Stopped in for takeout here on Friday night. They do have a small seating area but it seems more suited to take out. Ordered 10 tacos, fries and gaucamole. Everything was correct as ordered and delicious! Prices are great. $2 for a taco and $3 for fries. My favorite was the chourico taco because it had a little spice. Unfortunately, I was so hangry and the tacos, empañadas, burritos and quesadilla snatched my attention. Devour I did. So fast and furiously that there is no tangible evidence of me ever being here. I was expecting a lot more when I visited Papi's for Taco Tuesday. It was recommended by someone so I figured I would give it a shot. To start, they have a lot more than just tacos on their menu, but on Tuesdays you can save a buck one when purchase 3 tacos. I tried steak, chicken, and carnitas as my 3 fillings, all soft tacos on corn tortillas. The toppings are lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese and you can get mild or hot sauce on the side. The steak was probably the most bland of the bunch. The chicken was probably the best. Overall through, bland across the board. Without a bit of hot sauce added it would have been pretty unforgivable actually. Even the cheese was so minimal it provided no flavor. This was pretty sad. The fried plantains were standard. Good. Nothing to complain about there. The restaurant itself is very small and cozy. I actually love the fireplace and the colorful decor, as well as the tiny Christmas tree with skull decorations. The cozy atmosphere is probably my favorite thing about this place. I really wish the tacos had more flavor, because this location is very convenient and the prices are great, but I can't help but be disappointed. Nothing to really write home about. read more

So after work today we stopped again and that place is filthy thick dust on ceiling and just feels like you need a hazmat suit to go in, also not very friendly and food was pretty bland. This place has become our go-to Mexican food. We eat from Papis once a week since the pandemic started. Their beef and Chorizo Papi's burrito is AMAZING (Get it with refried beans". Also, their chips and bean dip are delicious. My daughter loves the beef or chicken quesadillas, and if she does not eat it all, it's even better as leftovers heated on an air fryer--their nachos as also excellent as a group appetizer. Absolutely rude customer service! The girls in the counter are just full of attitude for no goddam reason. went in to pick up my take out and she literally kept ignoring me. Even after all the tables are taken care of. My take out was literally on the goddam counter and I can see it. It's a small space and she acted like she didn't even see me. Or acknowledged me. Waited like 10 mins I couldn't wait any longer and I literally went up to her and said I'm picking up and order and I think that's mine. She didn't say anything and just grabbed menus out of the way rung me out and then charged me for sauce on the side. I have passed by this place probably a hundred times. Always meaning to stop in. It's location is easy to get to and convenient. Finally the other night I did. Very family vibe place. Nice fireplace in the corner for such a small place giving off a very relaxing atmosphere. The help was very friendly and nice. I am it a huge fan of Mexican food. But I like my tacos and burritos. But for the first time I went simple with tacos. Sadly, it did not have much taste. Meat was rather bland and a bit greasy as it just watered out of the shell. Taco shell was slightly greasy but had a great crispy crunch. The way a taco shell should crunch. The price was very reasonable. But it is not a place I would say to myself, "I'm in the mood for tacos... I need a Papi's Taco" actually I probably won't even remember it when I want tacos or was memorable enough to cross my mind. I have nothing bad to say.. but also nothing great to report here. Probably won't be back to try that burrito. read more
