If I could leave less than one star I would. First visit they tried charging me for a test I explicitly said no to. Called them after the appointment, and they played dumb and refunded me. A week later after paying invoice in full, they said we owed $12 more and could not clearly explain why. I came to an agreement that if I paid that, they would leave us alone. Another week later I get a letter in the mail saying," Please pay ASAP, thanks." APPARENTLY we owed another $60 for who knows what (they couldn't explain). I called them and they said that it was a mistake. Moral of the story is, they do this because most people are too scared to call and argue to get their money back. TOTAL money grab, scammers at best. Will NEVER be returning or recommending this place. read more

The younger doc here is great - super friendly, easy to work with. The older gentleman should probably not be working... I came into their office referred because my eyelid was drooping (ptosis). I was brought into the room where this older doctor was waiting, and he wasn't able to turn on the computer. He tried multiple times, to no avail. Told me we were going to have to move to another room because he couldn't get it to turn on. We move to another room, and he has an assistant come in to turn THAT computer on. That should have been my first clue. I describe my symptoms and he seems very confused. Doesn't look in my eye, doesn't do anything...he gets an ice pack out and tells me to hold it on my affected eye for 5 minutes. What? He says it'll determine whether or not I have myasthenia gravis. Um, ok. So I do it. He literally takes out a standard ruler, measures my pupil, and says, "yep, myasthenia gravis. You need to see your regular doctor". I take his orders to my primary care, and she literally laughed. You don't have myasthenia gravis, she said, but I will refer you to a neurologist to make sure. So, I have to pay specialist prices and drive 45 minutes away to see a neurologist. The neurologist adamantly says to me, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES do you have anything close to myasthenia gravis. That's an incredibly serious diagnosis to toss around with a ruler and an ice pack! She was appalled. So here I am, 2 doctors later (one a specialist with specialist copays) to be told I have simple ptosis. Oh yeah, and this office tried to bill me $150 for this quack to tell me this. All in all, this "diagnosis" cost me almost $1k with driving, copays, tests, etc. I would never in a million years recommend this guy, especially if you have something going on that might require a professional's attention. read more

This office is great about misinforming their customers about prices. I was told my dry eye appointment would be COMPLETELY covered by insurance. Then there was a $50 cancellation fee, I didn't cancel, but when I got there, there was an $80 fee that I was completely unaware of. I was told my balance was all payed up after paying that fee, then two months later, I was notified of another $60 copay after I was told I owed nothing else. I called in to see what the fee was for, and I was proceeded to be put on hold for 20 minutes. At the end, the girl picked up the phone, said someone was on lunch and they would call me back later, then completely forgot what the situation was and I had to restate everything I previously mentioned before the 20 minute hold. read more

What an amazing experience here at Paradise Canyon. They move you through the process of a complete eye exam with efficiency & care. They will ask you how much detailed information you would like to have during this process. I am a type who likes to know everything going on, & they can do that without speaking above your head. This was such a great place to get my eyes checked! I randomly found it on my insurance list and decided to make a call. They had an opening the very next day! I'm not used to that. I'm used to waiting about a month, at least. I was greeted and offered water, a snack, and reading material while I waited. Also, they give you a first time patient tour of the facility AND a gift! What?! Dr. Fife is very knowledgeable and a big part of the community. He has one of the very few eye care centers that provide neurolens. This was something I hadn't heard of before. It really opened my eyes (no pun intended) to what can mess up your vision and cause other symptoms that can be quite cumbersome; headaches to the point of migraines, neck pain, nausea, dizziness, sensitivity to light, and tired eyes. I will definitely consider getting these lenses if I don't see a difference with my new normal prescription. Seriously, the only difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little bit of extra and they definitely do that. read more

I did a fantastic 5 star review for my experience here. Yelp pulled the review saying it was questionable??????????? 10 stars!!! The fantastic customer service started with my first call and got even better once I got there. Upon arriving, I was given a tour around the office and offered a water bottle and snacks. My host discussed their philosophy and talked to me about the doctor and what would happen in the appointment. I was then taken into the initial exam room and was handed a gift bag and a personalized card welcoming me and thanking me for coming to them. My initial discussion was about my eyes and me as a person - with some easy conversation so they could get to know me. I did several different exams and then was formally introduced to the Dr. He was very personable and caring! I have never had my eyes so thoroughly tested.....it was really quite remarkable. Upon completing the exam I was escorted to the eyeglass area where they had a thorough selection of just about everything you could want. The 2 gals could not have been nicer and low pressure. I selected 2 separate pairs and they were very efficient in pulling things all together. They said they would call me in probably 2 weeks when they came. 2 days later I got a thank you card in the mail. 4 days later I got a call saying both pairs were ready. I went in to pick them up and they were great except for one frame that was the wrong color (not their fault). They told me to take the pair that was the wrong color and they got on the phone and ordered the correct one while I was there. 3-4 days later the new frame was in and they easily swapped out the frame. No one pushed anything on me trying to sell extra things. I was offered the option to get one test that was not covered by insurance and I just said no. This is an add-on that I have been offered wherever I've gone. Seriously, they should be training other businesses in the St. George area! read more

Great experience. From the appointment experience to the contact/ glass ordering transaction and everything in between, Dr Fife and his team do a great job. I can't give a negative star so i have no choice but to give them a star. I tried working with paradise eye care and they are blaming the place they sent my glasses out to be done, they use the information they are given and four times my glasses had to go back because of paradise's own incompetence. I have since been to another facility and received my glasses yea!! The company that prepares your glasses does so with the information they are given by your eye doctors, so if they are incorrect it's the fault of your eye doctors for sending in the wrong information. I paid $600.00 for what i received and will not see anything back. What away to treat a veteran. read more

I have a number of issues with my experience at Paradise Eye. The first being the doctor tried selling me over $200 worth of different supplements that conveniently his office carries. $90 for this vitamin, $60 for two packs of this wash. The mark up seems insane. He had printed out literature on each item but I really felt like I was being duped. Secondly-It's been about 3 weeks since my appointment and so I called to see when I could pick up my glasses. I was told there was an issue with the lenses and it would be another 2 weeks. Lastly, my bill was close to $700. I submitted my insurance and was told I would be getting a refund and they would call me when it goes through. I had to call twice to follow up about this refund and my receipt had no information on the billing or prices, just the amount of the refund. I would say this beware of this place. I felt like they were trying to leach every last penny out of me. It also felt phony. They put your name on a welcome sign and have a gift bag waiting with a phone charger. You get a tour of the facility (I didn't ask for one) when you arrive which is basically going down a hall and being told what each plaque the doctor has received means. 2 hours later I walked out with a $700 bill. 3 weeks later I still don't have glasses. read more

While visiting St. George recently, my wife got something stuck in her eye and it needed immediate attention. Our first call was to Paradise Canyon Eye Care. Even though we didn't have an appointment, Dr. Fife's staff told us to come in right away. Dr. Fife was as careful and thorough as he could be during a very stressful situation. He took care of the problem and we were greatly relieved. We can't say enough about his calm demeanor and professionalism. He was a giant in every way. The staff and Dr. Fife are all very nice, but for both visits I had to wait nearly an hour to be seen (a little excessive for an optometrist) and have not had great luck in communicating with the office about getting a receipt for the contacts I ordered. I also couldn't help but feel like they have an agenda to push certain brands of contacts (that not very many people seem to stock besides them). Their glasses policy seemed quite strict, so I chose to steer clear of that. I was trying to find a provider that I liked that was covered by my insurance, but in the end, I think I'm going to stick with Costco... read more

Sunglasses are a requirement when playing Pickleball in the bright, glaring St. George sun. I've played for a few years became discouraged when I began missing shots or hitting the ball out! I began thinking that it could be due to my progressive Oakley sunglasses. I took my recent eye exam results and my 'progressive' lens theory to Paradise Canyon Eye Care. With Shay Allsup expertise and friendly guidance, we came up with a replacement lens that has really helped my game. It is a non-progressive, mirrored lens that provides excellent glare protection as well as a non-transition field of vision. The only time I wear these sunglasses is playing Pickleball and apparently they have helped improve my game. My women's partner and I won a bronze medal at the recent 2019 Fall Bawl Pickleball tournament at Little Valley Pickleball Complex in St. George. Had a bad experience, I said I wanted to upgrade my glasses for license renewal.. We I couldn,t read the eye chart and knew something was wrong.they cleaned my glasses then said I had glaucoma , which I didn,t but made me take eye drops for 3 months., I said I can,t see the eye chart, they told me to go home and come back in 6 months.. I immediately called the best opthamologist. And had to wait 3 months.. They tested me for 2-3 months,nothing matched ordered an MRI and I had a bleeding brain tumor that was growing so big and prevented my eyes from seeing clearly..I was rushed into surgery, luckily the brain surgery took out the tumor but pituatary gland was damaged when I called the optometrist back he hung up in me.. read more

I went in just wanting some rx sunglasses. I didn't need an exam so I faxed my rx over. When I sat down the gentleman started pulling sunglasses. I didn't get a chance to look around for my style. He never asked price point and so pulled a $450 pair of frames! I said that they were too expensive and he told me "well let's just put them in the maybe pile.". I finally tried some on that I liked. We started the lense process and I told him I DID NOT like the brown lenses I wanted grey as dark as possible. He then rang me up with over a $450 bill I said"um can I give you my ins card?" He seemed disappointed and put out that he would have to run my card. He tried to get me to pay half the self pay price then see where the ins got us. I refused. I paid the amount after ins was run. 10 days later got a text that my frames were in, went in to grab them and low and behold brown frames. I told them it is not what I ordered but that I needed them for my vacation coming up. She said no problem they would be back in time. Called me back later saying they wouldn't and I could keep the glasses while they sent off for lenses. Went to pick them back up only to be told they sent them off by mistake, only to be called the next morning and told that they didn't in fact send them off and I could drive back again to pick them up!! Waited another week and got a text that my lenses were in. Go in to switch and wouldn't you know it they weren't there. She didn't know why it kicked out a message. 4 hrs later... yep got a call that my lenses were for sure there. So I got to drive back yet again to finally get my glasses. And they are hardly tinted. I give up. They all laughed about the whole situation like it was a joke. I would never recommend this place to anyone!!! read more

I must say I was thoroughly disappointed with this office. Just the basic eye exam was $90, which is fine, but I expected that I would be able to walk out with a complete prescription in hand. I explained that I do not have insurance of any kind and would need to order my glasses online to save money. My granddaughter broke my other pair and I needed to get new glasses asap. They refused to provide me with the measurements I needed to order my glasses, unless I was buying from them! I literally cried when I got to my car because not only did I spend almost $100 on the exam, I still cannot order the glasses I need. I've had other eye exams before and have always been provided the information I need to order them, well, not here! Just because I wasn't able to order from them right now, doesn't mean I wouldn't be able to in the future. Now I will never order from them because I will never go back and I will never refer anyone. They've lost the opportunity for a life time customer because I will always need glasses - not having insurance to help cover the cost is only temporary. Good thing there are plenty of other options - I wish I would have chosen one of them the first time. read more
