me since then- aside from the comics I get my kids. I look forward to Wednesday's when the new releases come out. This comic shop in the valley is great! Haven't interacted with all of the workers as of yet, but one of them, Nick, was by far the friendliest and most helpful! He helped me out with making sure I'd get the correct variant covers that I wanted for specific comics and I could not be more grateful. I felt very comfortable in this shop with my boyfriend when that is not always the case at other shops. Speaking of, my boyfriend has come to this shop many times and they were very helpful in helping him with his pull list along with providing general information to help get him into the world of comics. This is one of my favorite comic shops. I've been hitting up this shop while on my lunch break the last few weeks and I've been finding some really great reads. I really don't want to give this place 5 stars because I'm afraid more people will hit it up. However, today I'm being a little unselfish. This place is awesome. Great service and the titles are organized. I love that they carry indie books and their selection is great. If you sign up for their book club you can get credit on your next graphic novel purchase. Came for the "Scott Pilgrim's Finest Hour" release party back in July. Free beer. Free garlic bread. And TONS of fellow geeks. They've got a gallery in back, which was great setting for mingling and debating comics. It features mostly posters that are for sale in the shop, but one wall is completely dedicated to original sketches done for them by visiting artists. I dig their deal for picking up the $1 issues. Since the publishers put them out to get people interested in a title, Collector's Paradise will sell you the first volume for 20% off if you bring back the corresponding first issue you bought from them. They've otherwise got a pretty large selection of graphic novels (their bargain bin is also pretty fun for treasure hunting), and their staff is pretty cool. read more

I spend about $3 to 400 a month on valiant comics. I ordered 30 at $15 apiece of the bloodshot one variant by paradise comics with the covers by sandoval. I then Back of May when paradise owned by Ed Greenberg preordered for $300 each for bod two sets. I decided to cancel before it was shipped but he said it could not be canceled. If you have a customer buying over $300-$400 a month that is not good business. I work hard but also spend hard. Anything in life that you preorder you have the right to cancel from a consumer point of view. It pays to wait. I think people should know that when they order from Paradise or ed Greenberg. You are locked in because you have stuff allocated. We will never be doing any business. Use 1 up or Dcbs what are your dollar will go further. More about the money than the customer, Period. read more

This place is cool but not my style. Its more for magic and war-hammer. Both times I've been here they've had the groups of geeks around the table rolling their dice and murmuring in the geek-tongue that I've long since forgotten. Not so much for the hardcore comic book geek. Not to say they don't have a cool selection its just mostly in hardcover form rather then actual comic books. I like a comic book store with tons of back issues that I can drool over. A place where its packed to the ceiling with aged pages and action figures from the 80's. Where there is the one super creepy guy with questionable hygiene that can find anything you need no matter how obscure. Collector's Paradise just isn't it. Ah! The glory days of geekdom! One of the better comic shops of the valley.. Ok, that's a tough choice really since there's soooo many good comic shops in the Valley. With that said, this place has a wide selection of trades/graphic novels that if you're really looking for something specific, chances are they will have it. Not only that but they'll have it organized so that you can find it without much help. But then again, no matter what you do here you're going to feel like you got some great treatment when it comes to being helped. The organizers of this shop really go above and beyond in the name of customer service. With a lot of different ways to get discounts and sale prices, as well as the many signing/autograph seasons that they have with comic creators and artist and the huge free comic book day events they throw, there's really no way you can go wrong coming to this shop for your funny book needs. read more

When I stopped by this place for the first time I saw a rather large banner outside that said something like: "Voted best Comic Book store in the Valley, 2nd year" My expectations were escalated. Upon going inside I was a little disappointed. I did not have a lot of time to look around but I was looking for an old back issue of the Flash. They didn't have it. All of their back issues were in boxes under the racks of new comics. They did not have very much. There was a few Hero Click games going on and I was in a hurry so I left. Since that trip however, I have had a number of positive experiences here. There staff is nice and knowledgeable. They tend to have rather amusing conversations about appropriately nerdy stuff. They have a good amount of graphic novels and paper back stuff. I would even say they have more than most stores I have been to. There are a lot of new comics as well. One thing I really like about this store is the art gallery in the back that I sadly missed on my first visit. It is worth checking out. I have not been to any of the signings or events that this store seems to have from time to time but I would like to; they seem great. So now that I have been back and made numerous purchases from this place an a number of occasions I can say that the only thing this place needs is a better selection of back issues. If I could give this place 3.5 stars I would. I decided to go with 4 because the few back issues they do have are sold at pretty reasonable prices. read more

Really friendly place with an extensive selection. They have weekly magic gatherings so if youre into that you might want to ask them for details. If youre so inclined its easy to get into their pull list, just ask and youre in. Even vetter you can manage your pull list online and pick up when ready. Check your pull list when youre picking it up because they sometimes add comics into your pull. Overrall the best comic place on the woodland hills area. read more

Collector's paradise is my favorite comic book shop ever I've been shopping here since I was in middle school. It's actually the first comic book store i've ever been to, because it's down the street from my old middle school. They have an awesome art gallery in the back room. They have a big selection of graphics novels, trades, and comics. So I continue to shop there because it's only a five minute drive from my house. I try and get comics there whenever I have can and I always go to Collector's paradise when I do. It's great that the can make special orders so that I can read older issues that I missed. In all the time that I've been shopping here the service has been amazing. The workers are really cool and always have great recommendations on comics. I will probably continue to shop here as long as live in LA. read more
