Food was fine, not great but not bad. Tortilla seemed to just be a store bought one. It's pretty pricey for breakfast, each plate was $13.99. Nice people, you order when you walk in and self serve drinks. We were staying at Mother Neff State Park and just passing through. read more

Delicious little local cafe. My team and I were working a job at Mother Neff State Park. The park recommended Lucy's to us and I am glad they did. They have specials on different days of the week. Tacos was their special of the day but I was craving a burger so I ordered the double meat cheeseburger with fries and a drink. They weren't very busy so the food came out fairly quick. The food was piping hot off the grill. It was exactly what I was hoping a little cafe that cooks the food to order and is good to the last bite. read more

We drove by and had to stop at this little cafe. This is where the locals are going. We've been for both breakfast and lunch. It definitely has a small town cafe feel. The food is terrific! The carne guisada is tender and flavorful. I loved the veggie omelette for breakfast! The staff is friendly and one nice lady talked with us and gave us suggestions for family activities in the surrounding areas. We will definitely go back! read more

Neat little cafe off the side of the road with a great breakfast inside. We had pancakes, biscuits& gravy, eggs, bacon, migas and ham. Everything was made in the back on the grill and was fantastic. Lucy's Cafe is a local brunch spot. The family that runs the restaurant is very friendly and they make delicious eggs, bacon, and toast at affordable prices. I have met Lucy (the restaurant is named after her) and this is the place to visit whenever I'm in Moody. This diner also serves Mexican fare and burgers too. There's an extensive menu of items but we're usually here for breakfast. The TV is constantly tuned to the local weather channel. I guess they really like to watch the weather! The place is small and usually busy during the weekends during the brunch hours. There's never a wait though. Order your food at the counter and they will bring it to you. It's not a traditional sit down place where they take your order. Bonus points for taking credit cards. I rarely carry cash these days anyway. read more

My wife and I stopped in for lunch (10 mins before they closed). Ordered a chicken quesadilla "plate" and a chicken sandwich (sans onions) with a small fry. Food came out quickly; however, my chicken quesadilla had beef in it and the chicken sandwich had extra onions on it. The rice and refried beans that came with the quesadilla had been cold. This is your typical small town diner. Food is actually better than you would expect. Prices are really reasonable. They could raise their prices by 20% and still be reasonable. Nothing fancy to look at, they are open weird hours, but their food is surprisingly really good. read more

Went to counter to find out. Grandma was working front counter. Fine, but she didn't hear very well and didn't explain how the restaurant worked so I ordered & hubby went to find a table. Food came in a reasonable time. Hubby said burrito was ok. But my BLT looked a little sad. Bread barely toasted and on first bite, bacon shattered everywhere. Will never go there again slow service, wrong order, rude owner. Took my grandson there (donut shop was closed for vacation) we both ordered a burrito and sat down to wait, 20 minutes later it shows up, I look and mine has eggs on it (I don't eat eggs at restaurants) when I mentioned that it was wrong the owner stated "I put eggs on everything you need to specify not to put them in" ummm no i specifically ordered a beans, chorizo and bacon burrito read more

Pleasantly surprised. Decided to try it driving through Moody. Very friendly staff. Food took a little bit to come out, but it was hot and delicious. We had eggs, hash browns, toast, pancakes, bacon, and ham. Everything was good. I see they also serve lunch and dinner so definitely give them a try! read more

Been here several times. They serve American and Mexican dishes. I have had the Meatloaf special, Enchilada Plate, Cheeseburger, Fajita Plate and something else that I don't recall. I enjoyed them all. The family that owns and operates it are all very friendly and welcoming. It is worth the drive out from Temple. And most days they have several types of cake to choose from for only a couple of bucks per slice. read more

I feel very fortunate to live close to this cafe. The atmosphere is really good. When you order your meal, the menu offers a variety of different items to choose from. You can even use your debit or credit card when paying. Each day they have specials. They offer many types of cake. Tried them all and they are very good. The cafe is very clean. Oscar and Bertha the owners sre so very nice. Diego who does evenings, he too is a very polite young man and makes sure all the customers are happy. The prices are very reasonable. Out this way, stop in. You will not regret it. The food is good. read more

Burger was not good, it tasted like a cheap frozen patty and it was tough. I didn't try the onion rings because they were frozen from a bag. The enchiladas also were not very good, best thing was the salsa, it was just ok.I would choose fast food over Lucy's any day. read more
