I found A METAL STRING in their food. I contacted the restaurant 3 times and there's been no response from them. On May 30, 2026, I picked up the fish combo for dinner through Uber Eats. While eating the fish curry, I bit into a thin metal string, which scratched the inside of my mouth. I could have swallowed it. I've reported this to Uber Eats and made three separate attempts to contact this restaurant (through their website and Yelp) with no reply. The lack of response is deeply concerning. Other customers need to be aware of this safety/health hazard. I hope management takes this seriously. read more

This is another local rt 202 hidden gem you can easily miss amongst all the other options in the general area. This is a tight, intimate location with seating for maybe 20 people tops, and that seems generous, but they do pretty fast takeout so I'll usually get it to go. Usually I've got my food within 20 minutes of ordering, but if it's busy you're better calling it in. The food is delicious, and whoa is it spicy, so do not be shy about asking them for the American spicy not Indian spicy or you're going to suffer, but it isn't spicy without flavor to back it up. By that I mean while you'll be crying actual tears from the spice, you'll also taste an incredible palette of flavors and non-atomic spices that are masterfully blended into all the usual classic dishes, and some unique ideas as well. Good mango lassi on the menu, and it is CLEARLY there to mitigate some of this spice, so be sure you get yourself one. The Saag Paneer is a perfect 10 in my book. The tandoori is to die for, the naan is great, it's all great, give this place a chance! read more

Let me just say that I'm admittedly a bit of a snob, having owned my own restaurant, and living in NYC my whole life, surrounded by some of the best restaurants in so many different styles of food. This appears to be a mom 'n pop shop, and it may have been the wife who let me in, took my order, served the food, etc. I didn't see any other servers here, and the whole time I'm here (7pm on a Tuesday night), there was only one other table dining here. There were a couple of take-out and delivery orders. I would love to see them bring in some Iced Tea. The decor is a little kitschy, but it's an Indian restaurant, so it works pretty well. It's nothing fancy, and I want even given a knife to cut up the lamb, though she brought a bottled water to the table which appeared to mean that it's complimentary. I would like to suggest to ownership that the bathroom door be cleaned up. It wasn't bad enough to wipe a star off of the review, but it could definitely turn some diners off, and badly. Came here on the way to my sister's house on Thanksgiving. We just needed a little something to hold us over until dinner. They offer an Indian buffet. It looked delicious! But too much food for what we wanted that day. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and my husband ordered the chicken biryani. The order took a while but they were making it fresh. We also ordered the garlic nann bread. Our meal came with rice. Prices were reasonable. I loved my chicken tikka masala! My husband enjoyed his chicken dish as well. It was very flavorful and a good size. The only thing is that (the owner or his wife) was not very friendly. She was very nice to another Indian customer who came in but not to us. I placed another order through a third-party app with no issues. This time, I had the chicken 777 as a starter. It was a spicy dish with lots of large pieces of fried chicken. It definitely packed a lot of heat. The chicken was very tender. I also tried the Alu Tikki chat. These potato patties were tasty as well. For my entrée, I had the lamb combo which consisted of lamb curry, two pieces of kabab, naan, daal, and rice. There was a lot of food to this dish. The lamb kabab had 2 or 3 big pieces of meat with plenty of the vegetables. They were flavored and seasoned nicely. The naan and rice soaked up the curry enough while an order of garlic naan helped with the daal. It was another satisfying meal. read more

An amazing takeout/Uber eats joint finally! We were craving for spicy Indian food after our trip to Italy, with little expectations and extremely jet lagged we used Uber eats to order chicken biriyani, mutton/goat sukkah and Gongura chicken. Though a bit greasy and spicy especially the chicken but the biriyani and goat was cooked to perfection, with right amount of spice and heat. Wish the Gongura had a little more Gongura leaves but knowing it sometimes hard to find during all seasons. Trying more Indian lately, so we were excited to try this local place. Overall, a good experience. They went out of their way to wrap the food containers in plastic wrap to prevent leaks. We got the butter chicken, Andhra style chicken fry biryani, schezwan chicken Hakka noodles, chicken momo, garlic naan and some basmati rice. While the flavor was fantastic on everything, the heat level on everything was more than we expected. At other Indian places, you can indicate what spice level you'd like and that wasn't an option here unfortunately. We tried to ask for "very mild" in the comments, but I don't think that was successful. My kids unfortunately only ate the momo for dinner as a result. And the biryani was so hot, even my husband who has a high tolerance found it very difficult to eat. The garlic naan was tasty, but it was much more garlic heavy than other places we've had it. We really enjoyed the food overall, but without being able to indicate spice level we really can't eat this as a family again. So maybe they could consider this option in the future. read more

Today, we ordered food from this restaurant through Uber Eats. Shortly after eating, my son started experiencing discomfort in his throat and stomach, which led to severe vomiting. We did not requested the food to be spicy, but it was overwhelmingly spicy .The spice level was unbearable for all of us, leaving our tongues burning. On top of that, the food was not even flavorful or enjoyable. I highly recommend reading reviews before ordering from this place. Based on our experience, I would rate this 1/5. read more

This place has incredible Indian food for Hunterdon County. I don't think it gets better than this. Every seat was taken for lunch when we arrived and the waitress was very nice as she situated seats for our party of 5. We asked for everything spicy and they did not disappoint. Chicken 65 was some of the best I've had with the right amount of curry leaves and heat to keep you coming back for more. Only thing I needed was an ice cold beer. This place does not serve alcohol. Chicken lollipop had three chicken drumsticks that were batter fried and then wok tossed in a delicious Manchurian style sauce. Very nice dish that are more like a meal. The Lamb shank in a thick curry was tender and fell off the bone. Goat karahi was absolutely delicious packed with peppercorn and onions. The Andrah lamb dum biryani brought tears of joy to the table as we devoured every last bite. For desserts I'd recommend the Kulfi ice cream. read more

Driving up 202 & randomly spotted that this place had gone into on of the strip malls. Owner told me that they had been here @ a month. Menu is very extensive, so many Indian dishes, but also has some Mediterranean & Indo-Chinese cuisine. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They had great lunch specials. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala which was amazing. Naan bread was crisp. Dal was delicious. Basmati Rice was tasty and fluffy. Don't have anything negative to say. Maybe except that I wish I could have fit more in my stomach. Can't wait to go back & try more. While I was there lots of door dash & take out orders. Wish them well! There's always a lonnnnng wait getting my food, even if I add 15-20 minutes to the promised time.. Simultaneously really good and really disappointing. Quarantine has had me missing NYC, and one of my favorite guilty pleasures is lamb on rice form a street halal vendor. A couple of the chain halal places offer a similar platter, but none of them serve lamb. Imagine my delight to see a 'New York Style Lamb and Rice" on this menu. Ordered instantly. Here's where i"m torn: what arrived was absolutely delicious. Lamb had a nice crust on it, salad was shredded lettuce on a nice rice...a little overly murdered in white sauce, but still very tasty. The issue? This is definitely not new york style. New York style is a scoop of lettuce, a couple tomatoes, scoop of rice and a couple scoops of shredded (not sliced) lamb. Oh and lack of hot sauce? That's a pretty big failure as well. What I just ate was absolutely very tasty, but was not what I'd expected at all. I would absolutely KILL to find a real 'NY Style lamb on rice'. All of that aside, nice sized serving for 10 bucks (note to all: 6 bucks in NY gets you lamb and chicken on rice AND a soda). I will absolutely be back to try the more traditional Indian offerings. read more

My sister and I have been back home in Jersey for quarantine and cannot get enough of Zaika's paneer. It's hands down the best we've had ever (and I've had a lot of paneer!) We've been getting takeout and it's always easy and safe to grab the food and go (the staff is friendly too). Our go to is the paneer and the malai kofta - the kofta is also some of the best I've had. We've tried some other dal dishes but they weren't as good but some of the chicken dishes look really great as well. Lots of time to try everything out with the current situation, look forward to continuing to get food from here. read more

Figured I'd give them another try. I ordered online and both times, arriving 5 minutes early, I had to wait another 20 minutes for my order. I think they started both orders after I showed up. The food quality is quite good and the spice is kicked up a notch. A bit of frustration in that the entrees do NOT seem to include rice. Thought it was an oversight the first time, but now I realize that they don't include anything with the entree other than the entree - just when you order a combo. Also, if you get Naan and a flavored Naan, they'll wrap both in the same foil and the dominant flavor will transfer. Great Indian food. Very friendly owners. I was staying nearby on a business trip and saw this restaurant as I drove to my hotel. They were closing when I called but agreed to cook my meal. I had the chicken Tandoori and paneer tikka masala. Both were incredible. Full of flavor and tasting like some of the best Indian food I've had. The paneer was in a rich sauce packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. I like to feel a little sweat forming on the top of my head but not a fire in my mouth. The chicken Tandoori consisted of two full chicken legs that were perfectly cooked. They had a nice light crust on them from the Tandoori. All in all, a great treat giving my short stay there. Sorry!! Seems I am the definite minority here. Food is spicy but very oily!! We ordered 5 different meals and threw away 3. Sad because we really wanted to like it. Spicy enough, but just flavorless. Lamb tikka masala tasted bland and a little strange. Chicken koftahad little flavor and an eggplant/peanut/coconut dish tasted purely like oil and chilli. Pretty new. Glad we spotted it (tough location, in that strip mall). My son and I had lunch on Saturday. FANTASTIC. Very pleasant, accommodating staff. Oh, the food was GREAT, also ;) My son turned vegetarian, they helped him pick out a dish (so many veg. choices). Chef made him something special; I think it was like a Shaam Kofta, but didn't look so creamy. I had the Chicken Biryani; as best as I've ever had it. They have over a dozen Biryanis, but I went with the chef's suggestion that day. These were coupled with a yellow lentil soup (Dal Tadka), and some just baked Naan bread. Struggled to finish our portions; had to pass on dessert. I notice they are prepared for the less adventurous; their menu has a section of 'Mediterranean' (lamb gyros, falafels, and Indo-Chinese fusion (some noodle dishes). I *will* try the falafel one day, since it is paired with Afgan Pulav (a better style of a rice pilaf). Based on the Indian dishes we had, it has GOT to be just as good. But, that will be a while. Too many new Indian dishes I spotted. Going back for the Tandoori Pomphret Fish, next. And, I've got to see if his Punjabi Chole tastes better than MY Chole, masala-style. read more

This is The best Indian restaurant I have ever come across in the Region. I'm floored that this is in a random strip mall in random NJ!!! I mean just phenomenal preparation of all dishes! Not mass produced, subtle garnish touches, clearly fresh ingredients, generous portions. Nailed preparation of both north and South Indian styles.
