It's a sham to call yourself an art gallery, these guys are rip off artists. This is not something that happens by mistake. A print shop KNOWS whether they have an artists consent (and contract) to reproduce their work. Poster Scene can pretend to be about art but what they are really about is stealing from the artists who are trying to make a humble living for themselves. Reproducing an image that an artist has created and may be doing a limited run of not only devalues the artists work, but it takes important buyers away from the creator who really depends on making every dollar they possibly can for their creations. Sadly a lot of people have messaged me to let me know they bought "my poster." These people are fans of MY work and thinking they are doing something to support and appreciate me, when the unfortunate truth is they are contributing to shady lowlifes who have no respect for what goes into making a living in the arts. I don't fault anyone who goes and buys a piece of illegally reproduced art but if you are a fan of art- the safe bet is always to buy DIRECTLY from the creator (artist or band) that you want to support. Lotsa fake middlemen out there!

So many books and records... and amazing furniture, artwork and decorative accents to make your home one of a kind. My favorite space was the basement-level listening lounge. Such a vibe!! The prices were varied... some were bargains, and some had higher price tags. I feel all were fair and I appreciated the laid back, no-pretense, we-trust-you atmosphere. The recommendation here is not to wander aimlessly to quick overwhelming but isolate a certain subject matter or media type of interest and ask for recommendations to find your gem(s) and feel good about the hunt as you leave with them. Second, this is a very small, private-ownership establishment and not a large, corp chain like B&N, It is run a certain way (it appears disorganized but is really not), has some respecting rules (don't bring in drinks or be a clueless dufus and take a photo of a book you like and shop it cheaper elsewhere) and relies on genuine, curious, vintage-loving customers to support this old-fashioned but charming type of store. It is really for serious vintage-hunters, not so much (or room for) random museum lookers. Sooo, not the place to buy the latest releases for less. Just saying so you know the (sub-)terrain here. This was a fun find in Nederland…read more I've been a vinyl junkie for years and have slipped off the beaten path over the last few years. This was the necessary kick in the pants I needed. My wife and I were enjoying a nice walk around town and as soon as I saw a record store (in this tiny town, no less) I knew I had hit the jackpot. It's a small shop, though it packs a punch. They were undergoing some maneuvering and restocking on this particular day, so they have an even larger more robust collection than what I happened to see. I always let the record store guide me to ear porn enlightenment. I enjoy many genres of music, but when I visit a shop I read the room and let the music do the talking. Which led me to the reissued release of High On Fire's "Art of Self Defense' a cult classic in the stoner metal realm. Picked it up and bought it on the spot. The employee was super kind and down to earth. I spent a good chunk of time sifting through records, but knew my wife would kill me if I spent too much time in there. Now I get to add a wonderful record store to my Nederland excursions. Consider me a happy camper!

Since we walked in to when we left, the people here are the prime example of customer service. Great job guys! There are a ton of new and used puzzles, board games, records, etc here. The prices are in between a thrift store and places that only sell new stuff if that makes sense? Especially if you're looking for board games, you would really enjoy this place. There were so many here that I have never heard of before. I got a used puzzles here for $7! I look forward to coming back here and browsing around!

Records I haven't seen in the wild for many years, actually, and hundreds that I'd like to have for my collection if I were independently wealthy. The prices may be a bit more than you'd pay if you used Discogs, eBay or Amazon, but hey, you don't have to wait for it to be shipped to you. If you can't handle a bit of markup you should probably stick to online shopping. There is something to be said for being able to see the condition of both the sleeve and vinyl of used records, however. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I visit here, and my 17 year old son almost always finds something he wants to buy here. The selection is incredible; they literally have every genre a vinyl collector could hope for. I believe you'd have to make the drive to Denver to find a comparable record store.

Even as my second time here in the last 4 years I was happy to see Twist & Shout made MORE room for vinyl selections and browsing space. You still have other media too include DVDs (rare and hard to find selections), CDs, cassettes, and unique and local gifts and items. Take some time to look around here even up and down the walls. There is a really cool yellow Bruce Springsteen marquee in the sell/buy area. We spent over an hour here browsing and I walked out with two vinyl albums I had on my "Must-Have" list of analog music. Great and fair pricing on their "Used" records but to be honest all music is priced fairly. Really cool location with friendly service from the staff. If you have any questions on where things are or on the thing(s) you are looking for don't hesitate to ask! Also go over to the free publication area (at the exit) and check out all of the cool (and free) postcards from Twist & Shout along with flyers and freebies promoting any upcoming art, music shows, upcoming albums, and whatnot.

Flippant, Dishonest, and Deeply Disrespectful Buying Experience and the records are overpriced…read more I have shopped here in the past and based on the high prices of the used records, I assumed my used records would sell at fair market value here but this was not the case. I brought in a curated stack of clean, high‑demand records and was met with one of the most disrespectful experiences I have ever had. The buyer behind the counter was openly flippant, dismissive, and acted like I had no idea what I was bringing in. His attitude alone set the tone -- rushed, condescending, and completely uninterested in treating me with respect. I think it takes longer than five minutes to look at the quality and condition of 30 records. He opened with a lowball offer that did not match the titles, rarity or the condition, and when I questioned it, he said "records not selling" while we are standing in a store literally packed with people buying vinyl. It was insulting, and it was clearly meant to make me feel like I should be grateful for whatever lowball number he threw out. The moment I pushed back and asked for my records back, his offer suddenly jumped up but still well under a fair trade. That tells you everything about their honesty and ethics. It was not about fair value -- it was about seeing what they could get away with - how low they could lowball. To top it off, they paid with a check instead of cash, which made the whole thing feel even more disrespectful, inconvenient, and dismissive. In hindsight, I wish I had taken my records back but I was so disoriented by the disrespect and clerk behavior. And it made me realize why I never sell or trade records. If you care about being treated with basic respect or honesty, take your business somewhere else. I will never buy anything from this disreputable unethical establishment. And you should not either. This is not a mom and pop business but a business operating without integrity exploiting its customers.
