Staff was definitely gruff but the chicken and goat biryani platters were fantastic at lunch on a quiet Thursday, $13 for chix and $15 for goat includes fresh hot naan, a generous bowl of rice & meat, a second generous bowl of chicken in creamy masala gravy plus a golub jamun (fried donut hole) for dessert. A feast! Spicy? I disagree, our servers didn't ask for our desired heat level, the biryanis arrived mild-medium, the meats had been dry-rubbed with something fairly warm, but the masala gravy had no power, just yuummy. Service? The two bros running the place wasted no words on chit-chat, just took our orders and brought the food efficiently, we waited about 20 minutes. So I have to agree with other yelpers that service is not exactly friendly here. Veggies? 4 star vegetarian rating for the veggie biryani and so, so many other options, if you like desi food you'll be happy here. Tip? Mandatory 18% gratuity on our table of 5, that seemed reasonable cos we usually give 20 :) Buffet? Not here, nope. Parking? We were driving to a place and I found this restaurant on the way I went there saw on those ambience was not that great for us to sit and have a dinner so I ordered one chicken biryani and one house chicken fry. I told them the Biryani we want is medium. We picked up the food and got home when we started eating Biryani. It was extremely spicy. Her mouth was on fire. We did not enjoy a lot of it with threw away everything and that fried chicken that they gave us was very salty. I hope they improve their service. read more

Had takeout from here last night so I can't comment on the service. We ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan, samosas, and chicken biryani. My takeout experience was good. Ordered through doordash and my order was ready to pickup within 15 minutes. Since I wasn't expecting the food to be ready that quickly, I was a bit late picking up but the food was still hot. Butter chicken wasn't the best but was tolerable. It had a weird almost-green color to it rather than the typical orange/yellow. The portion size was good though for $17. The garlic naan was probably my favorite of our order. Super garlicky, well cooked--exactly what you'd expect and want when you order it. The samosas came with 2 per order. They were very salty. The filling was alright but I think it was the outside that was super salty. The sauces that it came with were okay but I couldn't finish the whole order due to how salty it was. Finally, the chicken biryani tasted good but was VERY spicy to the point that we couldn't finish the order. If you have a high spice tolerance (and I mean higher than the average person because I thought I could handle spice), then this would be good. From seeing the reviews of this restaurant, it feels like it's true that most people try to leave reviews for sure when something not-so good happens, and forget about it when everything is good. we've been regulars of this restaurant for 12 years. Food has always been amazing, and service has been exceptional. The servers in the restaurant always welcome us and give us a little extra dessert because we come here so often. I really hope this restaurant, like so many others, doesn't get shut down. I agree with a lot of the other reviewers here. Food is great. Service sucks. Never is the food ready when promised. You'll be twiddling your thumbs on the well-worn couch in the shop for a guaranteed 10-15 minutes each time you order takeout. I started ordering via Doordash, which bumped the price up a good $20 each time... I have rated this 1 star because the food is okay, (I have had better food) but the service is HORRIBLE. I called in for my take out order and told Sunil (I believe that is his name - server/customer service guy) who has dark complexion, looks South Indian, and semi beard with mustache, kind of young looking and who is the only one there at any time you go in. On top of that he has terrible English so you will always know its him. This server/customer service guy is the worse. He doesn't know how to talk to customers. I gave him my order and asked for the total and he asked if I was Indian. I don't how that is relevant in asking the total of the order. I asked every time I get take out to any place because if I have to pay cash I can gather up the proper amount. Most people would agree on this. So, I went in to pick up my food and told him what a terrible customer service I have received from him. I told him that he doesn't know how to talk to customers and how is it relevant if I'm Indian or not. He told me that he was not talking to me he was talking to one of his friends which is ridiculous since we were only ones of the phone. He got caught lying and made some bullshit up in his broken English. Instead of apologizing to me he told me that I misunderstood and I should let it go. He had some nerve to tell me that. Have had food from other locations in the past, so glad to see they opened up in Bridgewater. It's always good to have a choice of indian restaurants close to home. Went there a couple of weeks ago to pick up some chicken biryani (spicy chicken and rice dish). It's one of their staple/classic dishes, and it didn't disappoint. We also did a taste taste of the chicken malai kebab from here, and from Hurry Chutney... I have to say that i preferred the kebab from hurry chutney better... but that is more of a north indian dish, and i know i should stick to the Biryani from here. I have to also add that the restaurant was very clean, and for a quick takeaway, it was simple yet nicely decorated (cafe look). Try them out, and go with their staple dishes! read more

The past weekend, visited this new addition of Paradise Biriyani. We have ordered Chilli Chicken, Goat and Chicken Biriyanis. The Biriyanis are truly scrumptious. We came in by late afternoon and the food was quite fresh! I have been to 3 other Paradises(Jersey city, Parsippany & Edison) and by far only the Edison place serves biriyani that's as good! Now the Chilli Chicken, boy was it hot! Absolutely loved the heat! Best I had in quite some time. Even though the food is at par, I would go back to this place Vs the Edison for 2 reasons: - The Ambiance - Service This place is very nice looking (more restaurant-y feel than any other Paradise places I have been to) and you can actually have a private conversation unlike the one in Edison where you are literally cramped up. And the people were quite courteous, although there wasn't much of a crowd as it was late in the noon. But still, how a business treats their customers speaks volumes about their ethics. The last time I was at Paradise Edison, we decided to order less food and order again if necessary, the second time we called for the waiter, he gave us a look - "Like that was going to be enough for you people!" Yikes! Hated the place but still went back because they have the best biriyani amongst the others but now I'm glad I have an alternative. Hope these guys will be consistent and not take customers for granted once the business booms. If you are a biriyani lover and expect more than just good food, this is the place for you! read more

There once was an Indian/Pakistani restaurant in SL,UT (that's Salt Lake City, UT for the uninitiated) named Ali Baba, that served Indian food of this calibre. Sadly, my absolutely most favorite restaurant in the world closed not long after changing owners. Fortuitously I have the opportunity to spend time regularly within driving distance of Paradise Biryani, fore, I believe the spirit of Ali Baba has landed and blessed this desert oasis with his good graces. The Goat Biryani is my favorite prepared spicy it will make your mouth tingle with a thousand thrills. I've had the the Goat Korma as well and this dish too will warm your soul on a rainy Raritan afternoon. As with Ali Baba's fold tale home you should know that when the locals fill the place in droves you've made the right choice for dinner. read more

The chicken biryani was pretty good. Chicken seekh kebab and ginger chicken were decent. The food was spicy, we ordered medium and it was pretty hot. This place is located in raritan strip mall, which kind of looks shabby but the restaurant has nice ambiance. There was only one guy waiting the tables but I guess they have more take out orders than dine ins. We will try this place again. read more

Definitely one of the best Biryani I had in NJ. The rice is flavorful with right blend of spices and very juicy pieces of meat (chicken or goat). The salan (curry) they serve with biryani is a great addition. My guess that it is the curry of the chicken or goat that is added to the biryani. If you are here try the Dum Biryani rather than the normal ones. However, the surprise was definitely the Gongura Chicken. OMG. It had the punch of andhra spices, curry leaves, and chillies. Now, I have not had the real one in Andhra to compare it but this one served here is really good. My suggestion would be to have this chicken with Butter Naan or Kulcha. But that is just my preference. This is definitely a must try. Double ka meeta, desert was disappointing. The same has not been soaked in kheer for long enough and bread inside was dry. May be Qubani ka meeta will be a better choice. Need to try it next time. read more

Ok...so I am super critical of Indian food given we cook it at home and I work in India frequently. I usually do not like Indian restaurants. Paradise Biryani is excellent and authentic. The Chilli Chicken is just like sitting at The Park in Vizag by the ocean and having wonderful snacks at the shack. I had goat Biryani (Medium) and it was perfectly spiced. So apparently there's a néw chef I was told by the receptionist. We ordered Chicken 65 - burned tasteless no spice and no masalas at all. I went back to return it they made another one and it wasn't any better . Fish Apollo also burned smelled horrible and had no flavor or spice at all. Excellent food with an authentic Indian taste. Friendly staff who were willing to accommodate special requests and made a team outing memorable. The Chicken 65 was very good and biryani was impeccable as always. It seems like Chef forgot how to make a biryani. Rice looked stale, chicken and goat tasted horrible. Those biryani's were respectfully placed in trash after few bites. Nothing special about food. Ridiculous staff (server: Ajay) and stupid cheap mentality owner (Srevanth) So I went in first time for lunch with a couple of office colleagues on a not so busy Thursday afternoon. Since the beginning, Ajay was as dis-respectful as he could be, forgetting to take my order amongst the group and wearing an attitude as if he owns the franchise. Caring least to greet the customer, speak properly and explain if asked something, this guy had the nerve to raise his voice on us and slam the bill on the table. The owner on the other hand is cheap enough to offer us free food rather than apologizing for his staff's behavior. May be he was so stupid that it didn't strike him so I mentioned it explicitly.
