So our wedding was a 5/5 experience but management is definitely old school and could use a lot of work. There is no texting, only a landline, and an email to work with. Good luck reaching anyone via email. To have a 6 hour wedding with 50 people, it costs roughly 10k for the space (about average when you factor in lighting, furniture and seating at other venues) but you have to pay for you own prep time. Only an hour is complimentary, so if you want to add any personal touches at all you basically need to pay for that time. Considering you're paying 10k, the fact that one is not allowed to leave decor at the venue is super unreasonable. There was no event going on the day prior except for our own rehearsal. So we were to bring everything we could on our own day of, and beg our wedding planner to help. They claimed it was for "liability purpose" yet I was allowed to leave my dress grossing 2800 at the venue and not my $10 box of flowers... and the lightning that was already hanging cost $750 to allegedly rehang. Who knows why that needed $750. There were claims that there was not enough space to leave any belongings or purchase enough chairs for my guests, but from what I can see it's just badly organized. There's a massive stack of CDs in front of the bridal room coated with so much dust you can barely read the titles. There's all kinds of knick knacks everywhere by the piano. The dust in the bridal room is bore line scary when you look closely, the chandelier had dead flowers and cobwebs. The frames are coated with dust. Again, the wedding itself was beautiful but for 10k you'd think someone could be paid $200 to come in there to clean. I sincerely have no idea what my 10k went towards since the Morgage on the house is non existent according to Zillow. Emails were rarely answered in a timely manner, which is tough if you're a bride organizing almost everything. and their sweet sweet dog who was advertised as a ring bearer apparently only performed this service one time prior and got side tracked and pulled my flower girl into the bushes. I love that kind of silliness and don't blame the dog one bit. But it certainly feels like false advertising to say that this dog is willing to do the service but come day of my planner told me of all the weddings she'd aided there, she's never seen it happen once. We had a great wedding, but it's massively overpriced for how little effort is going in on the home owner's end. A beautiful scam. 3 stars for my guest's wonderful experience but not to my own chaotic one.

This was the most intimate and thoughtful experience that we have attended. The staff was genuine and extremely nice. The facilities were easy to navigate and didn't seem overly fabricated to create a fake experience. The view was outstanding, jaw, dropping, amazing. We were treated to several demonstrations on how the people lived on the island. My group got to watch an authentic dance and performance. And we end the night with entertainment while enjoying a island buffet. From Kahlúa pork to sticky rice to traditional foods our group got the try so many cultural aspects of the island. One of the best parts of this experience is, they are situated in a state park, so there is no light pollution, noise, pollution, or any other random traffic that can interrupt your experience. Easy peasy wedding in front of a judge. I was already stressed out with wedding planning…read more(pre-covid) but looking back I'm glad we went this route. Saved a ton of money. It was really easy. Schedule an appointment, but first you have to get your marriage license at the Department of Health in order to get married. You and your soon to be spouse have to go to the DOH together in person to get the marriage license. Then you have to take the marriage license to your appointment (I think it's within 30 days or something, you don't have to go on the same day). When I called to make an appointment, the woman who answered was really patient with me and really helpful. We chose a Saturday in December 2020 since we both work M-F. Got there about 15 mins early, waited in our car and saw another couple go in before us. The judge was able to take us earlier than our appointment time - we were in and out in about 10 minutes! The judge was so nice and took tons of pictures of us using my iPhone. She also let me record the entire wedding (the ceremony took about 4 mins) so I could show my family later (they didn't come due to covid). On Saturdays it's easy because the courts are closed and there is plenty of street parking. It's in a small hole in the wall on the same block as Circuit Court. Just around the corner, or across the street from Nio boba place. Inside is pretty small, because of covid they didn't allow anyone inside (I think it was max 1 or 2 guests). Maybe it's changed now but good to call and double check. Note: lighting isn't all that great inside and the AC was blowing loudly. So in my video it's a little dark and hard to hear but oh well. Had to edit the video to make it lighter. If you are wondering what to wear - I actually came the day before to pay and saw people wearing whatever's. Some wearing all white, some super casual, some in office attire. I wore a casual white mini dress and my husband wore a floral collared shirt with slacks.

They may not be the biggest wedding planning company in Hawaii, but they were worth every penny. Communication was a big plus. We called them all the time during the planning phase from California, and were able to reach a live person almost all the time, and received prompt callbacks when we didn't. Jackie was our contact person up front and did a great job helping us right through the day of the wedding. Their wedding packages were very straightforward with no hidden charges, and they were very helpful in explaining all the options and helping us pick the right package for our needs. They also provided links to the necessary government sites to apply for our wedding permit online, so that once we reached Hawaii we were in and out of the government office in 15 minutes. They also helped us choose a wedding location and the subsequent hotel to make everything as simple as possible. They recommended the closest hotels to where we wanted to get married and we ended up staying at a great spot (Marriott Ko Olina Beach Club). As for the wedding itself, Jonathan (who sometimes presides over ceremonies but in this case was the photographer) made my bride and I feel like were we movie stars, and strained and contorted himself into all kinds of angels and positions to get the perfect shots (often taking some waves in the process). The ceremony itself was simple yet very well done (thanks Mark). They've had a wedding business in Las Vegas for around ten years and it shows in their experience and execution. Most importantly, my bride-to-be was a bit of a wreck heading to the beach ceremony (which bride isn't), but once we met up with Jonathan, his calm demeanor and reassuring manner put us totally at ease and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I'm sure there are some larger companies that might offer a lot more bells and whistles and elite-level packages, but for a couple looking for a simple yet very special beach wedding in Hawaii, we couldn't be happier with Hawaii Nei Weddings and would recommend them to all like-minded couples.

There are a couple or outlets if you want to bring a radio or rice cooker ;) And you can't have rice without having some kind of meat. There's two stationary grills on property. The trash is taken out by management when you turn the keys back in and pick up your deposit. I believe the deposit is $250. There are bathrooms in the back. No porta potties thank God. No real flying creatures to stanch your food and plenty of fresh air. You will get the occasional roar of a plane engine since the runway is close by and sometimes you see a naval ship just off the coast heading out or doing maneuvers. Overall five stars. The scenery is beautiful and he can't beat the price. M

Foster Point Peninsula on Hickam AFB is the absolute worst place for a picnic lunch! Please don't…read morego there. It is so ugly! It is surrounded on three sides by pristine azure waters... YUCK! You can see the skyline of Honolulu and the silhouette of Diamond Head... so horrific! Nearby sail boats gently rock to small waves on the aforementioned pristine azure waters... you do not want to see this! There is no comfortable place to sit and eat. There are only maybe a dozen clean tables from which to choose: some in the shade, some in the sun, and some are under a pavilion to use in the unlikely event it rains during your picnic... Don't take the chance! Today during lunch (well, for the first few minutes) I had to share the peninsula with one other picnicker. Sure he was like 40 yards away, but you shouldn't have to put up with this! And the wind! Today it was so blustery that it threatened to blow my napkin off the table... not once, but TWICE! Oh and it is so noisy... did I mention the sail boats and the waves? Well, they're not silent, ya know! They make this monotonous "lap-lap-lap" sound that might drive you crazy! And you'd be dining only a couple miles from the airport. So as you watch the lumbering jets lift off gracefully into the sky, you can actually hear them. .. It's horrendous! It so far out of the way! It takes minutes and minutes (maybe as many as five) to drive out there from the base proper.... Don't waste your valuable time! So in short, take my advice: Do not put up with ugliness, then uncomfortable conditions, the noisiness, and the long long ride out to Foster Point Peninsula for a picnic lunch! It's just not worth it. But if you do, you'll likely see me there enjoying my picnic lunch; and if you do, feel free to wave. But try to keep your 40 yards separation! ;-)
