I literally went to Pappadeaux thee next day when I recently found out Happy Hour was back. Pre-Covid HH offered a lot more at cheaper prices (obviously), but this new HH did not disappoint. Mini appetizers were offered for around $11.95. I enjoyed HH so much, man did I miss it. I've been to Pappadeaux a million and one times and can only remember one "off" time. We don't go as often as we used to years ago but man.."I still do," lol I'm still in love. My favorite dishes are as follows: any salmon dish, shrimp & crab fondeaux, fried alligator, fried oysters, stuffed crab, Mississippi catfish opelousas, classic caesar, shrimp & grits, seafood cobb salad. My mom and I were kinda hungry after a full day, so we decided to come back to this place. We had tried out the location in Phoenix awhile ago and wanted to see what this was about. After looking online, I added myself to the waitlist (via text) so that it would be a quicker checkin process upon arrival. Glad I did since it was poppin when we arrived. They have ample parking and unfortunately it started to rain, so we dined indoors. After checking in with the hostess, we were told it would be another 10-15 minute wait. We excused ourselves for the restroom and upon returning, got a notification that we were ready to be seated. We got quickly seated and the server was quick with the menus and drink options. It took a bit of time to figure out what to eat, but we settled on the Cobb Salad (split for 2 people), Mixed Grill (off the lunch menu but my mom was able to dine off there since she met the senior citizen criteria), Salmon and Thai Noodles, and all of these came with their delicious bread. We got the salads and bread somewhat quickly (although I noticed that certain sections had expedited service compared to other sections, even if they were seated later). The huge portions were what I had forgotten about. We pretty much ate our salads and half of the bread but took only a couple of bites of our entrées before boxing them to take home. The server was kind enough to give us extra (full loaf of) bread to enjoy with our food at a later time. She was nice and helpful with suggesting items on the menu. As for ambiance, it was a bit dimly lit and medium sounds--you could hear more people over the music. Overall a great experience and delicious food. I guess it's been awhile since I've dined at this restaurant because I was unprepared for the sticker shock of the menu pricing. It was worth it but I think the only thing with room for improvement would be the reservation system and also the expediency of service (so that it is quick and efficient all around as opposed to providing certain tables with preferential treatment. read more

Good food, service and ambiance at Papadeaux is as always solid. The reason for pulling a star is because the prices here while always on the high side are just out of control. A chopped salad with crawfish and an iced tea earns you a bill of about $35 before tip. Hard to justify coming here except for special occasions. And before you pile on about prices being up everywhere I'm well aware as I travel for work and eat more meals in restaurants than I do at home in a given year. I am painfully aware of price increases, it just feels like Papadeaux's are pushing the limits. read more

Wildly inaccurate pricing. I used to live in Houston, Texas and I went to Pappadeaux's all the time. I'm used to paying $25-$35 a meal at this chain. Visiting the Cincinnati location and I realize the prices are significantly higher. I contacted a friend to confirm, and I was right. Everything is roughly 25%-30% more expensive here. It's a chain. Should be comparable pricing throughout the country. If not, then don't post pricing online. This place is trash and I won't be back. read more

A quick day trip to Ohio always leads me to Pappadeaux's for some good seafood. We went for lunch and the service was great. We were so hungry that we barely took pictures. As always the alligator appetizer is a must it's always a hit for those who think they may not like it or are afraid to try it due to what it is...try it. My go to is the Seafood salad with shrimp and crab minus the bacon.This salad is big enough in my opinion for 2-3 servings. This is one of those places you should atleast try once. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in Ohio and my annual birthday dinner location. However, they lost a star due to no longer offering crab legs. In substitute, I got the fried shrimp and it was amazing!! It comes with fries which I didn't need since bread is served at the table. This place is always busy especially on weekends so make sure to make a reservation. Service was a little slower last time but our order was spot on. Parking is in private lot and plenty of spaces. We had 5:30 reservation last night. We were a few minutes early and had party of 7 which included my mom who is 84. It took 30 plus minutes to get a table the front room staff seemed clueless and without proper supervision. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because our waiter was outstanding. He was knowledgeable and gave us excellent suggestions. He knew the menu like the back of his hand. Our food was excellent everyone was very happy and he saved the day. The bad. Prices are skyrocketing! A bowl of gumbo is now $18.95. Not too long ago it was $12. Most entrees are in the mid $40 range now. My fondue was $26.00. The other bad thing is they have gotten rid of the chargrilled oysters appetizers. That WAS the best thing on the menu. And for whatever reason they no longer have their Category 5 frozen drink. The GOOD. Even though prices are out of control I must admit portions and quality are the same which is a good thing! Their lunch prices are actually still reasonable and as I am 64 I can get lunch prices all day long. Couldn't believe the huge portion size on my wife's lunch salmon entree. Nice and full after a mid week dinner at Pappadeaux! We started with the gator (had to try something new!) which was very chicken like with some chewier parts. The crab cake app was amazing (lots of lumps of meat), and I was feeling stuffed before the giant shrimps and grits even came! I really felt like I was transported to a different state/time. The atmosphere and aesthetic is spot on. My husband and I came later in the evening and luckily didn't have to wait for a table despite not having a reservation. Our server was very nice and attentive. We got the alligator bites which were divine! My husband filled up on bread before he even ordered his entree so all he got was mozzarella bites as his entree and he wasn't too impressed. First off, don't chance having to wait a long time for a table...make a reservation. Pappadeaux gets really busy because lots of people really love it & for good reason...delicious seafood! After getting seated, our server was quick to get our order and never let us go too long without checking in on us. The drinks were strong & the food was worth every penny. We went last night which was a Sunday night. Our server was excellent!! Okay Managers were walking around and they had ran out of food until Wednesday totally unacceptable. No lobster, no crap fingers, no soft shell crabs, basically only shrimp. We drove three hours to find out half of the menu has changed or out of it. Come on who's ordering the food. My dirty martini wasn't dirty at all. The server excellent management while your walking around go in the back and order food. The restaurant was clean and nice. I felt bad having to leave this negative review but after reading the other 1 star reviews I'd say my experience is a common occurrence. There seemed to be a lot of different servers but the service was so slow. They continued to try to serve meals to the wrong tables. I saw 4 in the time we were there. Once our meals arrived there were multiple parts that were cold and something was missing but the server never came back to check on us. When she did we told her about the missing item which she said she would get but it never came. We proceeded to eat but ran out of drinks. Every drink on our table was empty and we just sat there trying to get her attention. She disappeared for long periods of time. When she finally addressed us she asked if we needed boxes so we replied that we just needed drinks and the missing item we still didn't get. She left our bill and never came back. We ended up leaving cash so we could leave. Super bad service. The restaurant looks cool from the outside and it is nice on the inside. It seemed clean. My grilled food was good (the warm part) but the fried food wasn't great. Especially the cold parts. I don't plan to return. Even the hostess station was a disorganized mess. If the service was good the price would be reasonable but with bad service the price of the meal was way too high. read more

Downtown Houston for a late lunch. I was eating light and walked to this location from my hotel. The menu is very abbreviated from what I am use to when I visit the locations in Atlanta. As they did not have any of the items that I normally order, I went with an old favorite, the shrimp and crawfish fondue. It was very good as always. The staff was outstanding. We have eaten here several times over the last several years. It has always been very good. Yesterday though, the Pasta Mardis Gras and the Atlantic Salmon Alexander were superb. This review will be based upon multiple visits. We arrived on a Friday night around 7 and were told that there was a 35 min wait, but we didn't even wait 5 min. Our group of 4 was taken care of flawlessly because The Service was impeccable. The food is expensive, but the large portion sizes make-up for the high prices. We ordered 2 Appetizers for the table. (large portions) mac-N-cheese and cheesy lobster fondue. Entrees: Sea Bass, red snapper, catfish Dessert: chocolate cake, pecan pie Although each one of our dishes left us wanting more, we were entirely too stuffed to eat anything else. Obviously you're going to read this review and think it's a good place to eat. Duh, it's nice and your girl thinks it's the spot. You start with the appetizer and you are blown away by the flavor, then the main comes out and it's surprisingly large. Every single item including the butter is made fresh at this restaurant. The seafood is delicious. The Caesar salad was one of the best we've had. Dessert was a sweet potato pecan pie with ice cream. I recently visited Cincinnati for the music festival from Los Angeles and Pappadeaux was on my list to have dinner. I lived in Atlanta Georgia for 8 years so I have experienced the excellent food. This Particular Cincinnati location had the most amazing service in addition to great food. I had the pleasure of being assisted by HOSTESS Aaliyah whom set us at our table. She was more than a hostess, she also assisted the busboy and clinging up the table, making sure we were good and overall was the best Hostess. We had the best server named Hannah J, who greeted us with the biggest smile and made sure to take care of us and give us best service. Ive visited several restaurants this weekend, but by far this was the best service from Hannah J and Aaliyah, and the most amazing food I've had in Cincinnati. Thank you to the city of Cincinnati for making sure a Pappadeaux's location is in here for all the visitors around the world. You guys are very. Again I'm from NOLA. This isn't Nola at all. It's a tourists trap . Pappadueax doesn't even have a restaurant in NOLA. However I will give you my take. First it's over priced. Very over priced. Nothing says NOLA more then blood sausage or others call it boudin . 14.95 lol. In Nola it's $5. The rice was cooked perfect however the blood sausage was dry but had good flavor and a nice little kick to it. Shrimp and grits. Missed on Nola style. The spinach had good flavor and so did the grits. However it's not Nola style. Next you can't get wild gulf shrimp to taste fresh in Ohio. Service was great place is a little loud but manageable. It's not a romantic dinner setting. Again very overpriced. Very!. In closing is this a place I would take a friend from out of town? No. Why? Overpriced. I found this location by accident while looking for Jungle Jim's. There isn't a pappadeaux in MI so I'm always excited to visit. I sat at the bar and it took about 5 mins for the bartenders to acknowledge me but I could tell they were pretty swamped. Once they came over both were very friendly and personable. I ordered the Redfish Pontchatrain with a side of broccolini. The fish is pan seared and topped with crab meat & shrimp. It comes with dirty rice as the side. Everything was delicious. I honestly don't know what red fish is because it's not snapper but I need to find out. It was all cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. We have been huge fans of the Pappadeaux's chain for years and have also been to the restaurant in Beaumont TX. As always, the food and service are top notch excellent. However, as the economy has changed we have reduced our visits to Pappadeaux's and after the bill on this last visit it will probably be the last. Since the opening of the restaurant just a few years ago, the price for all menu items has doubled and some items tripled. Also, some items have been changed to a lower quality, particularly the dinner bread. It used to be great but tastes like Walmart now. Frozen drink prices have skyrocketed! I grew up in Louisiana and I love the Cajun dishes but at their current price level we cannot afford to go anymore. :( read more

In my experience, this place has been all over the map, and I've ordered the same meal every time I've eaten here; I order the Pasta Mardi Gras. I first ate at this location in December 2019, and it was a really fantastic meal. It was so good, my wife and I made the decision to eat here every time we come down to Cincinnati from Columbus. I honestly forget to review the restaurant the first time I ate here when we had a great experience, life happened, and then I got lazy. We ate here again not too long after our great experience and the second one was bad all around. The food was off, the service was terrible, and I didn't review the restaurant after that meal because it was such a stark contrast in experiences that I thought maybe it was a fluke. We went back for a third time, shortly after the restaurant reopened from COVID, and the food was much closer to our first experience. However, the service was AWFUL! Aside from being slow, our orders were messed up, our appetizer was completely forgotten about, and the only thing the waiter did well and fast was bring us the check. Eating here today, there is no other way to describe my meal other than disappointing and overcooked. The shrimp was tough, the andouille sausage was like eating beef jerky, the noodles were over cooked and the meal left a lot to be desired. We ordered a medium calamari appetizer, a sampler platter plus my meal, and the bill came out to $100 with zero alcoholic beverages for two adults and a child. So I can honestly give the food itself 4 stars. I've been here many, many times and everything I've had has been rich and flavorful (and a couple times bordered on overseasoned). This latest time I tried the crawfish meal with crawfish etouffe, fried crawfish and dirty rice. The dirty rice is amazing. I have also never had a smooth service here. Whether it's flagging down the server for something missed and or needed and taking excessively long...to ordering curbside pickup and having to retrieve the order myself or waiting 30 minutes from quoted arrival time until receiving my order. read more

Had lunch there today. It was outstanding! My Brother in law and I each had The Crawfish Etouffee Trio and it was unbelievably good. Large quantity of food and three types of Crawfish.
