This restaurant is AMAZING!!! Their social distancing procedures are great. Tables were spaced a part and mask were required upon entering. Now let's talk about their food. YES YES AND YES AGAIN!!! I will certainly be returning. Our table was loaded. We had the seafood gumbo, the crawfish dish, fried fish and shrimp and let's not forget their house salad. My husband and auntie really enjoyed ourselves. If we weren't so stuffed we would have ordered dessert, but there was no room for dessert. This is truly a 5-Star restaurant. Our party of four went to this mostly Cajun restaurant today for a very late lunch. We were seated immediately and after studying the menu ordered our food. The salads were delicious and the bread and butter were memorable. I got the Cajun catfish and shrimp with dirty rice. Yum! My catfish was huge. Looks like we're going to be forced to return for an encore. Lol My friend got a free dessert for her birthday and we all dug in to celebrate. Our server even put a lit candle on it. One of my favorite seafood restaurants! I've been multiple times over the years and it never disappoints. We tarted out with gator appetizer, which I highly recommend. The gator sauce was amazing and each bite was tender with just the right amount of crisp. Hands down my favorite part of the meal and will have to do the larger plate next time. I had the fried shrimp lunch speedily with grits, catfish and chicken tenders. My daughter had the stuffed crab lunch combo. The stuff crab certainly won top spot for this part of he meal and was jealous I didn't order it. The environment at the restaurant is simple yet eloquent. A place you can certainly dress up for or be more casual. Huge shout out to our waiter Jonathan! He was an excellent host, very accommodating, and very much anticipated much of our needs without being asked (refills, extra sauce, and such). Recommend asking for him if he's there! I have been to Pappadeaux many times, in several states, and it's always a hit. Tonight I visited with some family who had never been, for a pre-Christmas dinner. It has been a couple years since I visited, so I was surprised to find that the place was dead during peak dinner time the week of Christmas. I've seen some not great reviews recently and I started getting nervous that the place had gone downhill, especially as their prices have gone up. I'm usually a crawfish platter kinda gal, but I decided to try something new tonight and I went with the shrimp & grits and boy am I glad I did! It was slightly spicier than I expected, but I wouldn't have changed it. I also got the Blood Orange Buck drink, which tasted like it had freshly squeezed blood orange juice, very tasty! My only gripe about this visit was sadly our server. For how dead the place was, I would have expected him to be a little more attentive. The service wasn't bad, just way fewer check-ins than I would have liked, and we were brought our checks without being offered dessert, which a couple of us planned to order. All in all, I do recommend Pappadeaux if you love Cajun food, or even just fresh seafood. With a more upbeat, attentive server, this would have been a 5 star review. read more

I ordered the GRILLED SHRIMP & GRITS from which the menu described as: Grilled shrimp, creamy cheese grits with andouille & sweet corn in a spicy Creole butter - for $25.95. What was served to me was - a plate of creamy grits without the andouille topped with overcooked, very salty shrimps, and drizzled with a very salty, brown sauce. The spicy Creole seasoning taste was absent in my dish. The food appeared to look-like Creole shrimp and grits (see photo) but definitely did not taste like the shrimp and grits I had in NOLA nor the classic shrimp and grits from The Carolinas. I addressed the issue with the server and she politely said sorry, then suggested that the saltiness may have been from the seasoning. For these reasons, I'm giving this Pappadeaux location 2 stars rating. Dined in 9/2/2022. read more

Great restaurant!! Food and service is always great!! The private rooms off the main restaurant and bar are great for groups and privacy. Always had a great experience. All the guests in my parties all had great meals as well from steaks, seafood and fresh water fish. I had the grilled rainbow trout and rice. It was very well seasoned and delicious!! The waiter's are always prompt in their service. I definitely recommend this restaurant on so many levels from a party of 1 to as many as you like and enjoy a great experience from beginning to end!! read more

This restaurant has been one of our annual trips we take with some of our good friends . Kristin was our server she was very attentive and had a great smile and enjoyed taking care of us . We all enjoyed our meals . Only one persons food was not hot when it arrived and she immediately took care of it . The appetizers were delicious from the alligator to the yummy shrimp and garlic bread, and the crab cake was amazing also. My meal was seasoned just right and cooked nicely. No one was disappointed with there meal. I did miss the bread pudding which they no longer have but the fudge brownie dessert was good . This is my second time eating at a Pappadeaux Seafood restaurant. A few years ago I dined at a location in Illinois, and I remember enjoying the food. My family and I decided to take a road trip to Ohio, which is about 4 hours from where I live, just to do a weekend getaway. And mainly, Bc we were interested in some good seafood, and decided Pappadeaux restaurant location in Ohio was a better fit for us, than returning back to the Illinois location. The restaurant was literally right next door to the hotel we were staying at, like walking distance. So that was super convenient! We had reservation late afternoon on a Friday, and there was already a nice crowd of people in the restaurant. But we were able to get seated immediately. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. She provided suggestions for food and drink options. For appetizer, we shared the Crab and Spinach Dip. Which was good! Then I ordered the smaller order of Shrimp & Grits. And my family member ordered the Fried Seafood Platter, which included Shrimp, Oysters, Catfish Fillets, Stuffed Shrimp and Stuffed Crab. It was so much food! And so good! Two people could've shared the Fried Seafood Platter and still had food leftover! And even the smaller size portion of the Shrimp & Grits was a nice size portion to fill someone up. The two added bonuses was my drink and dessert! So delicious!. I think I ordered the Swampthing. But I can't remember. Whatever the drink was, it was so good! Very smooth! And I ordered the dessert to go, but I ordered the Vanilla Cheesecake. The slice was huge! It was so good! I definitely wish there was a Pappadeaux restaurant closer to where I lived, but I'm definitely not opposed to driving to Ohio again to visit! read more

So this is a long review. Ibwas surprised we coukd get reservations so easily. In the past we would have to book at least 2 weeks or more out. We walk in and the place was messy and hardly anyone there. 6:30pm on a Saturday night and its dead. Clue #1 that this place is crashing. Wow, this place has really slipped and has become a disappointment. Dont go... This use to be one of my favorite places to go. Now its an overpriced wanna be. The food and drinks were just as pricey as a Ruby's restaurant but not worth it. We sat over 10 minutes without even being acknowledged. We had to flag down someone to ask who our server was. No water nothing was brought to us. After our server finally showed up 15 minutes later we ordered drinks and an appetizer. It took another 15 minutes to get a beer and ice tea unbelievable, no water. We almost walked out but we were starving. They finally brought us bread. The bread was average and very messy. I've never experienced such crumbly bread. It got crust everywhere. So we had bread bits all over the table, our clothes, the floor, like a small bakery blew up at our table. Not once did they come by and wipe our table, no table covering fyi. We waited another 20 for our appetizer. I ordered a basic vodka cranberry and the drink took another 15 minutes. The drink was in a tiny glass and filled mostly with ice and cranberry, two large slices of limes that took up most of the glass that wasn't much bigger then a shot, and if there was vodka in it I couldn't tell ya. It was so bad it was comical. The meal we decided to split because we figured one meal would be faster then two and we had been sitting so long we werent much in the mood to eat there. It was another 20 for our over meal to show up and everytime something was fogetten, it would take the server forever to get it. We were never offered or asked if we wanted more drinks or bread, no water still. We had king crab with pasta and zero wipes to clean our hands. I had to walk to the ladies room with my napkin to open the door because I had king crab and butter all over them so I could wash my hands. We had to stop another server to ask for our check. Yes our server was MIA again. The food was good but not worth high end prices. We spent as much as we would at a Jeff R or any high end restaurant for crappy service. One of my favorite restaurants in Ohio and my annual birthday dinner location. However, they lost a star due to no longer offering crab legs. In substitute, I got the fried shrimp and it was amazing!! It comes with fries which I didn't need since bread is served at the table. This place is always busy especially on weekends so make sure to make a reservation. Service was a little slower last time but our order was spot on. Parking is in private lot and plenty of spaces. I'm sad to report a less than steller experience with one of my favorite restaurants. 1) someone had a heavy hand w/ the salt for the fried crawfish so it was practically inedible, but mainly 2) I ordered meals to go last night (12/9/23) for my family. As directed by the texts, I parked in a To-Go spot & shared my spot number. I recieved 2 separate texts that my food was ready. Twice I confirmed my sport #. And I waited....and waited. After waiting 16 minutes, I went inside for my food as I'd rather have it hot than cold. There was no acknowledgement by the staff for the wait, nothing. And to put this into context, I am an older person w/ mobility issues, I tipped $18 for the convenience of having my order brought to me. That was obviously a waste of money. Stopped here while in Cincinnati a few weeks back. I had wanted to go to one in TX, so when I saw this in OH, I had to go. We went at 4:40 pm and were the only people in the restaurant despite being berated that we didn't have reservations. My cousin and I each ordered different things; I a seafood platter of shrimp, clams and catfish and she a salmon platter with baked potato. My seafood platter was okay but seemed that everything was cooked in the same oil as it all had a similar flavor. The catfish was a bit over cooked. The salmon was cooked perfectly but it was swimming in a butter sauce that overpowered the fish. The baked potato was huge and impressive (make sure you ask for extra butter/sour cream). I think it was too pricey for what we got. I'll go someplace else next time. read more

Every single bite of those starters was so good!! Of course we didn't stop there. We had to indulge in entrees. Now I did gumbo and salad. Trying to be good since we ate all those starters. Ok the only thing I don't really like at Pappadeaux is their gumbo. It is not bad it's just not my families recipe so I have a bias. But my salad was off the chain. Yes. They even make salad off the chain. So of course everyone enjoyed their food. We could not eat it all so we packed it up for home and ordered dessert. Because evening if you are stuffed at Pappadeaux you still order dessert. Let's see , we got a brownie, cheesecake, key lime pie, crepe brûlée, bread pudding, and banana pudding. I've been here once before for a large office Christmas party. I was pretty excited when SO said he wanted to bring me here on a kid free night. I had The Grand Hennessy to drink--and let me tell you--IT'LL GET YOU DRUNK! For appetizer we got the alligator YUM YUM YUM. I'll tell you right now, that could have been my meal. As our entrees I had the andouille sausage & seafood gumbo. I took a couple of bites and wasn't feel well so I chalked it up to being drunk and the alligator having me full. I packed up the rest and had it the next day as leftovers--I got sick ‍ SO got the chicken tenders (he's not a seafood fan). He said it was very delicious AND the serving was heaping. The number of cars in the parking lot should have be a clear sign that this restaurant is something SPECIAL and it did not disappoint on its execution of taste and experience. Known for its southern/creole cuisines, and more of an upscale atmosphere this place is perfect for celebrating a special occasion, first date or just if you're in the mood for some excellent food. They even offer drive-up, take out ordering! Arrived around 4:30pm and were told to expect a 45 minute wait but were pleasantly surprised after they sent a text ten minutes later saying our table was ready so that was a nice surprise. As far as the food taste and quality, they hit it out of the park. I got the crawfish etouffee and I swear there had to have been at least 50 of them creole-crawlers in there. There were a handful in every spoonful and the flavor of the seasonings was perfect-not overly spicy or salty. This dish was definitely enough to share so expect to take some home even if you have a hefty appetite. I did leave some room for dessert on this occasion and went with the key lime pie. We sat for 15 minutes before our server made her way to us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Another 20 minutes and we receive our appetizer but not our drinks. Appetizer was fine but service was all over the place we had to ask for drinks three times. It took another 35 minutes to get our entree's. Food was okay nothing to write home about. I wasn't able to get a picture of my husbands dish but his was far better than mine. Bacon wrapped shrimp. We opted for dessert of course you have to get bread pudding it was delicious but again took forever to get to us. Not sure if they were having an odd evening or what. Had an amazing experience at Pappadeaux's SpringDale, OH last night. celebrated a late V-Day. I chose a bad time due to the crab fingers being out of season, but the rest of our food was amazing. I didn't care too much for the pappadeaux seafood tagliatelle pasta, so they politely insisted of taking it back and removing the item and graced me with a complimentary appetizer that I thoroughly enjoyed! Sam was our waitress she was amazing and super kind, her manager that night was also amazing and offered the appetizer and apologies for me not enjoying the prepared dish! Very accommodating!! I will definitely be dining there again... just when the crab fingers are in season because they're delicious! Thank you all for an amazing experience.
