We just stayed for the first time this month (June 2023). It was a beautiful getaway on the banks of Lake Huron. We could relax on the beach or cottage while our child could have the freedom to play games and explore in this family friendly environment. Cottages have many recent updates too. We were there with a group, and this was the perfect set up, since each family could enjoy the privacy of their own cottage, yet enjoy time together in the many common area, ie- the beach and the bonfires. read more

My wife and I celebrated our thirtieth anniversary at this resort. Our stay was wonderful and memorable, and the only thing we would change would be to have a longer stay. The new owners are working hard to make improvements and provide proper maintenance, while keeping the 50's era charm of the cottages. The beach is clean and well groomed, and the cottages are furnished well. A nearby restaurant, The Red Fork, serves great food, and the Cedar Lake store, though small, is well stocked. read more

We stayed for 1 night. They are old cabins. But very nice. Perfect place for a family reunion or just a weekend get away. With a very clean private beach, it's like a little piece of heaven. Quiet and VERY relaxing. I would recommend this to anyone who is seeking a quiet private fun weekend!!! We stumbled upon this resort. Glad we did. Will definitely try this one again. First let me say that I understand that Blue Haven was just bought by 4 families and I also understand that on their website it says that they are going to remodel. Well I think it was a HUGE mistake not to do so before renting these cottages out this season. I can't believe that anyone from these 4 families involved in this purchase would agree that these cottages were rentable just the way they are!!! Hanging a tv, putting fancy locks on the door and slapping a crappy coat of paint on the walls does not qualify as a remodel. I brought my 16 month old to this place and I didnt even want to let her step on the dirty stained carpet. Anytime she touched anything or dropped anything I'd cringe. The place was dirty, food was stuck all over the stove, the dishes and utensils were old , stained and mismatched. The metal cabinets in the kitchen are rusted and gross. The bathroom was terrible. We were missing half of our toilet paper holder and the shower, sink and toilet are all stained orange. When I pulled the unfolded sheets out of the closet for the futon sand fell out of them so I'm assuming those weren't washed. This place is also NOT family friendly. Electrical wires were exposed, I found loose nails laying around the cottage randomly, kids have easy access to the stove knobs, no tub in the bathroom and only enough water pressure for a cold sprinkle to reach my 30 inch tall child in the shower. The only thing worth being here for is the beach. So if you decide to take the chance and waste your money staying here you better make sure the weather is beautiful so that you can spend majority of your time at the beach! Unfortunately for us our first day was rainy so we were stuck in our stinky "rustic" cottage. Also, we knew 5 other families staying here when we did and they're cottages were the same or worse. One of them had to switch cottages because there toilet and shower weren't working. They arrived before us and informed us that the people who came to clean spent about 10 minutes in our cottage. We will never stay here again. Not even if they did a high end remodel on each cottage. Total rip off. There are plenty of other beautiful cottages available on Lake Huron if you book in advance. Spend your money with those places. At least they care about the families renting from them. Pretty sad because this place has so much potential. read more

The owners were so friendly and welcoming. We were able to reserve the last cabin available. When we arrived at around 10pm they brought us extras towels and pillows right away. Even dropped off coffee and water bottles! They keep the cabins immaculate. The bathroom looks as though it has been recently updated. The owner even brought over new beach toys for my kids to play with. This place is a really great spot for families who need a bit of space for the adults and kids. They have a very nice beach with plenty of lawn chairs. Gorgeous view of Lake Huron. Will definitely be back! read more

Good luck trying to reach a person to make a reservation. I called for six months straight trying to make a reservation for the end of July. I left numerous messages asking for a return call and never received a call back. Finally had a family member that lives near there make our reservations for us. Our group was renting 6-8 cabins. One week before we were due to go on our weekend, the owner cancelled all the reservations because, since the reservations were made, she changed her policy to a minimum 3 night stay. She is very unprofessional, inconsiderate and rude. Do yourself a favor and find a different place. read more

I would think twice before renting a cabin at this place. The owner doesn't return phone calls or even answer calls for that matter. She canceled our reservation 1 week before our trip due to a "policy change". She noted we needed one more night to stay there, when I reserved last year that wasnt the case. I now have nowhere to stay with a weeks notice and the week taken off work as well as my family. Everywhere up there is booked solid. She doesnt know how to run a proper business and shouldn't be running a business at all. Thanks for ruining my vacation. I will never rent a place there again! read more

Most of my childhood was spent at this resort if you look at it you would think it looks pretty cheap as in cheaply built but the beach is amazing its in a great location the harrisville harbor is right down the road and there are a lot of fun and interesting stores in greenbush/harrisville if you want more details go to bluehavenresort.com for rates and pictures its great i probably didnt give it much justice by my poor literary writing skills read more
