Before I start the review I have a fun fact to share. Before I visited Pateidolia Brewing in Vero Beach Florida, I looked at some pictures and read some reviews. I don't usually read the reviews for breweries because I want to give an honest review based on my experience. But what drew me in is all the pictures of the draft board seemed out of focus and weirdly lit. I chalked that up to maybe not cleaning off the camera lense before taking the pictures, but what I found was quite the opposite. When I took my picure I also couldn't get a good shot. A little blurry and maybe slightly out if focus. And what I found is the place is fairly dark inside until your eyes get acclaimatted. And the way they have the menu board lit, there is a glare which makes all the photos of the beer menu board come out weird. I took multiple photos and finally settle on the best one, but it also wasn't great. So onto the review. It is small inside and has outiside seating. But what they lack in size, they make up in personality. Pareidolia is a little brewery with a big personality to match the name. Got to connect with the beertenders on duty Les and Kelly. Sorry guys if I misspelled your names, but you guys were awesome. I kept calling them Mel and Stacy, no reason why, but I did finally learn their names about the same time as I really started loving their wonderful beer. And another fun fact is their brewer is a lady. I am very partial to women who brew beer, because I feel like they do something a little extra that men don't. But that is a feeling or my own personal bias. So there is that. They have food here, but the food seemed more like an afterthought or a remnant of Covid where you had to have food at your brewery just to survive. We tried the Hawaiian flat bread. It was closer to frozen pizza with some extra toppings. But didn't come here to eat, and the beer was so great it over ruled any issues I might have had with the food. The BEER: 32956 Zip Code Hazt IPA 6.7% ABV... this has layers and they are all delicious Citra Surfer Hazy IPA 6.5% ABV... I really like this... clean and awesome Half Buzzed Hybrid Session IPA 5% ABV... I am not a fan of West Coast hops, I got a lot of grapefruit rind and a little dank happiness Chippy Throwdown Irish Red 5.2% ABV... I can so taste the rye and am loving how smooth it is Seeing Things ESB 5.6% ABV... easy drinking and crushable, a good English Special Bitter Slow Paddle Porter 5.2% ABV... it was a Porter Mermaid Belgian Blonde 5.6% ABV... Belgian, slightly hop forward, this is not light, it has layers of flavor and is just a tad boozy On my trip to Vero Beach I tried four breweries. Pareidolla was my first visit and I can honestly say it was the best. The beer was awesome. Next time I return it will be my first stop. read more

Came here 2 nights in a row on vacation. First night just a couple beers. Next night we had food and listened to Open Mic. The food was REALLY GOOD! Stopped in after a long run and this place treated me way better than I deserved. I started with a Coastal Crush Blonde Ale, which is basically Florida in a glass. Light, smooth, a touch of pineapple, and dangerously easy to drink. After that I grabbed an Unruly Amber Ale. That one hit me with toasted malt, a little caramel, and enough bite to wake up my taste buds. Solid beer. No notes. For food I went with the Smokey Black Bean panini and wow it surprised me. Smokey, a little spicy, and packed with flavor. The chipotle ranch ties the whole thing together. Plus they give you hummus and chips on the side, so you feel like you're snacking and eating a whole meal at the same time. Win. The vibe here is great. Indoor seating, outdoor seating, people just chilling, dogs hanging out, locals talking like everyone knows everyone. Super easy to relax here. Overall, Pareidolia just gets it. Good beer, good food, friendly service, and a vibe that makes you want to stay a little longer than you planned. Definitely coming back. read more

What a surprise this was! Our server Les was wonderful. The guys wanted beers but when I asked for a shandy he asked what it was and then made it happen ( half beer/ half sprite). The beer was fantastic as usual. The atmosphere was loungey and quaint. I know, loungey is not a real word. The roasted turkey pesto panini was pretty good. The meat lovers flatbread was just ok. The bread was not as crispy as I usually like it and the ingredients didn't seem to infuse together. All the ingredients tasted like individual ingredients. That being said, you don't really go here for the food. You go here for the beer and the beer is very good. Do not pass this place up when you are in Sebastian. read more

**INITIAL REVIEW** For those who don't know, the definition for "Pareidolia" is is a psychological phenomenon that causes people to see a familiar object or structure in a random or ambiguous visual pattern. This is often expressed when people see faces in everyday things, such as "the man on the moon." With that in mind, I have no idea how that definition equates to this awesome brewery, but everything else they have is great. I came in to Pareidolia Brewing Company - which I will shorthand simply to Pareidolia for the remainder of this review - after I finished an adventure which included the TurtleTrax turtles of Indian River County and Geocaching. Besides being a connoisseur of beer which I must gamify with the Untappd App, I am visiting numerous breweries, distilleries, cideries, vineyards, and meaderies through the Treasure Coast Wine, Ale, and Spirits Trail. Though I have had brews made by Pareidolia before, I never had them in their taproom/Brew House/brewery. Since I was passing by, I thought it would be best to stop by and check-in to "Sebastian's first brewery." Though the address is provided, Pareidolia is located in what I like to call the high-life section of Sebastian. You can probably call it "Historic Downtown Sebastian" as well. Anyways, it is one block north of Riverview Park, the location of many of Sebastian's community events. For you history buffs out there, Pareidolia is in the building that used to be the Sebastian Post Office. It is in the midst of Island Root Kava Bar, Smokin' Bungalow, Angler's Inn (been wanting to stay there just for the novelty of it), and the Sebastian River & Inlet Fishing Charters (where the Portside Pub and Grille is located, too). Before entering their taproom, you'll pass by their outdoor seating which I assume is their version of a biergarten, highlighted by a mural painted by Jodie Baldanza as part of the Sebastian Mural Trail. Upon entering the taproom, you will be greeted by the tacky brewhouse wonderlore I have come to love seeing. In short, brew/alcohol related stickers everywhere, artwork that fits the setting, and memes galore. There weren't many patrons in at the time as it was a little past 2 p.m., ergo, the day drinkers like me are the ones here. Only difference is I like tables while everyone else sat at the bar. I was assisted by Taylor, one of two bartenders working at the time. She helped me in choosing a brew (only one because I had another brewery to log in for the trail) and some food. The brew I got had a pretentiously long name, "It's Not a Party Until Someone Plays the Kazoo." It was a tart sour with a bit of tropical sweetness with ripened mango and milk sugar. It wasn't too sweet but very good. Definitely tasted like a sour but the mango was very minute. As for food, I got the mahi dip because it is imported from Mrs. Peters Smokehouse down in Jensen Beach, in which all their fish dips are amazing. It came with soda crackers, jalapenos, and chopped onion. It was peculiar they provided a knife for the dip but no spoon for the jalapenos and chopped onion. You know how annoying it is to "scoop" onions on a knife side? I also had their rustic flatbread pizza, the Margherita style. It was lacking, but maybe it is because they used sliced tomatoes instead of the traditional crushed canned tomatoes. On a sidenote: the men's restroom is clean and stocked, and there is a little shelve you can place your beer on while doing your business. I mean, I am sure some patrons take their beer wherever they go in Pareidolia, including the white porcelain throne. Ultimately, this was an excellent visit to Pareidolia. I will definitely be back to try more of their brews and even give their other food choices a chance. For my initial visit, I will give Pareidolia three in a half stars out of five, but since Yelp doesn't allow me to do partial star ratings, I will round up to the nearest star for four out of five. If Pareidolia is "better" than my initial rating or if they stay consistent in subsequent visits, they'll earn their fifth star and I'll update my rating. read more

A serendipitous find next to our air bnb in Sebastian. They have an extensive list of quality home brews such as the 32958 Zip Code Hazy IPA, the Low Hum Cream Ale, Aprilicious Apricot 2xIPA, and the No Comprende Mexican Lager to name a few. The Smoked Fish Dip with Jalapeño and Crackers was excellent as was the Veggie Panini and Poutine. We had to look up the origin of the Pareidolia word and it's a funny one; "The perception of a recognizable image or meaningful pattern where none exists or is intended, as the perception of a face in the surface features of the moon." Ironically, our experience was that Pareidolia Brewing was the real thing, no mirage here. read more

This is one of our favorite breweries on the Treasure Coast! Pareidolia isn't close by, but we do enjoy driving up to Sebastian for a stop-in! Located about a block away from the beautiful Indian River is a cute little brewery with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are many tables inside, as well as a large bar that seats about 15. We always sit at the bar- we just prefer to! They have stouts, sours, IPA options galore, and many other great beer selections. My husband and I love these IPAs! Overcrowded is absolutely my favorite - and even better that they sell cans of it! We really enjoy their other IPA options as well- Galaxy Skate, a hazy one, Zip Code, and a couple of more. I love that they have many choices for hop heads like myself. They also have some noteworthy stouts as well. I am by no means a Stout expert, but these are drinkable and smooth for my taste. They have a pretty large food menu, although we've only once had their loaded tots. They were delicious and had great toppings, including a great cheesy beer sauce. We usually make the most of our drive to Sebastian by stopping for lunch at other places so nothing against the food here. Service has always been super friendly and fast when ordering and interacting with the bar staff. We enjoy the beer, especially the IPAs, so we'll keep coming back for more! read more

Off of US1 in Sebastian, it's really not that far off of the road... The brewery from the outside is visually appealing, maybe even stunning - though small, it is beautifully architected and has a nice beach theme (without being tacky) that I have ever seen. Inside it has a nice lite, mood lighting, and this place it as beautiful on the inside as it out. The vibe was spot on with plenty of jawing with the bartenders and a couple of the locals, who were very helpful on what to pair the free tiramisu piece of cake we were given the moment we bellied up. Loved this brewery in Sebastian! Surprisingly was the best food we had all weekend! The Italian panini and fish dip were incredible. As far as the side for the panini definitely the potato salad over the macaroni, although both were good. Excellent service and quaint environment. Good selection of craft beers. I enjoyed the Athena's grace watermelon & basil Kolsch, San Sebastián peach vanilla Berliner Weisse, and the Mel's gold ale. This is a really cool place. Went for the first time and enjoyed the atmosphere, ease of parking, and of course the brews! What was interesting to me, is how they make all of their beers taste "light". I mean, I had porters, IPA's, and other traditionally "heavy" beers, and they make them taste light. Small brewery but big flavor! They have multiple beers available and we sampled a few before ultimately ending up with he Howdy y'all. It's light and perfect for a hot day. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We choose to sit outside which gives you a peek-a-boo views of the inlet. We were there around 12:30pm on a Wednesday and there was a good amount of traffic going in and out. We imagine it gets busier after 4pm. Covid notes: Staff are wearing mask, mask are required for entry and anytime you are walking in a area. We had heard about Pareidolia, trying to pronounce it correctly without butchering it like a pig in a slaughterhouse. On a tour of the breweries in the Treasure Coast area, we made a stop at this brewery, located in an old post office building -- and around the block from Mash Monkeys Brewing (so if you wanted to do a brewery crawl, guess what? You can). The appeal of checking out Pareidolia Brewing Company comes from its original incarnation as a post office, giving it charm as you enter through the glass-paneled door. Consisting of booth, high-top table, and bar seating, the taproom has plenty of space to enjoy freshly-made craft beers. Additionally, they have an outdoor deck in front where you can enjoy a cold one while watching the Indian River Lagoon and contemplate your existence. While on-site drinking a pint of Mel's Gold Ale, I ordered a bacon cheddar dog from their kitchen, because of bacon. I found the dog satisfying in a way that was tasty and tantalizing; tantalizing and tasty that reached multiple levels of pure satisfaction. And the beer was solid so all in all, a joyous experience of spiritual purity. Therefore, if you are driving through Sebastian on the Treasure Coast, stop by for a cold one and a bacon cheddar dog at Pareidolia. It will mystify your mind until you hit rewind and replay the fun times to find. read more

Really disappointing experience here today. They advertised a tie-dye event that sounded like such a fun thing to do on a Saturday, but we made the mistake of trying to have lunch there first. After ordering very simple foods (a hot dog, a soft pretzel, a salad) we waited for almost an hour without getting our food or an update from the server. When we finally asked, the server told us there were still two tickets to be filled before ours and it would be longer. We cancelled our order and went to another restaurant, but the frustrating thing here was communication. The server was unsympathetic and unapologetic, only telling us the menu does say food can take 30 minutes or more. I think we can all agree an hour plus whoever knows how much longer is too long. Maybe don't run special tie-dye events to draw people in if you can't keep up with that demand? Very bummed. read more

Great hang out spot! My boss' husband is apart of a band that played here a few weekends ago and we decided to make the trip down from Palm Bay. We expected the crowd to be outside but since it was raining, they held the band Indoors. Upon walking in, it was small! No chairs left and hardly any room to walk in. It wasn't much of a big deal since they did offer outdoor seating, but you couldn't hear or see the band. The staff, though, was super helpful and the interior was set up nicely. The beer cheese is off the chain and I'm glad it's on a few of their apps. I would highly recommend checking this place out! Make sure to get here early to reserve a table, though! read more

I don't give one stars lightly but I can come up with zero reasons for anyone to go here to eat or drink. I'll start with the beer. They have a lot of them I only tried four but two were not drinkable and the other two were not worth drinking. The lime sour smelled like vomit making it not at all drinkable. Their zip code named IPA smelled like urine and tasted just bad according to their menu this is their most popular beer. The raspberry beer was drinkable and tasted of raspberry only because I knew what it was. The Murky IPA was my favorite out of these 4 but not a beer I wanted to drink. All of the beers were served at room temperature with no carbonation whatsoever. Maybe something was wrong with the beer lines? The food We had the PCB philly which was basically roast beef from the deli with some cheez wiz mixed with one of their beers supposedly. If the beers were great I would give the food a pass but you can serve both bad beer and subpar food. We also had the chili dog- which was a hot dog topped with Hormel chili which is all fine and good but not something I want at a restaurant. read more
