I didn't know this place existed until one of my friends had a party here. I didn't even know you could host parties here as long as you have military base access. It's very spacious and you bring your own food. They do offer alcoholic beverages at the bar so that is one thing off the list to not have to worry about. They have a tennis court and I think a basketball court nearby. Lots of parking so that's always a plus. They keep the area clean and tidy which is a must, especially since it is an outdoor facility. read more

Not an extensive food menu--Food is standard bar food. So think, corn dogs, fries, nachos, type food. Not bad, not 5-star gourmet food. Located in the old Barbers Point Coast guard base you need to be sponsored or be in the military to go into Hideaway and rent the Private pavilion to hold gathering. They have a Basketball court, Volleyball court and inside the Hideaway club they have a pool table. Bathrooms are located outside of the Hideaway bar. You can bring in your own food and entertainment. Large dining area also they have security walking the perimeter checking to make sure no under drinking and no problems. They have an outdoor beer bar and inside the bar full service bar. Lots of parking, there must have been about 300 guest at the graduation party, some picnic tables were furnished, but they also brought in more tables and chairs and set up canopies for food and more seating area. Came here for Thursday night trivia and was shocked by how much they had to offer. On Airsta Barbers Point, it doesn't look like much, but inside it's large with a nice open patio, sand volleyball court, picnic tables, high tops, and a basketball court. Two decent sized restrooms outside around back. Both bartenders were very friendly. Large selection of beer on top and lots of seltzers and bottles in the fridge! Went to a dearly departed dive buddy's celebration of life at the Hideway Club on the Coast Guard Station at Kalaeloa. Located past Nimitz Beach on the formerly known as Barber's Point Naval Air Station, it is a bar that is a throwback to old time military bars. When I worked at Kalaeloa, it is a great place to meet friends and unwind. Hideaway's vibe is very casual with reasonable alcohol prices. Their food is your average frozen bar snacks microwaved or deep fried to serving temperature. We were lucky that they let us bring items to pot luck the celebration of life. I had to give a credit card to open a tab. Of course I forgot my card when I left. Going back the next day, pleasantly surprised to find they were waiting for me to come back. The tab was closed the night prior with the one drink I ordered. No harm, no foul. What a relief! In short, the Hideway Club was a great venue to hold my buddy's celebration of life! This hidden gem is located on the Coast Guard base down in Kapolei. We were so happy it reopened recently! You need your vax card to get in, and at the time of writing masks are not required for people who are fully vaccinated (all DOD instillations I believe). They aren't serving food yet, and their alcohol selection is a bit limited, and even so it is one of the best super chill bar areas that is also kid friendly! This place is top notch. An old Coast Guard helicopter is centered over the bar. The patrons are friendly it's got great outdoor seating and is very kid friendly. The bar was fully stocked and the bar tender was friendly and welcoming. They had a basketball court and beach volleyball court, situated right next to the Coast Guard Air Station you can watch the planes land and take off and enjoy some cool evening air. The Hideaway Club is one of the coolest and most casual bars on Oahu. It's located at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station just south of Kalaeloa Airport near Ewa and Kapolei. You take the road around the airport which leads to many other beaches and follow it to the end, the entrance to the base on the right. At this point, you need military or government ID or someone with one of those to sponsor you to come. There are signs leading you to the club parking area, which is ample and free. The club is a sports bar with all manner of outdoor games; a perfect place to spend a few lazy hours. They have plenty of seating at the bar and inside at high top tables, but the best is the patio and deck seating; they have umbrella tables, built-in benches, sofas and chairs, picnic tables, and a pavilion. The pavilion is available for event rentals. It's a family friendly place with basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, tetherball, dart boards, shuffleboard, and a pool table. All the equipment is kept nice; everything is free or a small fee. The bar itself has the front of an old Coast Guard helicopter above crashing through the wall. They have more than a dozen draft beer choices, with many more bottle and cans. Drink specials are posted on the wall with $2 drafts and $2.50 can choices. They also have a full bar of wines, hard liquor, and mixed drinks. Prices for everything are very reasonable. For Untappd users, they're a Verified Venue and even have a local badge to earn for checking-in beer here, the Hideaway HOOCH! Food choices are standard friend bar food like chicken fingers and fries. We ordered the fish and chips for $10; big pieces of white fish with cris-cut fries; perfect to go with drinks! They also have a BBQ/Pizza truck on the property that is active on certain days at certain times, be sure to ask if you're curious. The feeling here is very different from tourist bars; it's casual and relaxed. You get a great view of the mountains, airport, and coast beyond. read more

This place is a joke, their hours online are different depending on where you look, 90% of food items on their website they don't even serve. Whoever the bar manager is needs to be replaced by someone who cares. Can't even do the simple things of updating their website, it still says the superbowl is just one week away. Lazy or incompetent,either way it's probably the reason why they're constantly having to hire new people. Their management needs replacing by competent people. I was at a party that started at 5:00 and that's the time they scheduled the bartender to be in. Okay we had been here before, it was nice by the looks but VERY windy when we went so we decided to leave and come back a different day. Well....came back today with a larger group and the guard at the front turned us around because we were not military...? Makes no sense since we had been there before with a separate group of people who were also not military and got in just fine. Stopped into The Hideaway Club for their 2019 NYE party because of their dog friendly patio and had a blast! We didn't want to leave our pup at home because of the fireworks so he came with us and was welcome outside. The vibe and decor is super cool. It feels like a secret spot Indiana Jones would frequent right before jumping into a sea plane and onto an adventure. There's an extensive tap, lots of "indoor" and outdoor seating (everything is open air), corn hole, basketball court, and a grassy area for games, and a small bar food menu. It's New Year's Eve! I'm back for a second time with couple of friends. The same ones I showed up on the last day of 2015. This time we are ringing in the new year 2017. This New Year's Eve it is karaoke night. There was even a spot for a photo booth. Actually customers of the Hideaway Club can use the props and take photos with their cellphones and later upload it to a social media. There were some talented singers on karaoke night. Some of the songs I even sang a long since I know the song. Did I stand in front of the screen and hold a mic...nope. I'll save that for the brave folks. I'm here to have some alcoholic beverages. The last ones for 2016. There was even $2.00 shots of Washington apple flavored shots. Yes I got one of those to drink. I even had a Barista chocolate quad ($8.00)...first time having it. My last drink for the night was Don Julio Tequila Sunrise ($7.50). I take that back... champagne to welcome the new year. My friend ordered some appetizers for us to eat. She ordered pizza rolls, onion rings, chicken tenders, and chicken wings. Somehow when I was reaching for a napkin I accidentally knocked my Tequila Sunrise down. I asked one of the bartenders for a rag so I can wipe down my mess. She gave me a rag. It was a nice, chilly, and enjoyable night at The Hideaway Club. Average place. A little inconsistent on drink prices. One bartender charged $10 for a drink and the other $7. No food or snacks. At least have some Costco pretzels or something. There was a guy who was offering burgers and hot dogs but I think it was from their family bbq and they cooked a bunched and he was being friendly. Atmosphere is family-ish with corn hole , a basketball court, and a large open area nearby. Last call on Sunday was at the two minute warning of the football game...yup the sun was still out...lol. If there are over a dozen people still drinking and enjoying I might consider staying open but maybe there are particular rules for being in that location. This little dive bar located on a Coast Guard base its pretty badass. If you're in Hawaii and you have a military ID or have someone who can sponsor you on to a Coast Guard base, then make sure you roll thru here. In here you will find its selection of beer, both craft and standard, as well as bingo and country music. It sort of reminds me of an American Legion. The patrons here are very friendly and will quickly reel you into conversations about Chief Master Sergeant Sullivan. Don't know who he was? Just look up at the helicopter above the bar and start asking questions. Of all the drinking spots I hit while I was in Hawaii, this was probably my favorite. They are an open air bar and family and dog friendly as well The patrons celebrate on football Sunday by bringing a dish and having potluck with everyone - regulars and newcomers. Everyone is treated like family here the drink selection and prices are great. They also have a pool table, darts, volleyball and basketball courts. It is a great environment. Whenever someone comes into visit us from the mainland, this is our first stop to show them our watering hole. And honestly, they ask to go back a few times. I went to this club because a friend of mine was participating in a roller derby tournament that was held on the tennis courts behind it. I had never been to it before and was very pleasantly surprised. This bar is completely open air and just across a small street from the beach. It was cool and shady with TVs showing sports events, a pool table, dart boards, a beach volleyball court out back and even a giant Jenga set. I had brought my kids and a couple of their friends with me to see the roller derby match. They got bored with the roller derby after a while but they had a great time with all the activities that were available. Prices were great and although they didn't have a very large menu of bar food, what they served was hot and delicious. We especially enjoyed their wings. I ordered mild wings because of the kids (and I can't wait to try the spicy ones when I go without them). They were crispy, juicy and burning hot. We had them with ranch dressing which helped to cool them off a little. Basically, they were perfect. The onion rings were excellent as well. They weren't burnt as I have often found them at other places. Rather they were prepared very well to where the breading did not fall off nor did the onion pull out with the first bite. They were excellent. If this bar was closer to home (and if I had a military ID so I could get in easily), I would definitely spend a lot of time here. Great, relaxing atmosphere! Its a really chill spot and totally lives up to it's name as it surely is a hideaway. Love how secluded it is. There is a pool table, darts, a few arcade games, a jukebox, lots of sitting areas, volleyball court w/sand, a basketball court, karaoke on Wednesday nights, tv's throughout the bar, etc. Overall, its a great place (location & amenities), however, the customer service wasn't great at all. Didn't catch her name, but the bartender had zero customer service - didn't make last calls for food, wasn't very welcoming, and she was extremely sassy when one of the guys in our party asked if he could play a quick game on one of the arcade machines...she said, "well, I really should have gotten all of you outta here minutes ago..." Mind you, the place closes at 10 and it was 9:50....she was rude. Will the lack of customer service stop us from returning? Probably not, because the place offers everything you need in a sport's bar, especially with the limited options here in west Oahu. read more

This is the perfect bar to escape to on this side of the island. With lack of bars (most are bars inside restaurants). Plenty of outdoor and bar games to play.
