Scheduled us for 12-4 window, we called at around 1:30 to check on estimated arrival. They told us that they would arrive more by 4pm. We've been waiting for them all afternoon and it wasn't until 435pm that they call just to say "tech is running behind, we don't know how long it's going to take". We cancelled and we're not recommending them anymore. If you know you won't be able to make the appointment window, be respectful of customer's time and call beforehand. read more

Paradise Air has joined up with Performance air. Performance Air is dishonest, disrespectful, and pushy. They over charged for a thermostat- by a few hundred dollars! When they were only Paradise air owed by Tim, they were pretty honest. Not now! They should be reported to the Better Business Bureau for their unethical practices. they don't even deserve one star and the answer the phone for pharmacy air and then you say oh what about Paradise and she says oh I forgot it is Paradise. I called these guys in the afternoon around 2pm. I was able to get them to come that night. It was around 8pm when he came so I knew he must have to extended himself just to accommodate my short schedule. He was very friendly and professional. He wore booties and laid down a blanket to prevent dirtying my floor. He answered all my questions in a very carefully and patiently. He was overall very nice and professional. I paid for preventative maintenance In advance. Company has canceled two appointments already for no good reason. They want to make a third appointment 4 weeks from now. I purchased a new A/C and air handler. Thought it was great, until it was not. Service is what you want when you have a problem. Their own service man Joe said I had a bad install. The owner Dan was more concerned about making an additional $6,100 instead of honoring my warranty. One person in the office is so RUDE, she said we can't keep sending out our guys for free. Let me start by saying, I did not go with Paradise Air for one simple reason, they do not offer 0% financing, like Trane does for its unit. So I went with another company that offers Trane units. I have to say Paradise Air was very nice and trustworthy. They seem like an honest bunch of people and they came out right away to provide a quote and look over my old unit. American Standard is made right along with Trane in the same factory in Texas, but they are two separate companies. Paradise offered a fair quote, but most people do not have several thousands dollars to sink into a new unit. Maybe in 20 years, when my Trane is outdated, I will give Paradise a call. read more

We have owned over 9 personal residences, and several investment properties. Our 'go to' AC guy retired. So we needed to find someone new. We retired from doing investments, moved into a condo, and witnessed some very bad AC installs / repairs / services by different contractors. A client of ours used Paradise Air for a new install, and had nothing but good things to say.. so we took a chance. We called... we need a new AC install. Our experience... The exceeded our expectations!! Professional, clean, friendly, never a problem answering my husbands questions (and he has many) or discussing what they are doing and why. After the install, a part on the condenser went bad (not their fault), and they were out immediately to fix it. The office and sales manager made sure that it was fixed and we were happy. These guys are great! My A/C went out on a Sunday afternoon. I called hoping to have a tech come take a look at the unit the following day (Monday) but was surprised to hear they could come out same day...even on a Sunday! Unfortunately, the unit required replacing (it was old and long past its service life). The installation options were again surprising: next day service and very competitive pricing. So we got a few quotes for a new ac. Ours was working but old, it is winter so we thought it would be a good time for it. We went with Paradise as they gave us a great quote for a great unit. We ended up with a 3 ton, two stage, 17 seer American Standard. Everything went fantastic. They came when they said, it rained and took them a long time for install. They hung in there and made sure everything was done correctly. They guys were very nice and professional. We had our inspection from Pinellas Co today and he said everything looked great!! Paradise Air is installing 90% of the pancake AC units at Regatta Beach Club condo in Clearwater Beach and charge ~$6K per install. The pancake unit retails for about ~1K, so $5K go towards Paradise Air labor and PROFIT. I wouldn't mind the price, but they are improperly installing these units and not properly insulate them. The units cool the ceiling, which is the floor of the unit above. Cooled floor is causing water condensation in the condo above, making the floor slippery. When called back to fix the problem, the owner of the company Tim couldn't fix the problem. All it takes is to place a sheet of insulation above the pancake unit. In my friend's unit they mixed the in and out water lines. I would stay away from this company because they don't do quality work and overcharge their customers. read more

So, I had a problem with my Air Conditioner and call Paradise Air who installed the fan outdoor unit. The individual came and told me that it was my Dual Capacitor and that he had the part in his truck. He repaired the part and told me that it was covered under the warranty from the manufacture. I paid $149.00 for the service and repair. So I received a call from a representative at Paradise Air who told me that the part he put in was the wrong capacitor and that he would have to come back and put in the new one from the manufacture, but I would have to pay another $175.00 that included the part, repair and for the shipping cost of the part and for the person to pick it up. But he told me that if he had the right part in his truck that I would have to pay the $149.00 and the $175.00, because the $149.00 was just to come to the location. What a ripoff. First of all the guy who came in to repair the problem never told me that the size of the part was not the right size or that it was temporary. He also told me that the part was under warrant, which I come to find out that it only had partial warrant. When I spoke to the representative he tells me because it was a business the new part would not be covered. I would never use this company and I would be very careful and make sure you get all of your information before they do any work. I am out $210.00 and now I have to call another company to fix their mess. read more

The office staff told me to check certain things beforehand, in the event it was a simple problem, but I wanted a tech to check the system out anyway. Less than an hour later, a friendly tech arrived, diagnosed the problem, and got it working again for a price I considered reasonable for time, effort, knowledge, and attitude. This company is total rip off!! I had seen them in complex as company others used. Called them for a service for just low performance of air conditioner during high heat and humidity time. Paid for the service call that recommended new unit or fix to old for $904 which they said they didn't really recommend. Did not sound right. I found new company on Yelp and they recharged quickly and I was cold immediately. People beware. Air conditioners have warranty of 10 years usually but can often last much longer. These kind of companies want to fill our landfills with old units and prey on elderly to try to sell new when not needed! Do not recommend them! read more

Everything was excellent from start to finish. My AC just died late in the afternoon. Fortunately it was April and not June here in FL. The air handler was running, but the compressor fan was not. I asked my neighbor (a home inspector) for a recommendation and he gave me Tim O'Connell's name from Paradise Air Inc. and I'm glad he did! Since it was after hours, I left a message with their answering service (I didn't ask for an emergency call, as I figured I could make it through the night). Tim called me first thing in the morning. After explaining the unit died, but that it was old and I had no interest in repairing it and wanted to replace it instead, Tim said he'd have his estimator, John, call me back shortly to schedule a visit later that day. Within a few minutes of hanging up with Tim, John was calling and said he could come out between 11 am and 1 pm if that was okay - he was there by around 10am! He checked everything and took photos of the job and gave me quotes for a couple of options. John was very thorough in explaining the pros and cons of each option and answering all my questions. He was honest and forthright, which is always appreciated. After making my choice, he scheduled the replacement for the very next day(!) and told me the crew would be there around 8:30 the next morning. No waiting a week or more! The crew showed up exactly on time and were a group of three friendly, respectful, knowledgeable, experienced, professional, and hard-working individuals. They explained everything in detail, prepped the area, and got to work. I work from home and there was little to no noise and no unnecessary interruptions. When I finally went to check on their progress - they were already finishing up ahead of schedule - and my garage and outside AC area looked cleaner than before they started! I can't say enough good things about the removal and installation team! After they explained everything, gave me all the paperwork, and left with my thanks, Tim the owner showed up to check on the job personally. All in all, I can honestly say that I have NEVER had such a terrific experience with ANY air conditioning company in 30 years of home ownership. No strong-arm upselling, no haughty attitudes, and no BS - just honest advice and honest work. I called this company after getting a referral from a friend. My air had went out the night before and i was miserable, so i was praying for a same day service call but not expecting it. when i called tim answered and was very nice, took my name and address and nature of the problem and even though i had to do dialysis most of the day he came out the same day after 4:30pm! he was very nice and professional. checked the unit, found the problem, showed me the burnt up part and wiring and even told me the cost before the fix. my unit also needed freon. now i am chillin!!!! thanks mr.tim. its nice to find someone you can trust to do great work these days. read more
