Just about everybody in that office has taken a stab at my left eye and I'm grateful for who they are and that they were there and available to help me! Sometimes life just happens!! Thank you to , Dr Richens, Shakoor and Talbot. Rockstars!!!

probably one of the top three worst experiences I've ever had as a patient…read more While under , the care of this clinic, there was a series of 5 to 6 doctors who rotated through, no consistency or continuity and care, specifically not having the medication on hand and constantly having to go to different meds and samples My vision actually got worse for an extended period of time due to their erratic reporting or review in the EHR, one Dr told me that one of the meds was superior while the other reported another. needless to say, somebody in accounting, specifically Darr told me that By Visma was the superior med, keeping in mind. This is the accountant who's completely incompetent giving me medical advice.-hopefully she'll get hers from licensing. When it finally reached an impasse, Dr. Richens did step in, but at that point, my vision had already declined in terms of the scans, very alarming and very disconcerting as patient care and continuity are such key elements. These issues were never addressed directly. It is always glazed over, as as often in the case when somebody has more narcissistic traits, they do not care necessarily about your concerns, They're only addressed to get you out of there. On several occasions, I was rushed out of the office post shot having to return a few minutes later due to excessive pressure that turned out to be extremely dangerous and they had to do counter measures, If I had I not come back I wonder if my eye would have been incapacitated. Needless to say, that staff needs further training, one raised her voice at me in the dark when I had to sit in a broken chair in an outdated machine, trying to get a scan for my peripheral vision only to have her scream at me when I had to move due to the chair breaking, she yelled "that is one strike" she screamed at me in the dark "stop moving" . I surmise that she's so used to working with elderly folks that she thinks she needs to yell harshly at the patient. if I had a parent or grandparent go in there, I would immediately stop that from occurring. David R., her husband, and supposedly the acting manager of the clinic, is somebody I reached out to at first, was somewhat responsive, but once he realized there were issues with the service, he disappeared, I surmise that he is just part of the machine there, with no real power or say and how things go down and he was advised to just ignore me as a patient. Finally, Dar in billing has to be one of the rudest individuals I've ever experienced, not only is she incompetent, she gives dirty, looks to patients in pain, and I personally witnessed her insult and negate a young Latino male and his elderly grandfather in the lobby over a smaller bill(threatening collections in front of everybody), apparently this is something that happens quite often with their billing people. I can only imagine how degraded they must have all felt.... but I didn't have to wait long as they came for me too. To my greatest dismay and discussed, I finally became somewhat of a target when they messed up the pre-authorization for my eye shot, and then subsequently refused to rebill it, impacting my deductible process as well as my coverage, and then months later I find that it was rebill, probably so they could make additional profit and now I'm going to be waiting on a check from them, Hopefully they just take care of it without further ethical concerns. You might have initially a reasonable experience, but my experience at Retinal Associates, was completely different. The billing person was friendly and kind and reached out to me responding to my calls to set up the insurance and other assistance for the shot and it was just a completely transformative process. I'm only mentioning the other clinic as it was so different, I regretted not changing years earlier, just know you do not have to put up with Richard and their incompetence. This is my opinion. It's my experience and in my opinion David R specifically had the opportunity to make things right and meet the standard of care and the continuity of care that I required over the period of those months when I reached out to him, failed me at the highest level. To say it's gross malpractice-and from what I see here on the fiduciary side pretty consistently that way,, would be an understatement Again, just my opinion, but if you choose to go that route, just know you've been informed. Creating fear in your patient (me) and doing harm to them providing inadequate care across the board) with no follow up or communication. It's a travesty. they're clearly an organization that has learned nothing, does not care about reviews and values money over my care.

The people there were phenomenal and got me set up with 2 pairs of new glasses in 2 hrs! It would've been faster, but they had to turn one set from puck into lenses. That took quite a bit of extra time. I needed these prescription glasses to be able to continue travels as I need them for driving. Everybody from the eyecare center, to reception to optometrist, we're all super pleasant and very helpful. It made this stressful situation, a pleasure to get handled!!

The doctor finally came in and I voiced my frustration of having to wait such a long time. He didn't seem very sincere when he apologized with empty words to appease me. I think this is just part of their practice and they think they are so busy and making so much money that they can get away with their disregard for their patients. Well, I'm taking my business elsewhere. StG may be a small town, but there are other ophthalmologists who will be happy to have my business. I'll make sure my primary care physician knows so he can stop referring them to patients.
