I just love paper source. I come here to shop for stationary and gifts. I just always feel so inspired by the beautiful selection of stationary and gift options when I walk in the store. My favorite section is the area of these cards that have handmade paper cards that are just so beautiful. It looks like a birthday cake. I just can't recommend how great the store is. They have some special collection of cards and wrapping paper which I really love and find that it kind of exclusively available only at Paper Source. The quality is great and thats why its priced higher than normal. I have bought glitter cards about 2 years ago and have been visiting since to find something like those, and though I have found many interesting cards but those ones never got repeated, so I guess, what you find now, you like it you but it, there's no coming back at a later point for the same- this again makes the place unique as you can be sure there is something new every time even if the category is the same. read more

It's extremely frustrating when: - I drove all the way to the edge of civilization (the 610 Loop marks the boundary, after all)... - I spent 30 minutes circling the parking lot (because Highland Village has the worst parking in Houston year-round)... - I ended up parking a quarter of a mile away... - I carefully selected wrapping paper, hoping to pair it with a beautiful ribbon... - Only to be told they couldn't wrap a single gift because one person brought in 75 presents to be wrapped! Thumbs Down: That wasted an hour of my time that I'll never get back. They really should limit the number of gifts a customer can have wrapped at once or hire additional staff to accommodate large orders. Roman was wrapping my product after I paid for service and materials. He walks away from me, only to attend to another customer after my arrival. I was disturbed and was offended by his unprofessionalism. He returns, only to repeat the same offense. He abandons me only to attend to another customer arriving after me. I immediately address my discomfort and shared how unprofessional he was by ignoring a current customer and walking away without completing the business transaction. He said he was alone and he does this all the time because he is working alone! At this point, I was LIVID... I told him I was going to contact corporate office with my encounter with him and Paper Source. Roman must either be placed on probation or be removed from his position in order to mitigate such adverse experiences to other customers, especially when peak Christmas holiday season is approaching near. Compensation must be submitted via Visa credit card for Roman's unprofessional behavior which should never be acceptable to Paper Source Human Resources compliance and customer appreciation... read more

I found this place through Yelp! I was looking for a place or a person that would be able to wrap a special gift. I walked in and looked around a little bit and then approached the counter to find out the process of getting my gift wrapped so you pick out a sheet and a ribbon to wrap your gift in I picked out a bow originally since I didn't know I needed to pick out a ribbon in order to get the look I wanted to achieve The lady at the counter suggested I pick out a ribbon instead so that I can have a really fancy bow and it would look more put together which I appreciated since this was my first time doing this. It came out amazing! The service is $8 plus the cost of material you choose! I have ribbon left over for the next time I want to get a gift wrapped here and there was some extra paper left but I'm not even sure what I can do with that honestly. Love this place! Papyrus better watch their back, because Paper Source is the new place in town to spend your money on paper goods. I was headed to Sprinkles cupcakes and noticed that Paper Source was next door. I parked in back and went through Paper Source to get to Sprinkles, but the detour took 20 minutes. Paper Source is a large store filled with all types of fun items! They obviously have tons of stationary (pre-made or special order), cards, scrap-booking supplies, stamps, stickers, and a ton of other fun nick knack stuff. I looked at some of the tote bags and mugs. In the back there is a serious wall of every color of paper you would ever need (see photo) in all sizes. I especially loved their single sheet designer wrapping paper. Another favorite of mine was the Japanese cherry blossom photo album. The ladies in there were super nice and helpful and ready to answer any questions you might have. I would highly recommend you stop in Paper Source and Sprinkles at the same time. STORE: 4.5 Stars WORKSHOPS: :: Mail Stationery Class :: 3 Stars (read individual review below) :: Book Binding Class :: 5 stars (read individual review below) MAIL STATIONERY CLASS - $28, 2 hours, 4-5 projects. -- Level: Beginner - Intermediate -- Difficulty: Easy This class was taught by one of their newer-comers, Kacie, who was extremely friendly, bright, and encouraging. You could have been an absolute newbie to arts and crafts and still kicked out quite a few pretty projects. The class started a little late (5-10 minutes after the hour?). Two of the four people signed up were going to be arrive late. Here are the various projects we worked on: 1. Custom envelop and card created from old calendars using the Paper Source envelope template. The card would use a large stamp on the front. The envelope would take up most of the calendar to be created. Also, we used clear embossing pens to write addresses on the envelope and dusted it with the gold glitter. 2. Custom envelope and card using a stamp layering technique, white embossing powder to "raise" the stamps, and pastel gel pens to color in the blank parts of the stamp. 3. Customizing envelop liner using a calendar with the Paper Source envelop liner template. 4. Custom postcard using balsa wood and embossing techniques. Probably the one that fell the flattest since the embossing gun warped, split, or flat out broke the balsa wood. I thought they were fun projects aimed at a beginner to a slight intermediate. These would not have been projects for experts looking for some new techniques or ideas. I love that classes give you an extra 10% off of purchases (not additional classes.) What I didn't like about this class was that there was one envelope template, one envelope liner template, two taping devices, and two pairs of scissors to be shared among four people. It would have impressed me more if I didn't have to wait on someone else to execute my idea. BOOKBINDING CLASS - $35, 2 hours, 1 project (designing a custom cover for a small journal) -- Level: Beginner -- Difficulty: Moderate The bookbinding class taught us how to create a custom hardcover using bookbinding cloth, book board, pre-bound text blocks (pages), your custom paper choice*, bone/teflon folder, and methylcellulose/PVA mixture (read: fancy glue.) Notably, the class fee includes materials including options for paper choices. You can buy your own paper and bring it to class. (I bought a prettier paper that I found in the store.) The class size was for 8-10 people, with 4 Paper Source employees also included in that head count. We had a young but craft-savvy girl in our class who might have been a middleschooler. This class was much more intensive than the bookbinding class, but none of us had any bookbinding experience. So, it's good for a beginner but maybe not a really young child as it's process-intensive. The teacher, Jasmine, has been binding custom books for over 3 years. She infused the class with a lot of structure, which was necessary for how to bookbind. She also was generous with her lessons learned. Other than a different paper cover choice, there wasn't a lot of flexibility to branch out and get all customized with your project. However, I think that's appropriate for this class. Fortunately, we did NOT have to share any materials (had they read my card-making review?) I really loved the techniques I learned in this class. My head is now in outer space and thinking of what other projects to do with what I learned last night. Envision Pooh Bear in deep concentration... "Think, think..." Tigger would have called it fun, fun, fun, fun, fun. I highly recommend this class if you've ever considered bookbinding. It is also for the more intense crafter. read more

I was being the astute and timely individual that I am with the most prepared and planned out Christmas shopping for the ones I love most, which brought me here on Christmas Eve for my not-even-yet-Facebook official Fiancé. I recently cane to visit the paper source location in Highland Village after my Sunday brunch. They had just opened and I decided to pop in to find a gift for a coworker. Upon entering the store their was already a customer at the register checking out. The older Caucasian man working the register looked at me as I entered and continued checking out the customer. I gave him the benefit of the doubt since he was already helping someone, but once the customer left I was completely ignored. He didn't say two words to me or even acknowledged my presence. He acted as if I was a ghost. No hello, good morning, nothing. He didn't look up one time. I could tell that I was not welcomed in the store and I left. That was my first time inside of a paper source store. I normally shop online and I have always loved their planners and gifts. I visited this location while in Houston for Christmas. I get giddy when buying new office supplies and have been known to frame a really good wrapping paper. I love me some Paper Source. This day, they were pretty packed with holiday shoppers. Paper Sources stage a lot of their mercy on tables and (again holiday season) the staging felt a little disjointed though they did have a "office mates" and "dude gifts" and other more specific-themed tables. Their planner and notebook game in this location didn't feel as strong as other stores though a staff member did assist my friend with unwrapping one to see the inner pages. This location also has an invitation section but it also seemed a little out of sorts so maybe wait till after the holidays to hit up this section. They have some great small "just because" gifts for friends or coworkers and I did end up buying a notepad and bowl for my stepmom while there. I'm sure this location is more easily navigable when it's not the holiday season but if you love some Paper Source maybe knock it out earlier during the season! read more

I explained that of course they should not resell it whether opened or not because it was defective. I have receipt showing this address and date and a photograph of the product. We have been able to download some templates and make minor adjustments. So we came here to price out envelopes and the printing paper. Had I not found Paper Source I would have caved and ordered something but they had exactly what I needed and then some. Not only did they have a wall of different colored envelopes but they had different sizes and styles. I especially loved the invites that had built in pockets to put the extra stuff such as directions and RSVP. But I ended going with style that lets you put a ribbon thru the invite. Last week I visited Paper Source to have my anniversary gift for my husband wrapped. I typically wrap my own presents but since my husband is working from home I have no place to do it discreetly. After my experience at this store, I'll probably never wrap another gift. Not only was the end result a piece of art, but it was an extremely pleasant time overall. One employee greeted me and helped me find the perfect paper to wrap the gift. They asked me questions about the gift and congratulated me on my anniversary and they were just so genuine and kind -- something I've really missed in human interaction between strangers since this pandemic began. I wish I gotten their name. Then the other employee, Edison, began wrapping the gift and even offered to make me a custom bow, to which I obliged, of course. It looked like a present on the front of a magazine cover! The price was very low for what I expected of this service so I offered a tip and Edison declined and just told me that it was their pleasure. If you are interested in learning, they do offer classes here from learning how to make cards, invitations, home decor and etc. After taking a class, I was hook into making cute cards. It is so easily to splurge in here if you are into crafts especially if you like making cards, scrap booking, invitations, and many more. This is my go to place if I need to get something done. Everyone here is so helpful and will let you bounce your ideas off. For instance, I had a vision of how I wanted a baby shower invitation but didn't know how to do it. I sat down with one of the ladies and they helped me with different ideas that I could do. If I went to a different place like Michael's or Hobby Lobby, I wouldn't get the service there like I got here at Paper Source. Also, Paper Source has a huge calendars, cards, and gift selection. Oh, Paper Source, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways: 1 - BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! Authentically friendly, helpful, funny staff who really care about you! I was so impressed! 2 - BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED CARDS! I don't think of myself as a "card person" but I am a huge sucker for beautiful and/or funny designs. The cards are all so clean cut and perfectly done, and I found holiday cards for everyone on my list, from goofy college friends to my grandpa. I loved their thank you cards -- modern, bright, crisp. I love Papyrus for their tactile cards (beads or feathers or texture glued on) but Paper Source, I hate to say it, has even better design. This was my first time here (I came because of the amazing Yelp reviews!) and I must have been there 45 minutes.. I was SO HAPPY to be surrounded by these awesome cards and had to force myself to leave before I bought half the store! I will be back!! It is pricey ($15 for an 8 pack was the norm) but if you want a unique, top of the line, beautiful or quirky card, this is your mecca. read more

I had a good experience browsing/shopping at Paper Source a few weeks ago. After looking at hundreds of wedding invitations online, ordering samples, and never finding exactly what I was looking for, I googled paper stores in Houston and followed the google machine's first suggestion to this store. My mom and I were greeted immediately by an associate and taken to the table where all of the wedding-related things can be found. And wow, I knew wedding stationary was overwhelming, but this place took it to a new level. Luckily, an associate sat us down, walked us through every book of samples and ran through every possible option in a logical way, quickly quelling the bridezilla freaking out inside of me. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the products. After 45 minutes or so, she helped me design a beautiful invitation set: the paper, the fonts, the design, the embossing, the envelopes, the envelope liner, the return address printing. Everything I couldn't customize online I could customize here. She even helped me cut down costs where she could, like assembling my own envelope liners, and even showed me how.... like she was more concerned with my needs than getting me to spend money. I did at times feel like I was being pushed along a little too quickly through the process since I didn't know exactly what I wanted, so I was a little upset at times when I felt like I suddenly "needed" things for my invitations that I really didn't think were necessary, but I think that's how the whole wedding industry works. Although I had a great experience with this woman, the prices were way out of my price range, even with the short cuts she suggested. I ended up going back and buying invitations from an online retailer, but if I wasn't a bride on a tight budget, I would have definitely dropped a pretty penny here.
