Great location and decent parking nearby. They have a decent variety of tunes. I loved how they had it set up. I've been to some stores and you barely have anymore or organization to browse. I found a few gems to add to my collection. Whenever I'm out or tien I try to makw a purchase and I was happy to find 4 new albums. I do feel they were a little higher in proce then some other vinyl stores I've visited.

Pretty strong Amoeba/Streetlight feel here. Wax Trax has a New and Used-Trader store on both ends of the building to cover a variety of music tastes--streamline radio, alternative at the corner front and hip-hop singles, 70s-80s-90s rock at the other end's what I found. As long as you keep your Notes lists in alphabetical order you shouldn't have any issues finding what you need. They keep their NEWs in pristine display; felt kinda bad I almost knocked a heavy boxset to the floor -___-".

This was an okay spot. My fiancé is really into record collecting but he likes his record to be in very high quality condition. We found wax trax to be a cool place to see and stop by but we didn't feel super motivated to purchase any records based on the high quality condition my fiancé usually looks for. I say everyone should stop by here at some point just for the nostalgia factor. Or if you are okay with older records

Between the new and used records, I'm pretty sure you can find what you are looking for. You could probably find something you aren't looking for as well. They have all sizes, so if you're looking for a 45 your chances are pretty good. Highly organized and labeled clearly (although the print on some of the dividers is small) makes it really easy to find things. Read the dividers because the descriptions are both informative and sometimes hilariously accurate. Record prices are good considering everyone has decided to become a vinyl collector in the past few years. Also check the backroom for super discount records (not always in tip-top shape) CD's and cassettes. Staff is nice and not pretentious. Also check out the merch in the back! It is super cheap!

Variety of the awesome records we found!

One of the best record stores I've ever been too. They have such a wide selection to choose from and they are all priced super reasonably! We bought almost 8 records to take back home with us and we have not been disappointed. Great and diverse options! Loved it.

    My finds!

I think this is the best vinyl stores in the Denver area. You can find gems in the used section and also new Vinyl too. I try to get here at least once a month. If I go more then that I will spend to much money. I like how they handle record store day. they are prepped but they don't appear to go crazy corporate marketing for it. Keep it up guys!

Great record store. The new and used selection is absolutely massive. Friendly staff and great wide variety.

It's like being a kid in the candy store, except this candy is some serious vinyl. The variety is incredible. I've been coming to Wax since the day I had my first paycheck in hand. I can find picture vinyl, demos, rare releases and even an old 8-track. Better selection than Angelo's and way more fun to browse through. I love how the manager keeps inventory in a spiral notebook....the old school way, but it works!Name a band and the staff knows what has been released and what is in stock. Quite the brilliant crew! Long live Rock n Roll!

Rare highly desirable Junko vinyl. With sleeve and cover In great condition.

Plenty of new interesting records. Next time I will look for more progressive rock type music. Fun to see MOFI stuff as well.

Ask the Community - Wax Trax Records

Is the online site reliable? It was the only place i could find Dead Man's Party available for other than backorder. It seemed a little odd?

These guys are well-organized and have a massive inventory, but no database is perfect. Call them to confirm availability: 303-831-7246.

How far is Wax Trax Records to Mission Ballroom?

    3.4 miles, 12 minutes driving.

I have a lifetime collection of vinyl records. Will Wax Trax buy them from me?

If they are in condition and are desirable titles, yes!

Their used section puts most stores to shame let alone the racks upon racks of cool hard to find CDS, Lps and DVDS.

What a cool place to explore! 11000 square feet of it! First time here. The amount of vinyl…read morerecords they have at Twist & Shout is impressive. Along with CDs, DVDs, and merchandise. The staff is friendly and helpful to answer all of my questions. I reflected on all the cool vinyl albums that I've had in past and at Twist & Shout you can relive them & purchase them. Their selection is so vast that I believe you would find what you are looking for. I came to see if they wanted any of my old CDs. They did take some of them and I received store credit! Free parking is available in the back. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed! Who knew that they have been around since 1988 and it all began with 2 English teachers purchasing the store at an auction. Oh and check out the food trucks across the street on Saturday's before 1 pm!

Flippant, Dishonest, and Deeply Disrespectful Buying Experience and the records are overpriced…read more I have shopped here in the past and based on the high prices of the used records, I assumed my used records would sell at fair market value here but this was not the case. I brought in a curated stack of clean, high‑demand records and was met with one of the most disrespectful experiences I have ever had. The buyer behind the counter was openly flippant, dismissive, and acted like I had no idea what I was bringing in. His attitude alone set the tone -- rushed, condescending, and completely uninterested in treating me with respect. I think it takes longer than five minutes to look at the quality and condition of 30 records. He opened with a lowball offer that did not match the titles, rarity or the condition, and when I questioned it, he said "records not selling" while we are standing in a store literally packed with people buying vinyl. It was insulting, and it was clearly meant to make me feel like I should be grateful for whatever lowball number he threw out. The moment I pushed back and asked for my records back, his offer suddenly jumped up but still well under a fair trade. That tells you everything about their honesty and ethics. It was not about fair value -- it was about seeing what they could get away with - how low they could lowball. To top it off, they paid with a check instead of cash, which made the whole thing feel even more disrespectful, inconvenient, and dismissive. In hindsight, I wish I had taken my records back but I was so disoriented by the disrespect and clerk behavior. And it made me realize why I never sell or trade records. If you care about being treated with basic respect or honesty, take your business somewhere else. I will never buy anything from this disreputable unethical establishment. And you should not either. This is not a mom and pop business but a business operating without integrity exploiting its customers.

Unfortunately, since those…read moreare two largely-dead niche markets anymore (RIP MediaPlay and Hastings/TradeSmart), this largely caters to younger crowds who probably don't want to sort through racks upon racks of treasures for those last few DVDs you need to complete your Tom Cruise movie collection or replace that season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has a scratched disc. So the stock isn't fantastic, and the deals are mostly "hey, we marked this higher than you'll see it outside the mall then marked it down so the 'sale' price is actually the fair price anyone else would charge." Still, it's nice to see a shop that stocks vinyl without specifically *specializing* in it. Thirty-nine dollars for a fairly common Sabbath album is kinda high, though. They have a "save a percentage with membership" program but for some unknown reason, it also involves magazine subscriptions, on which you can also save(?)! I asked about it (since they had a sign to ask how to save) but I've seen so many "save on newsstand prices!" magazine scams masquerading as programs trying to sell me something they think I want (read: magazines) that I tuned out before the register monkey had finished the shpiel about how much it would cost up front versus how much off our purchases we'd actually save, let alone how much I'd be paying for magazines, apparently. So we still got some stuff, a couple seasons of Castle we didn't have and the Hobbit Extended Edition three-pack that we couldn't find at Best Buy. They probably would have also sold out of it if they tried selling popular movies instead of membership magazine programs, so guess I'm lucky in that regard.

This store scams people through a membership program that they pretend is a free rewards program…read more They get your credit card information through your purchase and then save it in their systems to charge you again and again. Not only that they also purposely misspelled my name and email by adding in random letters so I could not receive benefits or know about the subscription unless checking my bank statements. I only found out after getting a letter about an increase in the membership fee. I tried to get a refund but they said they couldn't due to the "terms and conditions" that I never even had the ability to agree to.
