I have returned as I promised in my first review. The dishes I chose tonight were Shrimp Majestic, Mixed Vegetable Kurmo, and Onion Kulcho. The Onion Kulcho was a nice flatbread with spices baked into it, tasty addition to the Mixed Veggie Kurmo which is now one of my favorite dishes of all time. Coupled with the Onion bread made each bite rich and flavorful. The Shrimp Majestic is amazing. Also a top ten choice I will absolutely enjoy again. I love spicy foods. I was only so adventurous settling on American Spicy. Yes, Biryani City lets you choose the spice level. While everything was amazing next time I'm going with Indian Spicy. I ordered delivery and used GrubHub and everything came nicely packaged. I'm in a wheelchair so I needed them to deliver to my door and they handled that wonderfully. Because I did delivery I can't comment on the restaurants decor or cleanliness but I am committed to visit them as soon as I'm back walking & driving. One thing I'll say is Biryani City makes incredibly flavorful dishes. I strongly recommend trying them out. If you're like me, you'll become a regular customer. Thank you Biryani City for enlightening me to wonderful foods of your culture.

great selection of north indian dishes. one that i really enjoyed was the egg biryani, with lots of half-cut eggs, flavorful rice, and a warm spice to it. they have an option where you control the level of spices, and i think it's very helpful, especially for someone like me who eats a medium level of spice. there's a lot of room for variation in the spice level, which is a great system to have. i absolutely love the baby corn manchurian appetizer, it had a nice crunch and was a very large serving size. i definitely recommend checking out the spot. i will mention they have a lot of takeout orders, so it is a bit confusing when you get there to figure out where to wait to be seated, but otherwise it was very smooth. my food was ready in maybe 30 minutes or so, and the inside of the restaurant has an upscale feel.

Definitely one of the best places to enjoy goat biryani in New Jersey. The owner of the restaurant met with all the guests to ensure good service. He also gave good recommendations, all of which were great. The biryani tasted perfect with a special mention about the tender and flavorful meat. The goat pepper fry was a good appetizer, which was recommended by the owner. It was a busy afternoon and service was a bit slow. The owner recommended both khubani ka meetha and double ka meetha for desserts. Both were equally yummy. Plenty of parking available. The establishment also has a party hall next door and does catering for events. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice with clean restrooms. Pricing : Moderate Definitely recommended this restaurant for a nice biryani meal if you are in the area.

It takes dedication and attention to details to be the best of the best. You can become a decent establishment with modest effort but to be a really discerning place, you need to dial-in with the patron empathy extra hard. After waiting for good 40m, two of us were finally seated. However, the host, knowingly set us up with broken seating. The backrest was shared between two tables and the party on the other side (three adult patrons) kept pushing back as if the seats were flatbed of a business class flight. Totally disregard for short term profits. Equipment malfunctions all the time but (a) seating us knowing the back rest was broken and (b) showing wanton disregard for our discomfort demonstrated apathy. Just appalled by their brazen attitude - clearly, it was a matter of math over their reputation. I don't see disrespecting myself by giving them another chance to show apathy. Never again!

If you love Indian food, this place is definitely for you! Gets packed even on weeknights so keep that in mind and they don't take reservations for my understanding. We called an hour and an ahead to get a table and they said by the time we come a table would be ready, but we were waiting there for 30 minutes before a table is ready. The options here are delicious and endless! We had to stop ourselves from ordering everything off the menu. Everything was made to order, hot and fresh. Make sure you pick the right spicy level, the staff is great at explaining them and making sure you are happy with what you ordered. The restaurants itself is like nothing I've seen before, color changing tables, funky seats and plates. Definitely an interesting lay out for an Indian food restaurant. My top two favorite dishes were definitely the chicken, lollipops and butter chicken. We left overs for the next 3 days and everything was still amazing reheated at home. Not many places can say that their food tastes great after 3 days in the fridge! Will definitely be back with a bigger group, the portions are huge and meant for more than 2 people.

Beautiful inside, friendly staff, delicious food! We had a large group with children. More than enough space for everyone to eat and enjoy. I got the paneer biryani because the restaurant is known for biryani. The spice levels for the food is great because I enjoy spicy food! Indian medium spice level is perfect! My wife and I will return because our son loved the food. He ate a lot! He like the dry chicken app.

Nice ambience with illuminated glass tables!

This is a really special Indian restaurant. They went all out with their decor and ambience. The chicken biryani is delicious and just spicy enough with the "American Spicy" setting. I will be back again the next time I am in Hillsborough.

Came here for my birthday and honestly surprised with how good the ambiance, service, and food was! It was well-lit, spacious, and decorated beautifully. For the menu items, we got chilli paneer, chilli chicken, vegetable chettinad, naan, vegetable biryani, and mutton biryani. Everything was delicious - had enough spice and abundance of flavor. Service was as usual compared to other restaurants; so neither slow or fast. I'm so happy we don't have to travel 25 minutes for a fancy Indian restaurant; there's one right in town! Will be coming back!

Their Zero Spice dish was 3x spicier than the multiple Mild dishes. Why offer different spice levels if you can't cook them correctly?!?

I have come here for a buffet…read moretwice (once on a weekend and once on a regular day), and enjoyed it so much that we picked this place to host my sister's intimate wedding party. Service is the best I have seen around this area. All of the staff we have met were friendly, and the same with the store manager. Ambiance is lovely. You can go here for dates, family brunch, lunch with friends, and even book their private room for parties and decorate it the way you want. Buffet price is great for what you get! I believe you normally get to make your own chaats as appetizers and there are 6 additional dishes. Once, there was even a live pani puri station (delicious)! Also the Naan is fresh and comes hot. We had Dhannu(?) as one of our servers, and he was awesome - very kind and friendly. All the servers were nice but we talked to him the most. If you reserve the room for a private party, you get to make it buffet style with 2 veg app, 2 non veg app, 2 veg entrees, 2 non Veg, rice/naan, choice of 2 desserts, and soda. You can add more for additional price. I added pictures of the items we had selected. The guests also enjoyed the food. Only change we would have done would be replacing the Falooda for a diff dessert. The Falooda was lacking the vermicelli noodles. Also, the butter chicken was lacking chicken. Other than that, all else was great.

My family and I recently held an event here after previously visiting for the buffet. Because of…read morethat, I have a lot to say both good and bad. Starting with the event food: it felt noticeably cheaper and lower quality, which was very disappointing. Prior to the event, we had all genuinely enjoyed the buffet food, so expectations were high. Unfortunately, the naan tasted frozen, like something from a bulk pack at Costco. It was thin, poorly made, and as someone who truly loves naan, I couldn't even finish a single piece. The meat and chicken dishes also did not taste nearly as good as they do during the buffet. The flavors were okay, but as someone familiar with South Asian cuisine, it was very underwhelming. Since this is the only Indian restaurant option in the area, that made the disappointment even greater. The staff overall was very kind and polite. The staff is truly amazing, very aware and ready to help which is wonderful!! They did an amazing job, 5/5 for the staff, no complaints there. However, my experience with the manager was not positive. He provided inconsistent and constantly changing information regarding the minimum number of people required to reserve the private room. For me, he told my partner and I that 45 people were required minimum. But later told my sister that it was 40 then 35 or 30 and it just kept changing. One change is not okay, maybe a mistake. But this? Not a mistake, definitely intentional. And if you don't know the correct answer, the right thing to do is find out before relaying any information. I found the inconsistency among the required number of guests and information extremely unprofessional, and it came across as money-driven, which was a major turn-off--especially when paired with the noticeably lower-quality food being served for a special event - aka a Wedding. Now, outside of the event, the buffet itself was excellent. The naan was fluffy and warm, and the chicken and meat dishes were flavorful and well prepared. Based on the buffet alone, I would have given this restaurant a 5 out of 5. The buffet is one I would recommend. However, due to how the event was handled, the inconsistencies, and the poor quality of food provided for what was supposed to be a wedding event, I have to rate this experience a 3 out of 5. Providing customers with inaccurate and inconsistent information, especially from a manager, is not professional and is simply not okay. ESPECIALLY because it was a private party as well in which they are making more money and taking images to promote the area.

We had provided a pre selected menu beforehand so that we wouldn't have to worry about taking orders for the group (~15 of us). The restaurant was a great spot to host my dad's birthday- they didn't rush us at all and created an environment in which everyone was able to talk to each other easily. The food itself- - paneer tikka: delicious! A favorite, although there was fewer paneer pieces and more onion pieces. It was very yummy but I wish it was more balanced. Even a better balance between the onion, pepper, and broccoli would have been better. -samosa chat: great! No notes on this one. Was very yummy. - sag paneer: wasn't my favorite, there wasn't anything wrong with it, I just liked other dishes more - dum aloo: this was great! Very tasty. However, we had to keep asking the staff to bring more out instead of them keeping an eye on what dishes needed refilling. Given that we had provided a headcount beforehand of how many people were coming, it was frustrating that not everyone got to try this dish. There was lots of gravy, but not enough aloo. - Methi malai matar: was very tasty! Overall the food was very good and I'd recommend trying as many dishes of theirs as possible. The service itself was frustrating since we had to keep an eye on what needed refilling and inform the staff, instead of them bringing more food out (we were the only group in the restaurant). But that being said, other restaurants are not nearly as accommodating as masala Art. We had initially asked Chand Palace if they would be able to accommodate us and they had told us that we would only get the table for a set amount of time and we weren't allowed to bring decorations or anything like that. We will be back for sure!
