Walked in store and the people could not control the line out the door, we got served by a bigger lady with an attitude right off the bat, she was asking questions about every order in my party, I asked for a regular waffle cone and in response was given a lot of attitude and questioned if I really wanted the "homemade or regular" and held them up in my face to confirm. We also ordered the citrus bliss sherbet and said "it's not citrus bliss, it's only orange" and belittled what I ordered. Not only was the service not great but also the price of 2 smalls, 1 medium, and a milkshake that was not even full...! was $30. You might think it is expensive but for the size scoop and the quality of the ice cream it is not expensive. Stopped by for ice cream after dinner since it was on our way home. Three employees were working: two females who were very welcoming, and one male. I wanted mint ice cream in a waffle cone but was told it was too hard to scoop, yet the customer before me received it without issue. When my husband asked about a military discount, the male employee at the register responded unprofessionally, saying the owner didn't like military members he worked with before, so no discount was offered. We went to the Italian cousin and then for a walk along the river. After our walk, we were ready for an ice cream. We went to Paradise Ice Cream which was visible from the water. I had a scoop of Butter Pecan in a peanut and chocolate waffle cone. The ice cream was very creamy and buttery. The pecans were firm and crunchy not soft and soggy like they are at other venues. Also, they did not have any bitterness like some other venues. My daughter had the Cookie Dough ice cream. She said it was delicious. I could see large chunks of cookie as you was gobbling it up. WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS Went kayaking in Sebastian with my boyfriend and all we wanted was some ice cream so we went to paradise where we've both been plenty of times. The lady working there didn't even greet us and just stared at us waiting for us to order. We got the double brownie sundae. The "hot fudge" wasn't working so she used a ladle to put cold thick chocolate on it then proceeded so smear it with the same spoon she gave us to eat it with. There was a very little amount of ice cream and The brownies were not warmed. There was minimal whipped cream. She also only gave us one spoon and one cherry when you could clearly tell it was for two people. I kindly went in and asked for a refund because this was not a $9 ice cream. She got very defensive and told me there was no refunds and suggested to throw it away if we didn't like it. The customer service was terrible and I didn't even touch my ice cream. We ended up going somewhere else for ice cream and will continue to in the future. RECOMMENDED ICE CREAM: pops ice cream (same wholesale ice cream) or train depot. I tried this place for the first time two weeks back, and while I wasn't blown away by any means, the experience was fine enough to return, particularly because my 4-year-old daughter enjoyed it. Well, I went back again this past weekend, and I can no longer view this place favorably after this second visit, due to the vile woman who was working. My daughter--at just a ripe 4 years of age--is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She speaks to me only in Spanish, because this is the expectation I have established in our household. Upon realizing that we were conversing in Spanish, the wretched woman, for some unfathomable reason, decided that it would not be uncouth to make a crass, racist remark about my young child, saying, "she's just going on saying she really wants her borders crossed!". I can't wrap my head around why someone would deem it at all appropriate or socially acceptable to make an ignorant remark of this style to a complete stranger in the first place. However, it is downright appalling and inexcusable that someone would dare to do so in reference to an innocent minor child. You should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves. At the end of the day, my child's multilingualism is a gift--and with the exception of having to be subjected to such nastiness, like in this incident at "Paradise Ice Cream"--it is something that will greatly benefit her in life. It is a sign of her high level of intelligence and education--clearly something that the classless woman behind the counter knows absolutely nothing about. read more
