A close up of the infection.
    Tracy T.

RIPPED OFF AND UPSET at the unknown conditions my dogs stayed in. I paid $316.60 to board Phoenix and Harlow from Tues, June 9th @ 8 am - Sunday, June 14th @ 530 pm with a bath before they came home. They both came home with a rash on their bellies. A visit to our vet (Wesley Taylor D.V.M. @ Highlands-El Dorado Veterinary Hospital) and the diagnosis was staph infection. I now have paid an additional $343.38 to treat the staph infection. They are on 18 days of antibiotics, 10 days of steroids each and have to be bathed 2xs a week in a medicated shampoo. My veterinarian, said for such a quick onset they would've had to stay in a kennel that was infected or wasn't cleaned well. The fact that my dogs stayed 5 nights in possible squalor, itching pisses me off. My dogs are pitbulls, they don't whine they just suffer stoically - until someone gives a damn. And these dogs live in an immaculate home, courtesy of an OCD-military boyfriend. My dogs are now crated from 745 am to 545pm - while we're at work, because the medications flush out their system, making them more thirsty and have to urinate more often. I came home today and let them out of the crate. Phoenix couldn't hold her bladder and she peed by the door. Her head hung low, eyes apologizing. 5 nights at this place. My dogs came back with an infection. I'm out $660. And you're effin with my dog's self-esteem and upsetting our normal routine. I wish I had never brought my dogs to this place - it's cost me more money and been a complete inconvenience, to have had my dogs stay in unclean conditions. Honestly, I wish I could have dropped more cuss words in this review than I have.

Mitchell is so excited about getting to spend a few days at Pappys Pet Lodge, Spa and Resort Casino.

My dog Mitchell look forward to coming to Pappy's Pet Lodge.Don't let the word lodge fool you. This brand new state-of-the-art facility is like the Mandarin Oriental for your dog. sparkling clean with every surface white down with disinfectant every 15 minutes. Unobtrusively of course. You do not just drop your loved one off....they ask for every special need at mealtimes and snacks. Epic five star service including video cams so you can watch your high end small breed Pom on your Las Vegas vacation. This safety and comfort.... $24 for a large pet suite. I recommend Pappy's Pet Lodge and Resort to everyone with a pet.

Here is how we got our cat back

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !!! Too bad we can't give 0 star.... We let our 2 cats at this PappyPetLodge location, from March 8th to March 13th. During our stay out of town, I sent an email to get some news and never received any answer. We went to pick them up on Sunday March 13th in the morning. The lady gave us back the box with our 2 cats inside, saying everything had been fine, and gave us that pretty little card full of smiley faces and flowers indicating that our 2 cats had spent a great stay. Til there, everything seemed to be fine and normal. When we arrived at our house, and opened the box, we found that one of our 2 cats had all her hair totally sticky, on all the back of her body, as if she had painting on it or something, and that poor cat seemed so unhappy with her condition ! My husband spent about 2 hours trying to remove what was stuck in her hair without any result. I went back to the PappyPetLodge location, and the lady, with a big smile (and while she had told us to our face that everything had gone just perfectly fine !!!), told me : "Oh yes, we just put scented wax in the cats'playroom, and this is it !" .... Really ??? Who puts some liquid wax, with some cats who, like everybody knows, climb everywhere !! It ended that, of course, they reimbursed me the cost of the stay, and they sent me, after I insisted all day long on the phone, to their Addison location to see a cat groomer. Result : My cat, who was perfect and beautiful before they have her, has now all the back of her body totally shaved. Thank you PappyPetLodge, I will NEVER EVER give you any of my pet to take care of, you are totally irresponsible lying persons, and I will tell all the people I know to stay away from you. Of course, I never received any phone call from a manager, only to apologize.

5 for 5. First of all, Stephanie is GREAT!!! I recently moved to the area and was looking for a day care place to take my pitbull who is very friendly. This place has exceeded all expectations. I can honestly say the dogs here get their FULL amount of playtime!! The staff are very friendly and knowledgable, I know my pup is in good hands while I'm at work. I love getting report cards and updates because as any dog lover knows, their pet is like their child! 5 stars+!!

Mystie's famous "butt cut." Look at that precision.. And cute booty! LOL.

He was only six months old when We decided on the Collared Scholar 2week Program by Meagan Karnes, and we're so happy we did. He had a few basics roughly down but his focus was in need some sharpening. Upon returning home 2weeks later. - His basics had been improved upon immensely. - He gained understanding of new command(s). - And his focus was sharper. - His social skills had been improved upon, from positive interaction w/other dogs. (This was great seeing as he's an only child & we will be taking him to dog parks). After being exceedingly satisfied with the results, we are confident that we have found our trusted instructor for our future k9 training & guidance needs.

I read Breyers' testimonials on Yelp and on Google, and I thought to myself, "This is too good to be true..." After working with Breyers, Bubba is calm on walks, walks directly next to me with no redirection, and has become a perfect gentleman at the vet! To say I was shocked with the results is an understatement. Breyers truly puts in the work, and helps you better understand your dog and their capabilities. He gave me the confidence to trust in Bubba again, and gave Bubba the skills to be the best dog he can be. I cannot rave about the results I've seen in him enough! The best part is, the longer we train and the more we work together on his skills, the better he gets! He was off leash in my front yard not too long ago, and came to me to get put on a leash with ease. If I could leave you with one bit of advice, it would be this: trust the process. Breyers is a professional with a successful training model, and it truly works if you have faith and are willing to put in the work. Bubba loves Breyers! Thank you for an excellent service, and for giving my dog back to me! You can teach an old dog new tricks!!

We sent our dog JULY  for their four weeks program and had a wonderful experience with the dog training program. When I attended the initial consultation, I was amazed by how large, clean, and over-the-top the facility was. The talk lasted 30 minutes, and we spoke for almost one 1hour. They were patient, and we explained all our goals, which we wanted our July to be trained on. Tyler worked with July. We received daily "Pupdates" and report cards that included videos, photos, and an overall update on his improvement. I could tell Tyler cared about July as if he was his doggie. We are so proud and thrilled about the progress July has made. TRULY AMAZING! July's confidence built up, and his personality came through by the end of the 4-week board and train program. After reading rave reviews of a certain type of dog shampoo, I ordered a bottle online for store…read morepickup. My order was placed at about 1:14 pm on Tues. Jan. 13, and I received a confirmation "We have received your order" showing 1:16 p.m. I saw nothing indicating a window of time for order processing, just the note "You'll receive an email when your order is ready to pick up." After waiting 1-1/2 hours and hearing nothing, I called the store at 2:45 p.m. and asked what the holdup was. The person who answered told me that they allow a two-hour window for processing online orders. She looked at the records and told me she saw the order, would fill it, and email me when it was ready. After waiting nearly 30 more minutes with no email notification, I drove to the store. The nice young lady at the front counter found the order and handed it to me. When I asked her if it was standard practice to take that long to fill an online order for a single item, she said it was not and she couldn't explain it. After I left the store and checked my email again, I found an email telling me the order was ready. Although it indicated a sent time of 2:51 p.m., it did not show up in my in box until after 3:00 p.m., about the time I got to the store. When I got to the store, there was only one other car there, and that customer left the store just as I arrived. I say that to indicate that they were certainly not busy. So I am at a loss to explain why it would take nearly two hours to fill an order for a single bottle of shampoo -- and that happened only after I called.

We have been here twice because they always have availability, and sometimes you can get an appointment on the same day of service! Perhaps there is a reason no one is going here, but when your dog stinks, your high expectations will fly out the window just to restore order to your senses. I recommend booking the first appointment of the day. If you wait until later, you will see your dog travel through a room full of hair clippings. It's quite disgusting. They really should spend some time cleaning up between clients, putting a screen up so customers don't see the mess, and have a tidy path for dogs who have completed their service to be able to travel to the desk without collecting the fur on the floor around them. Yuck! I have a large dog that sheds quite a bit. Usually I do a de-shed or furminator type service at the groomer twice a year at a different groomer and that generally cuts down on the puffs around my house. Unfortunately, the Petco service doesn't seem to be effective at all. I brought my dog home yesterday and puffs of fur were still plucking off of him when I pet him. Had they actually done the service correctly, this would not be happening. I brushed him and was able to pull enough hair off of him to create another "dog". He was also supposed to get trimmed, but he still had grinch feet that I will have to tidy up myself. My appointment was at 9:00 am, and they called to let me know he was ready for pickup at 10:40 am. It only took an hour and a half to wash, dry, brush, and trim him? This is a dog with a double coat of long hair. I don't think so! It seems to me they are skimping on services and it shows in the results. Two other things that I would like for Petco to improve are the payment and tipping process. When booking the appointment online, I'm asked to input my credit card information. However, when picking up my dog, I'm given an invoice and told to go to the front counter of the retail store to pay. I have take out my credit card and swipe it, which begs the question, "Why did I have to input my credit card when booking the appointment online?" I'm asked if I want to pay a tip. Mind you, I haven't seen my dog yet. I have no idea how he looks or if the groomer has done a decent job. Tips used to be given for exceptional service, but now they seem to be expected whether services were delivered or not. My dog seemed happy when he was returned to me. Also, he didn't seem too traumatized when we arrived for the appointment even though he had been bathed here before. That leads me to believe that the staff are kind and gentle with him. Will I come back? Probably. However, I may not get the furminator or haircut because why pay for services when they aren't being delivered as promised? The first groomer I had did a much better job. Perhaps the real trick is to book a specific groomer that will provide the level of service for which I paid.
