ONLY TIME WE WERE SCAMMED!!! CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS. Our bill was crossed out and written $190 and the waiter said "tip not included"... and when we calculated our items, the total was only $140. When we disputed the bill, his reply was "tax." OF COURSE, we know that tax shouldn't be more than 20 percent. We kept questioning the bill and his next reply was, "it's tax and tip." We did our own calculations and it was cheaper than $190. He agreed to charge our card $186....but INSTEAD, he tried to be slick by charging $190 in pesos. WE ARGUED WITH HIM AND HE GAVE US CHANGE IN DOLLARS. I can't believe this place. Other tourists didn't check their receipts and were scammed as well! The restaurant gave other people receipts in pesos (without the itemization) assuming they wouldn't do the conversion. read more

What comes to mind when talking about Aquarium Beach Resort/Papito's in Cozumel? SCAMMERS! We arrived at the port at 12pm. We were lured by a driver saying this place has everything from snorkeling to kayaks, paddle boats and floating water park. We paid $60 (party of 14) one way. One shuttle could fit us but they insisted on taking 2 shuttles. When we arrived the scam started off with the tequilla. They tried charging us $160 for a bottle of tequilla that we found at duty free for $15. Although the food was good, it was way overpriced! They charged extra for a little container of salsa, extra charge for a little bowl of beans, $3 for small bottled water, and when we asked for extra plates, they charged us $1 for each little plate. They were even cheap with cups and ice as we were trying to share the bottled water. The food platter for $65 barely fed 3 people. Now to the beach... Nice if you like broken glass and bottle caps! Floating playground was worn out and torn. Paddle boats were out of order and they even told my mother that they would kick her out of the resort for taking out a snack out of her purse. The swimming pool was small and not worth it. Now after all that, we tried making the best of it. Then they tell us it closes at 4:00 pm! WTF?! For entrance fee, overpriced food, and tequilla scammers.... totally left that place feeling cheated. read more

Be careful this people are scammers!they over charge you for everything ,food is very poor for the price ,they said is fresh seafood and they give you frozen tilapia even they are next to the ocean full of fish ,they charge you $14 to get into the beach then $23 for frozen tilapia or frozen calamari rings ,nothing free like they said in the entrance if you use the kayak $15 an hour + $7 live jacket read more

This place may have been the only time we were scammed in Cozumel during a weeklong visit in late June. At the entrance to the park, the gatekeepers tell us you get a free drink here. That wasn't what lured us, as we were primarily there to go snorkling but it turned out there was no free drink. The scam was that they tried to insist that we pay a hefty fee for equipment and/or a guided snorkling tour of "their" area of the beach/ocean (which they don't post and only tell you after you've settled in, even if you're carrying gear). No such restrictions at the beach club next door. read more

This is the best place to eat in Cozumel Mexico! The sea food is amazing and make sure to get the seafood platter with shrimp,lobster,octopus,calamari, and grouper. It was by far the best seafood I have ever had! The Mexican platter was also great! Definitely go if u want great food and a super friendly staff and a great view! read more
