Went into Paper Source to pick up some things for a memorial and gifts. Not a single person greeted me even though there were about 2 other people in the shop. As other women entered (all white) they were all greeted, asked if they were finding everything ok and myself...ignored. The women working didn't even bother to look up at me as I shopped with my partner for some time. I had planned to spend some money on several projects, but felt so disgusted I left. Think about how you treat your non white customers, especially during these times. If your goal is to make sure we don't shop there, well congrats. read more

my sister and i stopped by to look around and were planning on picking up a few things. when we walked in no one greeted us. didnt think much of it at first. however, after a while, we realized that literally every single person was being greeted and asked if they are doing ok or have any questions. all of which were white passing. we were even looking at a stand right next to the check out counter where two employees were at and nothing. there were 2 or 3 employees working and not one even smiled at us. i have seen another review from a girl that had a similar situation, so i am going to say this wasnt an isolated incident. extremely disappointing to see people still act like this. read more

Great variety of upscale wrapping papers and ribbons, one of my weaknesses! I'm all about textures, patterns, and colors so walking into this shop makes me smile instantly. The papers here are truly beautiful. Arranged on wooden racks by color, in arrays of patterns and weights, there are special papers for every occasion. Whenever I give a gift, I spend as much time on selecting and creating the presentation, as the gift, and Paper Source makes it super easy. They also have gorgeous ribbons, gift bags, and unique cards so the end result is a beautiful one of a kind package that is delightful to receive. They also have a great assortment of stationary, invitations, journals, party supplies, pens and markers, wooden stamps, and desk supplies like calendars, scissors, paper clips and staplers. Shoutout to Elizabeth, the kindest sales associate ever!! I had been running behind on shopping and wrapping gifts for a big birthday party and came into the store, gifts in hand, to pick out the right bags and papers. I had two options, wrap panicked at the trunk of my car, or ask for a little help. Elizabeth who was there was so sweet!! She helped me wrap with ribbon, let me use a little tape and a pen to write out my card. Totally saved the day and made me look like not a last-minute aunt. Thank you Elizabeth!! I'll be back! I always find at least 10 things I want to buy here, which is a blessing--and I limit my purchases to 2-3 items and limit my visits so I don't over buy, which is easy for me in an artful stationery store. I love their tie clasp envelopes, letter size and open on the end. I love their oversized calendars--so analog of me. I love their knick knack stuff. I like their planners and pens. Service has always been friendly and efficient. I like space to browse and consider. I like the open layout of the floor space and displays. Someday I might take a class and attempt to get a bit more crafty. I'm a fan of their high quality paper that feels a bit silky textured and doesn't smell of chemicals. read more

**WC** Being in a wheelchair going through this store is hazardous to the pocket book because you are at such a great level to fully appreciate everything nifty they have out for sale. I went in just to look around and then discovered Rifle came out with a meal planner pad and a weekly to do pad...and file folders??!! Rifle Paper you are killing me seriously... Well, alright - I will buy the damned flamingo pen too. Oh yeah, they have cards too and all sorts of other things. I actually try to hit this place up 1-2 times monthly since, no joke, everything changes and sure they carry some things for more than a minute but they get so many new things in all the time - they're buyers are really spot on at finding great unique things. If I have time and do not have my husband glaring at something in boredom I will also check their card stock out and stock up a bit. So many different and perfect wrapping papers and accessories. Their staff really do love helping people out too so I imagine if you are not so good at wrapping and have a thing - bring that thing in there and ask for some guidance...they would probably not only help you buy love helping you put together that special thing. The Paper Source is my go to place for cards, and cutesie and funny gifts. They have a wonderful selection of handmade original cards, funny, serious, and sweet. They have great variety of gifty books, shot glasses, pint glasses, stamps, stickers, and toys. My favorite item from my last visit was the book "Go the F*#k to Sleep", its a must read;). The gift wrap selections are stunning, as well as their invitation section. The Paper Source is a bit pricey, but worth it. read more

I really like this store a lot. I usually come in to peruse if I'm a bit early for a movie or happen to need a card for some random occasion as I'm walking by. I like to buy cards at places like this to lessen the chance the recipient has seen it before somewhere else. The shop is very cute. Brightly lit, with great gift ideas for everyone. I even gifted myself a stack of 'stop talking' business cards when I was in over the weekend. You'll find a large collection of cards for all occasions, as well as wrapping materials, journals, scrapbooking supplies and other crafts. I wish they had a larger selection of supplies that were more geared toward business. I feel like that's always lacking in stationary stores, but maybe I'm just creating my own idea of what a stationary store should be. Paper Source definitely succeeds in what's it's trying to do, that's for sure. Now, it is expensive. Stationary stores always are. I also wouldn't say it's worth going out of your way for, but if you're in the area and need one of those random stationary items, this place has you covered. read more

I absolutely love Paper Source. In 2006 I made my own wedding invitations and used materials I purchased from Paper Source, the rest is history. I have been a faithful shopper online and now in store since two stores have opened in Oregon in the last several years. Need a fun birthday gift or hostess present? Pick of some of their cards, they are mix and match and have at least 30 colors, you can even buy a yard of ribbon and make it into a pretty package. I really love their paper my favorite colors are Pool, Papaya and paper bag. They have a large selection of cards, novelty items, and wrapping paper. They also sell beautiful wedding invitations. Sometimes I browse around in here for almost an hour and consider it time well spent, and usually bring home a bag of goodies. read more

GREAT place for fun gifts, cards, and other paper items. I buy a lot of stuff here for myself, and for my friends. I mean, I need a miniature Yoda at my desk, along with a Star Wars trivia book. The Wonder Woman lunch box comes in handy, along with my personalized stamp. My favorite items are the cards. They are creative and fun. Who else would sell a Thank You card that clearly states that I am only sending you this card to suck up? This place fits my sarcastic personality to a tee. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon looking for paper to make a vision board with. I needed it cut down to 14 by 14 because I do not cut in straight lines very well! I was told they do not usually do that, but because it was slow, they would do it for me! After having a snafu with my wedding invitations. I found myself in need for colored paper. I ended up googling and found these guys. Never heard of them before, not a huge fan of Brideport but way less a fan of trendy third. Walked in there to paper wonderland... wow! They indeed had exactly what I needed in the quantity I needed. The lady who helped me (and no I didn't get her name) was great and very helpful. She knew her paper and supplies and knew exactly where I had gone wrong. Got out for under $40.00.. but yes it is a fancy pants paper store, so the prices are kinda high. But I didn't feel gouged, more like okay sounds about right for this type of specialty shop. Came home and just printed the new version and it's way more lovely than it was before the snafu with this paper. Worth going to Brideport :) read more

Let me just say I have been a fan of this store for many years but my last experience there was a big zero. I came in with an iPad mini in the box that needed to be wrapped for a business gift. Simple enough box, I just didn't have time to wrap it. There is literally no one in the store but one clerk. She informs me that all the managers just went into a meeting and that she was not allowed to wrap a gift when she is the only one on the floor. She tells me she will check with the managers in back and see what she can do. Several minutes later, she comes back and tells me there's no way she can do it because they are in an important meeting and it's against company policy when there is only one person on the floor. I totally get it except there wasn't a soul in the shop. NOT A SINGLE PERSON. I asked her how long the meeting was and she said 20-30 minutes. No problem. I can get some dinner and fill that time slot. So we go about trying to select possible wrap choices and she's horrible. I'm basically doing her job. In the time it took for her to not help me pick paper and ribbon, the gift could have been done. So I am basically picking the whole look when she tells me the paper I've chosen comes in gift bags and boxes. UM HELLO!!! If I wanted to use a gift bag, I wouldn't have even spoken to you! It was at this point I turned to my handy dandy Yelp application and said out loud surely there is another place I can go. She tried to tell me there was no other at the exact moment I found another place. It's called Paper Caper and the woman who answered said as long as I got there before 6pm (12 minutes from then) she would GLADLY help me. So it's paper, print more. Anticipate the need and keep more in stock. If you don't have it to sell, I can't buy it and thus you lost a sale and a customer. Besides, the prices in this place for paper anything are RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE! I ended up at Staples where they had a multitude of bridal shower templates to choose from. It was so easy... I selected the design and color scheme I liked using their computer, customized the text online, and had 25 invitations printed in under 15 minutes for $19.99. Your loss Paper Source. read more

I just ordered my $10+ a piece wedding invitations from here. That's right, don't think you're saving money on invitation by getting them from Paper Source. The overall buying experience was good but since then its been rough. Multiple times the proofs of the invitations came back with spelling errors and they are just overall not very nice about helping you through a somewhat scary process. I asked them to help me figure out if the invitation would be more than an once once put all together (hence me needing more postage per invite) and the advice they gave me was "cut up some card stock and take it to the post office and weigh it yourself". Are you serious? You can't weigh my invitation for me and tell me its more than an ounce?? They do have cute cards and wrapping paper in the store. However, if you're going to spend money on your wedding invitations... go somewhere where they will treat you like a human and not just another "online purchaser." I went to visit shortly after opening since I like going to the store in Bellevue (WA), but this one is so much nicer. Smaller, but that's not a bad thing. The intimate setting means that you get a chance to talk to the sales staff, who are wonderful. They seem so excited to be there and show off all the fun stuff. This is the kind of place you go to and wish it was all your friends' birthdays/wedding/anniversary, since you'll find THE CARD for all of them. Not to mention all kinds of fun, random, unique gifts... for yourself or lucky recipients. This is a friendly, refreshing addition to Bridgeport Village. read more

In-store they have a very helpful staff and an awesome selection. But I had a less than pleasant experience overall. The staff took my email saying they would send me a coupon. The coupon never came. I called the store twice asking to make sure that my email was in the system, and both times they checked and were very nice about it, and yet the coupon never came. I was also told that online purchases over $30 don't have a shipping charge, which is not true. To top it off, while I spent a week waiting for the coupon, they sold out (online) of the paper I had already bought several boxes of, so it's back to the drawing board. Very frustrating. Sorry Paper-Source -- you're doing well in-store but your email system, shipping & stocking bring you down to just two stars in my book. read more

I love everything about this store except the discrepancy between the hours they are open in real life and the hours that Google and the Paper Source website say that they are open. Three times now, once during the holidays and twice during non holiday times I have needed to stop by for a last minute crafting item, all three times google and the company website have indicated that the store is open and then upon arrival I have found the store to be closed. read more

Came in here, someone shouted from the back, "welcome in", which was nice. Started to look around, another woman walks through the door, she also got a hello from the back, but after a minute or so, the same person walked up to her to tell her about the sales and what is happening at the store. I was standing almost next to the woman that the retail person was talking to, but completely ignored me. After her spiel, she walked straight to the back to do what ever she was doing in the first place. What the heck? Is it because my skin is not the right shade of light? I have always adored PaperSource, and I usually go to the one on 23rd avenue downtown Portland. The blatant preference over other customers and not all, is plain stupid. I was greeted by kind staff and a variety of products, some being pricey, but many in a fair range. I had a very positive experience checking out with the employee (who's name currently escapes me) being both professional and bubbly in attitude.
