Los Reyes OWNERS.. I hope you see this. My husband eats at your establishment weekly. I come pick up his food atleast twice a week... we had a nasty soggy order and I called to see if they could re-make the order.. SHE was extremely rude and said for me to bring the food back in immediately or take a picture.. I got the order at almost 9pm.. and the restaurant closed at 9:30pm. I'm not driving all the way back in a hurry for that.. just disappointed about the service.. new management or something I'm not sure but wow you are losing some great customers!! Passed by here many times and haven't really noticed it since I was focused more on driving. But today it stood out to me and was beckoning me to come try them so I did. I was greeted and seated immediately in a lavishly decorated dining room. Everything is tiled or painted. The tables, the chairs, the walls, the booths, even the light fixtures and the table pedestals. I ordered the Shrimp and Crab filled Enchiladas which is something I've never seen on a menu let alone try. It was good but different. Not the usual cheese or chicken enchiladas I'm used to. I wanted something different and I got it. The crab was delicious. Something else different was only one side, either rice or beans, not both as usually the case other places. I ordered the Cheesecake Chimichanga for dessert. They were two bite sized pieces of cheesecake with strawberry topping inside a thin fried crust that was sweetened. The service was wonderful! We could not have been any more satisfied with the young lady that waited upon us. The food was lacking. The chimichanga I had was good buy soggy. The refried beans had a foul flavor. It could be a recipe I'm not familiar with, but it tasted like it had been well past the expiration date. The wife's nachos were served with so much sauce the the chips limp and were not able to hold any of the toppings. A shame since the chips we while waiting were really good. Living in the boondocks it's hard to find a good Mexican restaurant! We were in Martinsville today picking up supplies at Walmart. Purchased enough flour, bacon and-beans to last us till fall. As we turned the wagon toward home we passed the court house and spied los Reyes. I can't say it was authentic but it was good! The dining room was colorful and the tamales, tacos, beans and the chille rellenos were excellent. I strongly suggest you all give it a try! read more

This locally owned Mexican restaurant is filled with vibrant colors and good food. The dining area is decorated with three dimensional panels depicting various activities in Mexican life and history. Each table top has a different scene as well. I ordered a Burrito Grande for my lunch selection. The Grande is stuffed with chicken, shrimp, and steak along with tomato and onions, wrapped in a burrito, and then topped with a white cheese sauce. Fresh lettuce, tomato, and sour cream is provided on the side. I had my choice of rice or beans to complete the meal. The meal didn't look all that appealing visually (a big white cheese covered lump), but exceeded the presentation with taste. Sure, the shrimp gets a little rubbery when wrapped inside with the other hot ingredients, but managed to avoid getting too well done. The flavors were quite good, especially when I covered the burrito with the side ingredients. The beans, though a little odd in color, were tasty as well. While waiting, my waiter brought my water, complementary salsa and chips (even offering refills of all those!) and was efficient at clearing away finished plates. (Note: other servers passed my table without clearing, so I don't think this is one of those "team" service restaurants.) And when it came time to settle the bill, he brought it back quickly and processed the payment at the front counter. Overall, a very pleasant experience dining here. I'm from California and eat Mexican food quite often and have a good idea of what it should and shouldn't taste like and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Both times, there appeared to be no alcohol in the margaritas, and something was said at least on the second occasion. Also, because of that, I ordered a 16oz draft beer. It was delivered in what appeared to be a 12oz glass. I asked about it and the server initially stated it was a 12oz glass and I said I'd paid for a 16oz beer. I took my granddaughters to Martinsville to get manicures. Before our appointments we decided to go to lunch. This restaurant is up to par for the Mexican restaurants that I've been to in Indiana. Just meh. I ordered the carne asada tacos and the corn tortillas were not cooked right and just broke apart. So, I just ate it as a plate of meat, onion and cilantro. The girls lunches were okay and then queso was good. The wait staff was very nice. Great location on the square with easy assessable parking. They are reasonably priced for families with a decent kids menu. Their salsa is fresh and one of the best I've had. I enjoy foods of all types. Going to places I've never been before is exciting for me. My brother who lives in Arkansas came in town for Easter and is staying a week. It's fun to take him new places. We came to go to a huge flea market. We stopped to go get something to eat. Our first choice was closed so we went to this Mexican Restaurant. There was 5 of us and we all got something different. My lunch was delicious and everyone enjoyed theirs except my brother said the refried beans and rice that came with his had no flavor. They gave us 3 baskets of delicious chips when we arrived and 3 large bowls of salsa. The salsa was good, but had no spice to it at all. Maybe you need to ask for it to be spicy? I would go back. When you're best friend lives in Bloomington and you live in Indy and you also both live on chips and queso and margs, you meet half way to live your dream. We indulged in an excessive amount of tequila, queso and fajitas while catching up one evening to the point of unbuttoning our pants to make more room for more tequila, queso and fajitas. The marg: We ordered mediums...now this "medium" was like an extra large. Holy margarita! Not mad about it, but be prepared! The queso: The chips never stopped coming so we ordered the large. This is your typical white cheddar queso found at many Mexican restaurants. Delish. The fajitas: Between three of us, we thought it best to order the double chicken fajita. We were told it serves 3-4 people. NO. This thing could feed a family of 10!! This fajita was the size of a small dog. Again, i am not mad, but just be prepared to do the courtesy unbutton when ordering a double fajita! For the middle of no where in a town that is... shall we say, devoid of much else, this restaurant REALLY shines. The decor alone is worthy of note. Absolutely beautiful interior, and very friendly hosts and servers. The food: I had the Reyes salad, and it was very crisp and fresh. The rest of the family enjoyed their meals as well. This turned out to be an extremely disappointing and maddening experience due to misinformation by the waiter, the kitchen not serving what I ordered TWICE or even melting the cheese in the enchiladas and an owner that doesn't listen to valid complaints and logic to learn from the situation and change their manor of conducting business. I had looked at their menu earlier in the evening and asked questions from the owner while up front near the entrance, when I happened upon their restaurant when walking down the street while working nearby at an event. Nothing else was open nearby so I went back to sit down to eat. I again looked at the menu and asked the waiter what type of taco and enchilada came with the #11 combination (which consist of a taco, enchilada and chile relleno); he said it would be a ground beef taco and a cheese enchilada. I also ordered an a tamale and gaucamole. It started out well since the gaucamole and salsa were good. (Their chips are just ok as they are a bit too thick and hard; I prefer thinner, light-textured ones like the Xochitl brand.) But then the waiter set the combo plate down and the tamale and I had no silver ware which he went to get. I should have taken a pic of the combo plate because it was very odd in that on the right was a mound of something covered in a thin layer of cheese that did not look like a chile relleno and I couldn't even tell if the other plate had a tamale on it under another mound of ground beef. As I used my fork to explore under the mound on the combo plate to find no chile releno, the waiter said that they must have been out and substituted it with this rather disgusting ground beef mound that he called something, that I can't remember, that was not on the menu. And then I realized that the enchilada was also filled with this ground beef with no cheese. I said that if they were out of the chile relleno then the kitchen should inform the wait staff and have trained them to inform the customer before they place their order, so that I could have changed to some other combo or a la carte items. I was was rather upset that I was served all of these ground beef versions when I ordered a variety! I said that I would keep the taco and tamale and change to the combo #5 which included the taco I had already received and 2 enchiladas with rice and beans. Again I asked what type of enchiladas they usually served with it and if I could have 1 chicken and 1 cheese one. He said yes or I would have just added a la carte items. Then he returns plopping down 2 cheese enchiladas and another huge plate of rice and beans. I asked why they gave me so much rice and beans and did he explain to the kitchen that I changing to another combo which should have had a small portion of beans and rice. I did not want an a la carte order of each of these. And I asked why again I did not get what I ordered, which was 1 chicken enchilada and one cheese one and I pointed out that the cheese was not even heated up thoroughly! I repeatedly had to ask other waiters to go get my waiter between all these issues. At this point I asked to speak to the owner. They said that he was gone. I asked for a manager. They said there wasn't one!!! Then a woman came over and I explained to her that at this point I just wanted to pay for the gaucamole, taco and tamale and leave. I did not want the unmelted cheese enchiladas (that the one small bite I had of, did not taste even decent), rice and beans. I just wanted to leave. Then the owner comes over, who obviously was there! He asked what I wanted to pay for and I told him and tried to explain all that was wrong with what transpired. He kept cutting me off and would not listen at all to learn from this and change their lack of training in the kitchen and with the waiters. He just said forget about paying and just leave. He was totally dismissive!!! I left the gross enchiladas, beans and rice and took the salsa, gaucamole and what was left of the taco and tamale to go. I went up to the hostess/cashier stand and said that I would like to pay for the gaucamole, cilantro, taco and tamale. She didn't know what to do. The waiter walked over and another woman as I again explained all that was wrong and that I TWICE didn't get what I ordered. I asked the waiter why the kitchen gave me 2 cheese enchiladas when I said that I would sub the #5 combo if I could get 1chicken enchilada and 1 cheese. Incredibly he said that it came with 2 cheese ones and that he didn't tell the kitchen that I ordered a chicken one. So I said, why did you tell me that I could get that and not tell the kitchen?! And why are you now saying that it comes with cheese ones when you did not say that on the 2nd order and yet I was told that when I ordered the first time, the #11 combo, but I got a beef enchilada?! NONE OF THIS MAKES ANY SENSE!!! So, agggghhhh!!! Hair pulling time! This is not how you should run a restaurant!! Appetite ruined. Horrible experience. read more

Below average meal and terrible service. Last night we ordered basic burritos and enchiladas. My boyfriend said his burritos were dry. My enchiladas and beans were simply bland. Salt and salsa would have helped both of our meals but there was no salt on the table, and we consumed all of the salsa with our chips (best part of the meal). Not once did anyone come and check on us after our food was delivered. Couldn't ask for salt, more salsa, or refills for drinks because our server never reappeared. A completely different person dropped off our bill. We're from Indy...much better Mexican food in Indy. Won't be back. read more
