I asked the owner if she would give me half our money back and we would look elsewhere. but she said NO that it stated on the receipt no refunds. the next morning woke up to a bug crawling out of bathroom sink as I was brushing my teeth, that was it we were out. luckily we were invited to stay with family and we're able to enjoy our vacation. PLEASE don't waste your time staying in this run down motel!!

We could relax on the beach or cottage while our child could have the freedom to play games and explore in this family friendly environment. Cottages have many recent updates too. We were there with a group, and this was the perfect set up, since each family could enjoy the privacy of their own cottage, yet enjoy time together in the many common area, ie- the beach and the bonfires.

The new owners are working hard to make improvements and provide proper maintenance, while keeping the 50's era charm of the cottages. The beach is clean and well groomed, and the cottages are furnished well. A nearby restaurant, The Red Fork, serves great food, and the Cedar Lake store, though small, is well stocked.

The room views are very nice, but the issue was the bathroom isn't enclosed, which makes it seem like there's a toilet in your bedroom. I never wanted to be that intimate with my wife. The other issue is the floors are wood and you can hear the noise throughout the Inn. The owner lives on site and makes a habit of intruding into the common areas. There's a strict 11 PM curfew that makes it feel like your 15 and living with your parents. There are lots of other places you can stay, I recommend finding one of them.

It's right on the highway. We booked for two nights (two people). I was called away on an emergency. Even chased down the maid before I left. I know the cancellation policy but it would have been classier if, given that the owner lives in a million dollar home, would have issued me a small refund. I live just up the road and that's not very neighborly. Maybe that's why most of the units were empty. Yelp reviews aren't' always reliable. I got burned.
