The most incompetent business and employees I have ever encountered! I made an in store purchase to be shipped as a gift (they advertise shipping) and almost 2 weeks later it has not been shipped. I have called the store numerous times, left messages for the owner 3 times, sent 3 emails to the website and not one person has contacted me with any information on whether this package will ever be shipped. These guys stole my work (the cover of The Ween Coloring Book) and made prints of it to sell without my involvement or permission. I have heard these guys have ripped off a lot of artists. It's a sham to call yourself an art gallery, these guys are rip off artists. This is not something that happens by mistake. A print shop KNOWS whether they have an artists consent (and contract) to reproduce their work. Poster Scene can pretend to be about art but what they are really about is stealing from the artists who are trying to make a humble living for themselves. Reproducing an image that an artist has created and may be doing a limited run of not only devalues the artists work, but it takes important buyers away from the creator who really depends on making every dollar they possibly can for their creations. Sadly a lot of people have messaged me to let me know they bought "my poster." These people are fans of MY work and thinking they are doing something to support and appreciate me, when the unfortunate truth is they are contributing to shady lowlifes who have no respect for what goes into making a living in the arts. I don't fault anyone who goes and buys a piece of illegally reproduced art but if you are a fan of art- the safe bet is always to buy DIRECTLY from the creator (artist or band) that you want to support. Ok, this place is cool! DJ friend of mine was in town from Vegas and stumbled across this place with his parents. Knowing he could spend significant time there, the two of us came back the next day. So many fun posters! Some with a hefty price tag (I'm looking at you South Park themed Ween poster I wish I could have) but many more reasonably priced. Friend got a couple new additions for display in his music room. I unexpectedly loved a Big Gigantic poster. It was more than I was willing to spend, but I found a smaller less expensive version on BG's website. Along with concert posters they have movie & Colorado-themed posters. Also have albums for sale. I saw bumper stickers for cars such as Angelica from the Rutgers 1999 television show. This is such a college thing and in the middle of a college town, so I expected to see lots of millennials get their hands on some cool products here. Way to support small businesses. $35-100$ on all posters and jumbo size too. There are constant discounts being implemented and that's really cool. I really like their taste on selection. Never been inside a post store before. But, they had really cool stuff not just posters, but also records. Since I have never bought a record I had to find the right one. Sifting through crates, I finally found the perfect one. The Beatles - Hey Jude. The ship is clean and well kept. I used to collect posters, but now don't have the wall space at home. Guy at check out was calm and friendly. Since I'm not sure how much records cost, I felt it was it was a bit much. But, I could be wrong. What else can I say but: Buy your posters HERE!!! I was looking for rare Donny Hathaway memorabilia for my boyfriend for Christmas. He's like the biggest Donny fan there is. A week before Christmas I found PosterScene's only vintage 1971 Donny Hathaway newspaper ad for his debut album. I called to make sure they still had it in stock and they told me they were making shipments daily for the holiday. I was so excited. I placed the order that day! Only problem was, due to the holiday season USPS Priority Mail wasn't so priority. By Tuesday of the next week (when Priority timing said it would be due), I didn't have my order. I called PosterScene and was assured it was mailed. The next day, still no luck so I emailed PosterScene. Mara replied almost instantly and explained due to the holiday things may be slow at USPS but she was hopeful it would arrive in time. I got so nervous I emailed again for tracking information or anything to help find the package. And again, Mara replied kindly and patiently. By Thursday morning I was a wreck. Christmas was Saturday which only left one day to get it framed! But again, Mara was so kind and helpful. I even think she may have said a prayer or two for me! Finally, my poster arrived late Thursday morning! I can't tell you what GOOD, customer service does for a nervous and impatient customer. It wasn't PosterScene's fault USPS was being slow but they upheld their duty to be as the merchant to be helpful and as responsive as possible. It doesn't matter where you are, ORDER from them! You will NOT be disappointed. My poster arrived in a neat little tube and in perfect condition! I got it framed in the nick of time and my boyfriend LOVED it! Super cool little shop up in Boulder. If you're a fan of posters, vinyl, or just pop culture in general, then you're bound to find something that you enjoy here at PosterScene. I stopped in to check out their record selection, and I'll admit, they had a decent selection going on. Some of it was a little bit pricey in my opinion, but I was able to sift through and find a few gems. They've got a ton of posters in stock though. If you're looking for something to hang on your wall, you probably won't have to look any further if you pay this place a visit. Definitely a cool and unique little shop in Boulder. Stopped in PosterScene to browse while walking up and down Pearl St. in Boulder. I will keep this short and sweet. While PosterScene had some great posters from shows in the Boulder area or around Colorado, some of the prices were a bit up there for the framed pieces. They do give you the option of single posters for $6 (various sizes) or 4 posters for $20 which isn't bad. I don't think I saw a single framed piece for under $75, no matter the size. The guy working didn't really say much, just kept his head down and kept plugging away at whatever he was working on. Nice place, but you're better off getting an unframed piece and framing it yourself or taking it to another store to get framed. read more

The Door was open so me and My Cousin wandered in. They Have posters for just about everything you could imagine. And the Prices Vary from a few bills in my wallet, to I need a 2nd Mortgage on my home. Posters are on the walls in frames and on the floor in racks unframed. They even have referrals to places that will frame it for you. The employee working was very nice and personable. We didn't know he was closed and didn't have a chance to close the doors. The majority of posters I found inside PosterScene were movie and concert pieces. They have a good spectrum of stuff, and I easily found a small Avenged Sevenfold poster for the boy at $6. They only had 1 Ralph Steadman poster available (a large one for $15), from Fear & Loathing of course, and online there are a few (4) more that can be ordered. Unsurprisingly, posters are arranged by band name, movie title, etc. I say this only because I have a thing for Chantry's flyers, and you'd have to scour the store & know what to look for to find his stuff. (That said, I don't think they have any of his work) You'll find almost any rock variant you can think of, from punk to metal to classic to contemporary pop & alternative. read more

They at least get one star because their poster selection was awesome and touch on all music genres. This bad review is because of the woman who worked there. Normally cool places like this are fun and inviting, but not with that employee on duty. Me and my friends were looking for a poster for my friend's new apartment. In browsing the posters, my friend and I would pull up the posters we thought would fit her place, and after saying no to some, we would put it back exactly where we found it. The employee there never said anything to us, no "hello" or "let me know if you need help finding something". After finally finding a good poster to buy, we took it out of the stack and to the counter where the woman (young, black shoulder length hair with straight bangs) sat. Instead of ringing us up, she got up, left the counter (where we stood waiting to pay), went back to the section we were in, and inspected the posters to see if any needed re-filing as if we had trespassed and rummaged through her personal belongings. After confirming everything was just how we found it, she rang us up with an attitude, as if she hated being at work. I also suspect it was her bad attitude that caused her to grab the poster as if rushed and bothered, which resulted in a crease that her thumb's death grip caused (which sucks for a $35 poster). I can see why we were the only customers in the store. She probably made sure to make it a slow day so she can sit and do nothing. We had contemplated not making the purchase, but the poster was just too good. My advice: Since the posters sell their self, maybe they can convert the store into a big vending machine. read more

I visited this store on Sunday with my teen nephew and niece. We walked through the shop, initially looking for a poster for my nephew's room. We didn't find anything however, he was having a free poster sale outside. We finished walking the mall and on our way out stopped at the free bins to take a look. Walking up to the bins, there were a mother and son browsing the bins, unsupervised. However, when we started going through the bins, the owner, BRYCE HALL, came outside to "watch" us during our browsing session. My nephew found some stuff, all free 8.5x17" prints (cheap prints, hence the reason they were free) including one of Tupac Shakur. He and my niece discussed whether they're friends would like one and decided to the 2 or 3 that were left in the sleeve and also use the sleeve to hold the posters that they chose prior. Suddenly, the owner, BRYCE HALL, frantically made his way over to us, snatched the 2 cent plastic sleeve out of my 15 year old nephews hand and told us that tubes were available for sale inside the store and that those particular Tupac posters "weren't supposed to even be in the free bin." He then went inside his establishment, shaking his head in disapproval as if we were trying to steal the "FREE" merchandise in the bins labeled "FREE." After assuring the owner, BRYCE HALL, that we were NOT trying to steal his FREE merchandise and assuring him we were more than willing to pay the 2 cents it would cost for a plastic sleeve, and exchanging some choice words, he told me I had a "stick up my a**" and demanded me to "get the F outta here" as if we, brown citizens shopping in Boulder, didn't belong there. I intend on issuing a formal complaint with the Downtown Boulder Partnership, Boulder City Council and anyone else who will listen. My partner and his family are longtime residents of Boulder and also business owners of stores on that very mall. Shame on this little man for being so small minded and I will work my damnedest to make sure he loses business of everyone I know and everyone I come in contact with. I will continue to support Pearl Street Mall and will NEVER give this sad little man my patronage. read more

I never write yelp reviews but I was visiting from out of town and wandered in. I was with my friends looking for a poster (with the intention to buy). First off the only employee (young girl with a dark bob and a bad attitude) was super rude. When we went to the front to check out she walked in front of us and walked directly to the poster area we had Been browsing in and began rearranging as if we had made a mess (which we didn't) AND then checked us out. Great posters but this employee needs a serious attitude adjustment especially when all she did the whole time was stand behind the counter brooding. read more

I recently ordered some Furthur posters for my dad for Christmas and they didn't have the one I really wanted online. I got an e-mail from Mara saying she was sorry that they were out but would be happy to find me some other ones. I found a lot of them that I wanted and she shipped them out 1 day shipping which arrived before Christmas. I got the three posters I wanted and when I opened it up there were some extra promotional items in there as well!!! I am extremely satisfied not only with the quality of the posters but the professionalism and passion that Mara displayed throughout my whole ordering process.
