Owners are slumlords in Yuba City. Take ZERO responsibility for houses with mold, roaches, RATS. I really loved the vanity piece in the Chico paper about how dedicated Janet Balbutin is to 'wellness & health.' Wow - what a colossal joke! She can't even stop by the slum she's renting out and see the sick children that had to live there for years because the family had little money to move. I *did.* I saw the coughing and sickness. I saw the bubbles in the bedroom ceiling when the roof leaked and wasn't patched for months. I saw the black mold, the roaches, the RATS. We went over with cleaning vinegar and vitamin C and told them to "get out when you can." I see the "yard" that is completely infested with spider mites and weeds. I see the plaster patches and paint being slapped over the literal cracks in the exterior of the home. I still see black mold on the outside north face of the home and protruding from the attic vents. I see the rot of all the wood around doors and windows. I've had to hire pest control to stop the roaches from coming over to our property and remediation for the mites multiple times. I saw 3 cars being moved to the street so that the Balbutins could avoid paying for towing themselves. They did the same with shopping carts full of trash - left them at the sidewalk so that the city and the police would have to take care of it instead. In short, I have no idea how the Balbutins have such a stellar reputation in Chico. Here, in Yuba City, their name is scorned and uttered in sentences like, "When is the city going to take that house from Balbutin and tear it down??" "How could a family with all that money make Yuba City deal with their trash?" In fact, a printout of the vanity piece from the Chico paper was given to me by a neighbor with the comment, "Can you believe this? Obviously, they don't care about people at all!" as she nodded toward the slum next door. So, if you don't mind taking medication from people who can't take the time to visit - let alone care for - a property they own in YEARS, go ahead. But I certainly wouldn't risk it! read more

Not only is this a woman-owned business, their service is both superb and respectful. As far as I can tell they are the only pharmacy that offers meds in bubble packs, ie cards that either single pills or daily doses sealed onto them with push-through plastic packaging. So convenient and precise. So glad to have found them! read more

I live on the East coast and my parents live near Paradise. My father recently had a below the knee amputation and I was trying to locate a company that could either rent or purchase a ramp system or lift system to be installed. I did a yellow page search and paradise drug was listed as a resource for medical and mobility equipment/items. I called and the first person simply stated they couldn't help me. My husband did his own search and also called not knowing that I already did. The person he spoke with said that those items are very expensive (DUH) and that they do not have them. So my husband stated that expensive is a relative term and it's needed so perhaps they can refer him to a company that can help. A flat NO was offered. My suggestion is to have a full staff that is trained on great customer service and items that are offered or available according to their advertising. I'd also suggest that some sensitivity training be ongoing as people who are calling regarding medical equipment are usually dealing with an emotional situation as well as practical. Insurance navigation, problem Solving etc... all things a family member goes through. Sometimes we have to handle things from afar before we can be local and hands on. Just be pleasant at the very least. Our money went elsewhere and were treated exceptionally. Should t have been that difficult really. Just transferred all our meds from Walgreens this morning. Amber was great helping with that and getting a script filled. After years of Walgreens, I was surprised to get the new script done in minutes vs hours to days. They also seem to be cheaper than Walgreens, oddly enough. Everyone in the store was friendly and ready to help as people walked into the store. I can't wait to try out their delivery service! And, it's a local business, so I'm feeling really good about the switch. read more

They assisted me with a thorny issue after mother lost her doctor post-fire. They did it cheerfully, even though we're stuck using a pharmacy closer to my mother's new residence now (which they knew), and so quickly that they shocked us both in a very happy way. They were always great when my mother lived in Paradise. This was above their call of duty. I would trust them implicitly, anyone who gets to choose them!! read more

Absolutely the best customer service! And so kind and helpful. I came in with my senior neighbor to help her get her refill changes from a list the local clinic doctor made and gave her, and boy, did they make MAJOR errors in listing the right medications for her! MAJOR! But sweet Amber saw our confusion and came right over and just jumped in and took control and spent much of her valuable time on the phone to straighten it all out. Then writing up a simple list for my neighbor to understand and take with her. Now how great is that? Can't get much better can you? The wiliness of this small pharmacy to help like that makes them so special above the big chain guys. They even gave me a courtesy call to let me know all was straightened out for my neighbor. WOW.
