Oz tacos brought to you by the chef of Xaco Taco based on what the menu says. I love Xaco Taco myself- some people fight with me on that but I fight back. Anyways, we're here for OZ TACO'S. I came for taco Tuesday. $3 tacos with a drink purchase. Not very authentic, but just about every one of these hit! My personal favorites were surprisingly the Mahi Mahi and the shrimp tacos. The chicken tinga was good, shredded pork was tasty, Pastrami interesting (a little on the tough side for the meat, still liked it), the gyro was loaded, I enjoyed it but could have used some dill or lemon, maybe a garlic punch as well. I didn't care for the Carne asada- the meat needed to be a bit more tender. For $3 each, I'm not filing any formal grievances.. In fact, I know I'll be back here. The food comes out fast, the staff is kind and you can order as you go. Thanks for a great taco Tuesday!

We came in for best of RI tacos and well, they were so good that we didn't take photos! We each got a chicken and steak taco and both loved them! We paired it with happy hour chips and guacamole and some drinks. The prices were so reasonable we honestly couldn't get over how little the bill was! That's rare to say in this economy! The drinks, like the food, were really good, I would totally have mine again the next time! The service was great. Our waitress was wonderful, and several other staff members checked in on us as well. Very impressive! The ambiance of here is exceptional. It's clear what the theme is, without going over the top! I always love coming here. So far they're my fave taco of the month! Thanks for another great experience!

My third stop on the RI Food Fights trail brought me to OZ Tacos and Tequila. And after the day I had today at the office ...tequila was needed. It's a bustling Friday night, but I was able to find a seat at the bar. After a few moments I was brought a menu and I immediately ordered the house margarita. It came quickly, strong, tart and a little sweet. For the fight, you get your choice of two tacos, minus the lobster esquites. They have quite the creative combinations but I went with two Mojo Pork. You don't have to do two of the same but I chose to. As I waited for my food, I noted the decor. Oz is aptly named, it has a Wizard of Oz theme...if it was located in a Mexican cantina in the 60s. Andy Warhol style art, grass walls, an extensive tequila selection and Nancy Sinatra singing about her boots give a chaotic vibe in the mostly complementary way possible. I loved it. My tacos arrived and after quickly getting my pictures out of the way, I squeezed my lime and dug in. Holy moly was it good. Succulent roasted pork tenderly shredded with the tangy sweetness of the tamarind glaze juxtaposed against the heat from the cherry peppers delights the taste buds. Then the herbaceous cilantro cuts through to lift and brighten the taco to a truly delicious experience. I am so glad I got two of them because one wasn't enough. My only regret is I didn't realize one taco had four slices of cherry pepper and the other only had one. I would have distributed the peppers accordingly but the one slice was big enough that I could stretch it across the whole taco and enjoy it just as much as the first one. I was still hungry after the tacos so I ordered a side of the Mexican Street Corn (served off the cob) and a side of chips. Now, a lot of times when people say Mexican Street Corn off the cob it's just esquites and they use an Americanized term for marketability. In this case, this was like they made an elote and then cut it off the cob into the bowl. Salty, cojita cheesy and tangy with the extra lime, it hit the spot with some chips. They have the thicker style tortilla chips, great for holding fat bites of corn! You could see the clusters of kernels confirming freshly shelled corn. I ended up taking the rest home to enjoy another time. With my time here at an end I left full and happy I found another tasty spot to visit again.

Went back and decided to dine in this time, and it did not disappoint! The food was still a perfect 10/10, the service was outstanding, and the Wizard of Oz themed decor was absolutely charming. I had the Bang Bang Shrimp Taco and the Honey Hot Chicken Taco, with a side of Mexican street corn everything was delicious. I also tried a mocktail, which was just as amazing!

Oz Tacos & Tequila never disappoints. This was the third year ina row that we enjoyed the fabulous tacos while doing RI Food Fights Taco Mania! The staff is always friendly with a great atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is also a big plus. Definitely follow the yellow brick road to Oz Tacos & Tequila!

Really cute interior- totally unexpected place it was in a strip mall. Came here based on the google reviews. It was defiantly Mexican with a twist - the service was great, food was decent and prices are what you would expect given the current economic environment. It was different- but it all hit me as just OK. I won't be rushing back. Based on some of the specials looks like a good place to hang out when they have happy hours, etc. I found the short rib taco very salty- in contrast the nachos (not complimentary) had no flavor at all (and they were very thick cut). The tacos were nearly impossible to eat like a taco. They were served flat on a tray.

Always one of our favorites on the RI Food Fights Taco Mania competition trail and whenever we're up this way. The "little sister" restaurant to Providence's Xaco Taco, a more authentic Mexican taqueria joint, Oz is the magical land where you land after the tornado & everything's different. Here tacos may have Asia, or southern or other unique vibes. We arrived just at the beginning of lunch to a quiet room which quickly filled while we were there. Service was friendly & super efficient to get people back out quickly when they needed. We started off with queso, chips & salsa. Yes - that queso is a junkfood, American creation. But, truth be told, I would bathe in the stuff if I could. Theirs was delicious with warm, fresh chips & a tasty salsa. Couldn't stop eating it. A yummy Watermelon Agua Fresca was a tasty accompaniment. For tacos, we tried the Pork Belly, Hot Chicken, Bang Bang Shrimp & Baja Fish. All were flavorful & delicious but we agreed that the shrimp was our favorite of the four. It would be fun to come in really hungry & try them all at once! This is a fun place with fun food & good service - we always enjoy returning!

My bang bang shrimp tacos from here were absolutely delicious! They were dripping in bang bang sauce (which was perfect) without being soggy. The other show stopper was the carne asada fries. They were truly heavenly!! Full of cheese, crema and guac. The carne asada was flavorful and juicy.

I visited Oz Tacos and Tequila for the RI FOOD FIGHTS' Taco Mania, but this restaurant is a staple for me. They have great specials that they run every week including $2 Taco Tuesdays. That being said, they do get pretty busy. They have a smaller restaurant, but it has a bar area, high tops, and booths, and an outdoor patio area. Their tacos and drinks are always delicious. My go to order are the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos and my drink recommendation is the Squeaky Wheel. Always a great meal in a fun atmosphere with great staff!

The tacos and burritos are small, and while they're good, they're not at a level where the cost makes sense. At this price point, I expected either noticeably higher-end ingredients or something that really stands out beyond a solid taco/burrito. Pawtucket tap water out of crate and barrel glasses. Lipstick on a pig! Thick chips (needs salt), super fresh guacamole. Win for the guac! 2 tacos. 1. Birria: it's a dirty taco. It's $3 and change for the consomme! (What?!) Lacked flavor. Needs a little something. I added lime and sour cream. 2. Asada: again, missing flavor. I did have 2 bites of their $18 cheese quesadilla (totally overpriced) I did like their cheese but it sat in a small puddle of liquid. Refried beans were very creamy but needed salt. I was left confused over the nomination...

Inside is small with only a few tables, and a counter front with a large menu displaying the food options in Spanish. They provided menus that had options in both English and Spanish (but it was obvious the restaurant catered more to a Spanish speaking audience). That being said, the staff was extremely friendly and had no problem communicating in English. Food selection included tacos, quesadillas, nachos, burritos, and other Mexican fare. Most everything had significant choices as to what protein type you might want on it. Foot quality was amazing. We had only a small variety of food choices in our party of 6, but everyone agreed their food was high quality and tasted great. Overall, if you want a no frills option for high quality Mexican food at a good price, I don't think you're going to find much better.

This place is small and does fill up but seems like most do take out. Parking is a bit tight and limited to street parking, but on a rainy day, there was plenty available. Staff was very friendly and attentive to getting us drinks, more tacos, and checking in on us~ my family speaks Spanish, and staff are fluent and native speakers of Spanish. Central fall caters to a mostly Hispanic population, so it's very welcoming. My partner speaks english, and with his limited Spanish, he ordered with no issue and the staff understood him well. My burrito was customized to my preference which had the cheese, rice, avocado, and no crema. Sounds very restrictive if that's just how my diet is, and I'm so glad they complied and gave me a delicious burrito! The meat was savory and tasty and the table had a container with three different sauces. The hottest was the dark red, and it was super good! I actually finished the whole meal and didn't feel too heavy. It was satisfying. The tacos were tasty, messy, but good. My partner ordered two more and he was too focused on his food to take a picture. For drinks, I got a seasonal drink called Atole Chanpurrado, which is made from corn flour, corn starch, and milk along with cinnamon. There are many versions, but this restaurant had the traditional one. It was super tasty and warm, very enjoyable on a cold rainy day. It was very homey!
