Our server told us that the kitchen was running behind, but our friends were at the table next to us (with a different server) and they ordered when we did and had finished eating before our food even arrived - and I had to go find someone to inquire about it as our server never returned after dropping off drinks. She did apologize and take an item off the bill and hand us a few drink coupons which was appreciated, but the experience had put a damper on our enthusiasm (especially after we told the rest of our party how awesome the place was). I sat at the bar because I was by myself and certainly didn't want to take up an entire couch and leave that for others that may have larger parties. As soon as I sat down my server came to take my order. While I wasn't really planning to eat, once I looked at the menu the Chicken Nachos were calling my name. Even though I am counting calories, I had to order. Man, when they came out they were huge and so so good. You can order the chicken blackened which I did and man it was great. I just sat and enjoyed my very caloric nachos and a cocktail and just really took it in. I don't live in Terre Haute, I live in Indianapolis, but I spend a ton of time in Terre Haute for work. You enter through a speakeasy type door. I'm not a huge fan of these but it is fine. Inside there is a decent sized bar and a mixture of different table sizes. When our group went in person the service was just horrible. The saving grace was that the food was outstanding. Another night I just did pickup. Again the food (wings and fries) was outstanding. The food was ready a little bit after the projected time, but not egregiously so. So overall great food, decent atmosphere, but the service could be better. This seems to be a consistent complaint across reviews, so hopefully the managers/owners are paying attention and can improve things.
